Boise, also known as Boise-Eliot, is a popular up-and-coming neighborhood with a unique culture unrivaled anywhere else. Rich history and modern improvements come together in Boise, where historic brick buildings and new high-rise apartments stand side by side along tree-lined streets.
Located just east of the Willamette River, Boise is at the heart of the increasingly hip and urban North Portland area. Boise’s main commercial thoroughfares are North Mississippi Avenue and North Williams Avenue, which are both lined with independent shops, tasty eateries, and exciting nightlife options. Boise also serves as the perfect location for someone wanting to settle down into a vibrant community near Downtown Portland, which is just a short metro ride or drive down I-5 away.

Property Ratings at Solace
We’ve lived here for almost two years and have absolutely LOVED it! You can’t beat the location. The staff is always very helpful, and the shared spaces are always clean. My only complaint is that they really need to have the exterior windows cleaned. Move in here, you won’t be disappointed.

Thank you for this glowing review! We are working on window bids as we speak! Enjoy your day!
My apartment is amazing. It's spacious with great amenities which includes an awesome walk in shower, closest space and a roof top unlike no other. This is by far the best place I've ever rented from and when it comes to Portland I can tell you this is the best neighborhood in town but here in this building It's starts with the staff. They are quick to respond to emails and there is a very friendly maintenance lead person who will introduce himself to you and is more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Not to say the least the great people who maintain the housekeeping in this building do a fantastic job. This place is always spotless thanks to them. The property is top of the line

Thanks for the wonderful review! We are happy to help make Solace a wonderful home for you!
I moved in last month and so far have had a great experience. The building is clean and secure, the coffee machine is always stocked and the complex has some great events and perks for its residents. The rooftop is well taken care of and unlike the old building I lived in every amenity in the building actually works and is available to use. The only reason I give it 4 stars has to do with the management company, not the building or staff itself. Never in my life have I had such a difficult time getting my cat approved to live somewhere with me. The pet deposit is excessive for a cat and you have to get certain shots for your cat that even my vet was confused about for an indoor cat (it felt harder to get him approved than me haha) but overall I am loving renting at Solace so far!

Thank you for your candid review! We hope Solace is enjoyable for you every day to live here! I know the pet screening is tedious but it insures we comply with the city of Portland and the safety of animals in the community!
Quality of life is something that's very important to me – that said, it's something I didn't realize I'd have to give up when I signed a lease here. If you're considering moving into either of the buildings in this complex, know this: trash and recycling pickups for Solace as well as the retail/commercial spaces around it happen before 6am every single weekday. I suspect that this was a known issue due to the dismissive response and lack of empathy from building management. They did offer the option to move to another unit and sign a lease extension. However, moving to another unit doesn't solve the problem for myself or others. It only means that I'd end up coming out of pocket for a rent increase and moving expenses while also having to uproot my living situation, all due to an issue that was not disclosed to me before moving in. I beg of you, please think twice before signing a lease here.
I was so excited to move into this building. The folks in the office were friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is wonderful. Then, I actually moved in. Now, I am counting the days until my lease ends and I can leave. The Solace Apartments stand as a testament to truly horrendous urban planning and development. About 30 feet from my bedroom window, there is a nerve-center of the waste management system for the entire block of businesses and apartments. 5 days a week, between about 3:30am and 7:00am (I wish this was an embellishment, I've actually written it down as it happens) there are multiple trash trucks from multiple companies spending between 10-20 minutes collecting large dumpsters, small bins and everything in between from the area. It's a nightmare. Well, it would be if I could sleep in this apartment. I've tried ear plugs, white noise machines and nothing dampens the sound of glass and metal. Not to mention, this is all taking place sandwiched between the two Solace buildings along Shaver so there's almost a sound amplification to the echoes. The attitude from management is literally, "Oh shucks it sure can be tough to adjust to city living!". I've lived in cities for 15 years. I've had early trash routes. I understand the necessity of this service, and how fortunate we are to have it done for us. This isn't city living. This is a failure in the fundamentals of urban planning and development. What I cannot understand is how this wasn't disclosed to me when I was touring the apartment. Which brings me to why I'm writing this. If you're considering moving here, just please for the love of all that is right and holy in this world --- do not move into a unit with a bedroom window along Shaver. There's a chance I'll accept the offer from management to sign a new lease and move to a different unit. Regardless, this review will live on as a warning to anyone about to make the same mistake I did. Then again, that would mean agreeing to give this company more money than I'm currently obligated to. It would also mean hiring movers and packing everything that was just unpacked. I'm exhausted just writing that. Or maybe I'm just still exhausted from not sleeping.
