Located directly west of downtown Knoxville and north of the University of Tennessee, Fort Sanders is a haven for college students and recent grads. Fort Sanders is named after a Civil War Union bastion that once stood near the center of town, and the neighborhood’s history runs deep. The Fort Sanders Historic District is filled with original Victorian-era houses and buildings, many named on the National Register of Historic Places. Many others are either rented out or have been converted into apartments to fit the growing renter population in the neighborhood.
The Tennessee River runs south of Fort Sanders with neighboring community parks, large grocery stores, and popular bars. Bus stops are conveniently located around the neighborhood for quick and easy public transportation. In what isn’t taken up by apartments or historical homes, you’ll find an expansive hospital and many doctors’ offices in town.

Property Ratings at Society 865
Do not rent from this facility! Yes, the apartments are clean for the most part, but they will over charge you! We were charged for door hooks that were left form previous renter-$60!! Horrible management and only care about making more money.
very high quality and huge apartments. love this compared to the loud and dirty high rise I used to live at
The property would be nice with a little maintenance. On move in day, we walked into roaches everywhere, appliances not working, a filthy deck from a birds nest/bird poop and cabinet doors not working properly. Other items as well but the roaches are BAD! They told us they bombed the place but it clearly was not since they were still everywhere especially behind the fridge. Not a good first impression!
At first, I was worried that I was paying too much for the location, but the amenities are definitely worth it! They are also super pet-friendly so my dog and I renewed for next year!

Think twice before signing lease for this apartment. Units are not maintained and maintenance is not completed timely. Please read entire lease and do a walk through of the unit before signing the lease. Units look nothing like pictures on website.

The leasing process has lasted since May! The staff doesn't reply to emails or answer phone calls. After finally getting someone on the phone, I had to sit and wait for verbal verification they received my documents in spite of them being sent over the past several months. Where's the follow-up? Where is the interest in tidying up resident files and preparing for smooth move-ins? At least Hayden seems to have it together. My only hope is that the property itself is a better place to live than what's happened in this leasing process. And fingers crossed if we ever have to make service call for the unit. :/
I've called Crowne home now for 3 years and couldn't imagine calling anywhere else home. They have made me and my pet feel like a part of the community. Whenever I need something done maintenance wise, they are always on top of it. The staff has always been incredibly helpful and respectful. One of my favorite parts about Crowne aside from the outdoor kitchen, is the dog park. It's one of many examples of Crowne goes the extra mile to take care of their residents. Parking is always great, I love all of the leasing agents in the office, the property always looks stunning, and I always feel safe when I am home at Crowne. I am not ready to graduate and I am definitely not ready to leave Crowne!

This apartments are absolutely beautiful. They are spacious with a nice, open floor plan. They have a wonderful pool with a very nice fire pit area and large fitness center. The property is in a great location with easy access to I-40, the strip, downtown Knoxville and it's less than a mile from the UT campus. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. They always have something in the office for the residents whether it is coffee, donuts or a smile. The property is well lit and very safe. I love living here and definitely recommend it!

This will be my second year living at Crowne and I don't want to leave! The apartments and amenities are high quality but are affordable for college students, and the management staff know me by name and have helped me in a variety of situations. Safety was key for me (and my parents) especially living in the Fort, but I can honestly say that I have never felt unsafe and Crowne truly feels like home.

This is a great apartment complex for college students or even if you need a short commute to downtown Knoxville. the entire complex is less than a mile from the UT campus and less than a 10 minute drive to downtown Knoxville, but just the right distance from both to not be stuck in the middle of everything. utilities are not included in these apartments but to me that is a fine trade off for what is included. the apartments are equipped with a washer and dryer and full kitchen. Pets are allowed for a fee, but the fee is worth having mans best friend by your side. Crowne has a nice pool with plenty of chairs to accompany a large volume of people as well as a full gym, a game room and use of computer, internet and printer at the main office. each building has plenty of parking for apartment owners exclusively as well as lots of street parking for any visitors you may have. as far as the apartment itself, they have done a great job of making each apartment feel very spacious with the way they are laid out. each apartment has a patio for easy access to the beautiful Crowne landscape. I have found that the apartments have plenty of storage space in the form of cabinets and closets. The diplomat style apartment has a large double closet that is connected making for even more storage space. They have done a good job of using the space provided to make every room feel overly spacious. The bedroom has plenty of room for any size bed with more room to spare. The living room is done in the same fashion giving a great palate for you to create the living space you desire, there is even a gas fire place that is great for warming up quick on those cold winter nights. They have even utilized the bathroom space very well to make them feel very open and provide even more storage space. the kitchens are equipped with up to date appliances and seem to be just the right size with an attached dining area that gives the whole apartment an open feel. If you have any maintenance needs, the Crowne staff is very quick to respond to any of your requests and knowledgeable to any of your problems. Overall Crowne is a great modern style place to live with easy access to any part of town and a very helpful and knowledgeable staff. A great place to live in my opinion.
