Burien is a small suburban city, perfectly positioned to give residents easy access to virtually everything the Puget Sound area has to offer. Downtown Seattle is less than fifteen miles north and Sea-Tac Airport lies just outside the city’s southeast corner, making it an excellent rental location for commuters and jet-setters.
The community enjoys a large waterfront area, with Seahurst Park providing an unspoiled natural playground with stunning views of Puget Sound and the evergreen forests of the Pacific Northwest. The area known as “Olde Burien” serves as the city’s highly-walkable downtown business district, with an abundance of locally-owned shops, restaurants, and watering holes clustered together along 152nd Street.

Property Ratings at Solana
My experience at Solana was a complete nightmare. The prices they charge are outrageous for what you get. The place is filthy and poorly maintained. To make matters worse, there is a severe cockroach infestation throughout the complex. The management is unresponsive and unprofessional, ignoring maintenance requests and leaving tenants to deal with crumbling apartments. Save yourself the headache and find a better place to live.
We have resided in this apartment complex for more than 2 years, and unfortunately, our experience has been unsatisfactory. One of the main issues we encountered here was the presence of cockroaches in our and at least 3 other units we are aware of. It came to our attention that some residents had seen cockroaches a year before we moved in. During our first year, we didn't experience any cockroach problems. However, in the second year, they began to appear. Initially, we didn't consider it a significant concern and promptly informed the management on two occasions. Regrettably, the management didn't take the matter seriously, and despite our repeated follow-ups, it took them over two months to arrange for a pest control company to visit our unit. Even then, the effectiveness of their treatment was questionable, as they simply sprayed a minimal amount of a weak liquid around the house, yielding no tangible results. This cycle repeated itself twice, with the second attempt showing marginal improvement but ultimately proving ineffective. As it stands now, cockroaches have infested our living space everywhere, and despite our efforts, including traps and poisons, their population continues to multiply at an alarming rate. When we requested to terminate our lease due to the ongoing issue, the manager refused and instead offered us another apartment. However, we were taken aback when she demanded an $400 increase in rent if we move to the clean unit. More annoying, instead of acknowledging the severity of the cockroach problem, she seemed disinterested and dismissive, repeatedly asking us what we expected her to do and even questioning the absence of cockroaches during our first year of tenancy. Another area of concern, especially for individuals with disabilities, is the parking situation. Out of the three designated disabled parking spots, only one is genuinely accessible. In one instance, when we parked in one of those spots, the regular occupant of that spot intentionally blocked our car, resulting in us missing an important doctor's appointment for our son. The individual callously asserted that it was 'their space.' In the second occasion, we parked in another spot, only to have the manager's associate knock at our door aggressively, instructing us to move our vehicle since it was “reserved”.
The last review is accurate in that disruptive people involved in obvious criminal activity moved in and terrorized the entire complex and staff. I am happy to report that they have been evicted and are gone! Solana has gone back to being the clean, quiet little gem that it was before those hoodlums moved in. We have lived here for three years and, aside from that little blip, have loved our time here.
I have lived here for a few years and recently squatters moved in. They are selling drugs and women of the night (if you get what I mean). It's gotten from great to downright terrifying. The management team is barely doing anything about it other than yelling at them and promising to evict them. Though there has been no movement on the eviction. I liked living here but it's just gotten unsafe for me.
I want to give Solana 5 stars for my experience living there. Richelle was so welcoming and helpful to me while I was a tenant. I unfortunately had to move out in August due to a new job in California, but I'd recommend these apartments to anyone that appreciates being taken care of properly every time they need anything.

I have lived at the Solana Apartments for almost a year and I love my apartment. I will definitely be renewing my lease in October. I enjoy life at the Solana. It is so peaceful and quite. It's like your own little private community. The staff is amazing and they are always working to make living there comfortable. The neighbors are great as well!! Everyone is very respectful and considerate. I would definitely recommend the Solana Apartments if you're looking for a very quite, peaceful community in Burien.
We lived here for the last year and really loved it! It tends to be a somewhat quiet area, especially if you get an apartment with the back facing the greenbelt. Staff have always been very friendly, kind and helpful. I loved how the newly renovated apartments looked. And the new little gym is perfect for a great workout! I was always afraid of Amazon boxes being taken off our front door and they never were and other folks living there were all great as well. We moved out a month earlier than our lease and staff were really helpful and flexible with us. Definitely recommend this building if you are looking in the Burien area!
