Life in College Station pretty much revolves around Texas A&M University. The student body accounts for 60,000 people in a city of just over 100,000, and the university employs roughly 15% of the non-student population. The cultural impact of the university is tremendous, from the on-campus art, scholarly resources, and architecture to the thriving food, nightlife, and music scenes around town, and of course the exuberant Texas Aggies fandom.
Apartments and rental houses are available to suit every budget, from exceedingly affordable student rentals to more upscale homes. Parents will appreciate the vest selection of highly-rated public schools, and easy access to city parks gives everyone the opportunity to get out and enjoy the fresh air.

Property Ratings at SoCo at Tower Point
My spouse and I have lived at Soco since last May and we have had an overall great experience! Maintenance is fast, on point, and always friendly! The office staff is super helpful and takes their residents’ concerns seriously, which is huge for us as property management professionals ourselves. They have heard and understood the issues about trash, pet waste, and parking, and worked diligently to rectify and improve the community. They have revamped the parking situation for the better and I have noticed a huge improvement since I moved in so kudos to the team! Trash is no longer piled up and the grounds have looked 10x better lately. Amenities are great and always well kept! Location is ideal and close to everything you need!
They rent them to you as if they were luxury apartments but they do not maintain luxury apartments or they definitely do not know what the word luxury defines. All its areas are always dirty, especially the pool where many children go. The pool is extremely poorly maintained, the water is always green and the bottom of the pool is always dirty. the bbq only works one, in short they should not say that they are luxury apartments because they definitely are not.
Trash disposal is horrible here, and you have to pay for trash valet! There is only one trash compactor for the whole complex. Bags of garbage will be piled outside the compactor area for days over the weekend. People dump couches, mattresses, etc. in the parking lot by the compactor and the management lets it sit there for weeks. It is disgusting! The amenities are not well maintained either.
-Built extremely cheap. Inside home everything is breaking apart due to poor quality. -Higher than average electricity bills during winter as heat is generated by the AC compressor (inverse cooling). System is not equipped with heating elements! It heats up very slowly, and compressor works almost whole time to keep up, very loud apartment complex during winter as all these ACs are rattling. - Maintenance was good during 2018. After head of maintenance Justine left property in April 2019, whole summer 2019 pool was poorly maintained. I recall only one week of clean pool during second week of July when maintenance remembered to change water filters. Whole June filters were completely plugged, or partially plugged as no water was flowing back through return ports. Swimming pool was full of dead insects, cloudy, green algae on the walls, layer of oil visible on surface. -Since WestShore took property over in May, things went from bad to worse, if you ask office support for help, they will answer in automated robot-like fashion “ …our main priority at SoCo is ensuring we deliver the best possible housing experience”, but nothing gets done. -There is no playground for children. Dogs have more entertainment. In July, noticed dog even swim inside swimming pool, cute little one called Rosemary. Never saw dog being allowed in apt complex swimming pool before. -New manager Brightan is trying hard to improve things, wish her good luck, but I am out; overpriced for that quality of living
