Property Ratings at Solano at Chapel Hill
Heed the warning of the other residents and stay away from this place! We were pressed for time due to some uncontrolled events and decided to rent here last minute, and boy, we highly regret that decision! Nothing about this apartment is ‘luxurious’ and the amount of money they charge for the subpar quality of their place is absurd. Do you want a headache and having maintenance people at your place all the time? If you do then go ahead and rent an apartment from them. Otherwise, there are much better apartments in Chapel Hill within the same price range. I can’t wait until our lease is over!
Property Manager at Solano at Chapel Hill, Responded To This Review
Hello! We appreciate you providing feedback on our community and apologize your experience has not been positive. I'm glad to hear that maintenance has responded to your requests. We would love for you to reach out to our property manager for anything further we can assist you with to make your stay more enjoyable. Sincerely, The Solano Team
We moved in about 5 months ago and have yet to find something even remotely decent about this apartment complex. We have had nothing but issues since 2 weeks before we moved in. After getting approved we were ignored for a week by the new management who had taken over 1-2 weeks prior to applying. The apartment was extremely dirty on move in day. The carpets were obviously not vacuumed and the cabinets were covered with trash, crumbs, and hair that were painted over. The counter tops have a clear coat on top that peels ever time u wipe it to clean and the sinks were painted to cover up rust stains which are now visible again. Our dryer hose was not connected to the wall which cause extream heat and condensation. All windows have mold and create puddles when it rains. We told them about the mold about 3 months ago and they came and took pictures but have yet to come try to resolve the issue. There's many more issues with the apartment. Do not move here unless you like headaches. Make sure you view the actual apartment you would be moving into prior to signing lease.
I have absolutely no idea why this place has the gaul to offer tours if all the vacant apartments can’t be toured because of renovations. Lady at the front desk tried her best to make the apartments seem appealing but frankly if management is willing to waste my time then I’d rather rent somewhere else. I wouldn’t recommend even considering Solano for several months.
I wanted to wait a few weeks to write my review so I could properly share my opinion. I have been here for about a month and a half and I am happy to say that my expectations have been surpassed! MOVE IN: On move in day Melissa was very helpful with getting me acclimated and moved in. The apartment was in immaculate condition, super clean, and much nicer than could be conveyed in a virtual tour. I had no issues to report and everything worked as expected. LOCATION: The location is fantastic. Easy access to i40 and the heart of Chapel Hill is only 10 minutes away. But despite how close and accessible everything is from here, there is no highway noise. It is surprisingly quiet and quite peaceful. Couple that with the fantastic and well kept landscaping and it really does have that luxury feel. AMENITIES: Everything is exactly as you see it on the website. Those pictures don't lie. The pool, the gym, the grills, the tennis court, the business center... they're all very well kept and enjoyable. CONCLUSION: If you are looking for a nice place in a great location with amazing amenities and the best people, you'll have a hard time finding somewhere better. I really do love living here and at this time I have no complaints.
Never go in here. I extremely hate this place. 4 reasons why Pointe is the worst among in Chapel Hill; 1) All deposits (Around $1500) will be deducted when checking out. The landlord unreasonably deducted almost all my deposits. I asked to provide photo/video evidence, but there is no answer. I will go small-claim-court in NC. If you experienced same issue in Pointe, don’t hesitate to go to the court. It has been nearly 20 years since the apartment was built, and the landlord is passing on all the repair costs to the tenant. You have to pay for paint even if you keep the walls clean, you have to pay for smelling after cleaning the refrigerator, and you have to pay for blinds and cabinets even though they are not broken. If you want to lose all your deposit, sign a house here. 2) Pointe has become the worst place ever since the manager recently changed. The worst service person I've ever met in my entire life. All the neighbors are uncomfortable and hate the person. I don't know why the Connor Group hired this person. If one of the Connor Group C-level can see this review, I beg please get fire the manager. The person changed the atmosphere of the whole apartment and everything became the worst. 3) The Point notified that the house I sighed is impossible a day before that I had move in. No responsibility for the contract and no alternative to move in. I hired a lawyer to claim damages, so the Pointe offered another house. It's the worst and the manager was extremely mean. 4) The final contract that Pointe offer is different from what I and Pointe initially agreed each other. Pointe continued to propose unfavorable conditions for tenants, such as asking tenants to pay for the cost of replacing carpets and proposing a minimum contract period that was previously never discussed.
We have lived at The Pointe at Chapel Hill for 6 months. The few times we have had a problem, Melissa and Nick have sent someone almost immediately to take care of it. We have been impressed with the service, friendliness, and the beautiful grounds.
I have been staying in this complex for almost 2 years. I like staying here mainly because of the location and also the staff here is really friendly .. They also attend to your maintenance issues as soon as possible..
Maybe I should say a deluxe cheese burger with all the trimmings. Good location, great grounds, quiet and country like with a walking distance to retail shopping, medical facilities, banking and only a short distance to a major interstate. Being from the NYC, you will have to pay three times to get what you have here, spacious, clean, excellent service, and concierge waste service. Pet friendly and walkable. Can’t beat it. And I’ll have fries with that. Pass the malt vinegar.
Nick and the team have been so gracious and welcoming as my roommate and I moved in this last semester. The pointe is the place to be!
Good location in a safe area, very nice layout with lots of space, and good for the price
I have lived in my apartment since January of this year (2020). Nick was so very welcoming when he showed me the apartment and continues to be genuinely pleasant whenever we interact. I have found the other office staff to be pleasant as well. The maintenance man has been quick to respond to the only two maintenance issues I have had. The layout of the apartment and elegant features such as the ceiling fans, light in the dining area and large mirrors in both of our bathrooms, are all high end. They are some of the major attractions of our place. Give Nick a call if you are looking for a great experience in apartment living!
I lived with two children for a year. Overall, the pointe apartment is very old. Therefore, I can hear the footsteps of the upper floors and the water in the bathroom in the middle of the night. Air conditioning noise is also loud. Various bugs such as cockroaches are coming out from time to time. (We lived on the upper floor.) The floor was carpeted, so my son and I had a hard time with rhinitis. A dusty bicycle or cart under the first floor has been left unattended for over a year. It was a bit disappointing that there was no playground for children. Every time I went to the swimming pool in summer, I cleaned up dozens of insects that were dead and floating on the water by myself. Be sure to have a thorough inspection before moving in. Otherwise, the Leasing Office will hold you responsible for everything when you leave. Even if you blame your carelessness, it will be late then. If you look around a little bit more, there are many newly built apartments and town homes in Chapelhill. Make sure to look around and choose your residence carefully. I will choose a residential area that is clean and new.
We lived at The Pointe for 15 months and the management went continually downhill during the duration of our lease. They harassed us beginning 4 months out to renew our lease and when we said we weren't ready to decide they jacked the price they were willing to offer us. The pool was often closed because it wasn't well taken care of. The staff in the office were in constant churn and turnover. When we had a water leak issue they wouldn't clean it properly and left a closet in the apartment with mold. Another time we called about a leaking toilet and windows and they simply never filled the maintenance request. During the time we were there they lowered their valet trash service from 5 days per week to 2 but the cost stayed the same. When we left we had the place cleaned and they not only didn't return our deposit but wouldn't even engage us in conversation about it or return our calls. I would NOT recommend you live here.
Had to move quickly from Florida for work. Everyone at The Ponite at Chapel Hill has been extremely helpful and generous. The apartment itself is spacious, quite and comfortable.Easy access to 40, and plenty of parks / trails for running, hiking and biking. I would highly recommend The Ponite of Chapel Hill to anyone moving to the RDU area
The Pointe has great apartment layouts, a nice clubhouse, and lovely outdoor features such as the dog park, pool, fire pit, and tennis court. Additionally, their rules for renters are very reasonable and understanding. The office staff are always kind and ready to help with any issue. Compared to places I've lived as an undergraduate, this is by far the best renting experience I have had near campus.
I feel comfortable, cozy, excellent to facilities and it is very close to Duke and UNC. I'm satisfied with all of things in Pointe APT.
Lived here for 7 years, loved the space of my apt and amenities. Centrally located to shopping, doctors offices, and restaurants. Buses come up to the property and makes it very convenient to travel if you do not have a car.
I am currently a student at the University of North Carolina and this apartment complex is very close to the school. I've had a good experience living here and the staff is very friendly.
I love living at The Pointe at Chapel Hill. I've lived in many different places and The Pointe is by far the best apartment and community I've found. The staff are attentive, communicative and friendly. The grounds are well-kept and there are wonderful amenities, including a pool, dog park, tennis court, gym and nature trails nearby. The Chapel Hill bus line stops right in front of the community and the Timberlyne Shopping Center is a short walk away. The units themselves are updated and well-designed. It's a great place to live.
I have lived here for several years. The location is very convenient for entertainment and for great places to eat. The management team is very professional and responsive to service request, etc. I would highly recommend this location as the place to live in Chapel Hill.
This is a great apartment complex. The leasing office is very helpful and very accommodating. I like living in this complex. This is a great area to live in too.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS DUMP!!!! I moved from out of state. A few days prior to my arrival I confirmed with management that the keys to my apartment would be left inside for me since I was moving in on a Sunday. I got to the apartment Saturday evening, and had movers scheduled to come Sunday morning. When I arrived, I walked into a dirty dump: there was a huge stain on one of the doors, a dead bug and crumbs in the fridge, the toilets were black with fungus and holes in the walls from the prior tenants’ pictures. To top it all off, there was a notecard on top of the stovetop that said “This apartment has received our WHITE GLOVE INSPECTION. It is ready to be your new home.” Clearly, a lie. Anyone that has functioning vision could clearly see this apartment had not been cleaned in months. It was obvious that card was signed in the office with no appropriate walk through from management. I called the emergency number. The person that answered the line was some 20-year old maintenance kid who had no idea what to do. A few minutes later I get a call from (apparently) the property manager (Kia) who then said she would have the leasing agent who signed the apartment from (Lesly). Lesly was utterly useless. All she did was say sorry but had no solution to the problem. She couldn’t even come to the complex to help since she was hours away in Charlotte. Somehow the maintenance kid on call, who took 45 mins to get to the apartment, obtained a master key and literally started walking into empty apartments to see if any were cleaned and ready for move in. He showed me one that had black furniture marks on the walls. The second he showed me seemed relatively cleaner, at least the toilets were not black and there were no scuff marks on the walls or bugs in the fridge. Given that I had movers waiting and nowhere to put my stuff, I told Lesly that this third apartment would suffice and had the movers set up my stuff in it. I left and flew back up to NY to drive my car down. I get back a few days later and do a walk through in this apartment and find that it too HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED. There were crumbs in the kitchen drawers, the master bathroom cupboard had oil stains and all sorts of other stains. I called back and asked to speak to the manager. I was told she was in a “meeting” and that I would receive a call back. Never did. I went to the office myself and told them I was moving out. they did not return any of my deposit.
The staff at the Pointe are amazing and respond quickly to maintenance requests and general help. Super friendly, clean environment, and a great place to stay so far. I highly recommend checking it out!
The conner group and the pointe at Chapel hill have been nothing but wonderful in helping us to get an apartment here and have helped get a stress free environment for an afforable price. Compared to our last place the neighborhood is quiet and there is plenty of parking, our neighbors are nice and personable, and the space is big allowing us to actual have privacy from each other. The appliances were all new and minus an issue with a door and an electrical outlet things have been absolutely amazing.
I recently moved in (Nov 2018) and so far I love it! the apartments are HUGE and the staff is very friendly and accommodating!
Happy to have moved to NC only cause of my experience staying at The pointe. When I started looking out for places The Pointe was the first place I visited and I loved it and booked the same day. Really happy with their service. Great apartments with great view. Lots of sunlight in the hall, makes you feel lively at home.
We moved to The Pointe recently. This place fits our needs perfectly. The apartment has very spacious kitchen, bath rooms and bed rooms, with nice amenities. Also, the location is close to shopping area, banks, down town. Helpful office staff and maintenance crew. Looking forward to our stay here. KB
This apartment is very good with nice scenery and is good for a walk. It is so convenient to have bus station at the entrance of the apartment and is close to the expressway. We can easily go to grocery store, movie theaters and restaurants by walk.
Friendly staff, inviting community, and wonderful living spaces!
This apartment is little bit old, but quite nice because of a tennis court and a swimming pool. Valet trash service is good for you.
Apartment complex is clean and has ample parking space. Location is very convenient, as it is near I-40, and there is a bus stop within the complex. Complex is very quiet at night which is a nice plus.
Living in The Pointe is great for the price. Very clean accomidations with great appliances. The office staff is very friendly and work with you if you have any issues. My only complaint is that the walls are a bit thin, but I guess that's just apartment living in general.
Both the apartment itself and the staff here have been wonderful. Overall, I have no complaints and have thoroughly enjoyed my experience here.
I have lived at the Pointe for three years and continue to enjoy it. The Pointe is conveniently located next to grocery stores, coffee shops, movie theater etc. I recommend it to anyone looking to move to Chapel Hill.
My mom and I recently moved in the point. We had a beautiful experience. The sales people, were very professional courteous and extreamly helpful. The apartment are spacious and very modern, and the surrounding are well maintained. It is a great place to live. I love this wonderful community.
The Staff is always helpful and area is very clean.
Very easy to work with management. Rooms are spacious and frankly, beautiful. Highly recommend The Pointe.
I love this community! Beautiful area. It has nice staff and awesome neighborhood. You will enjoy living here alone or with your family. It is Pet-friendly and very clean on the other hand. Also, a great environment if you have kids. I highly recommend here!
Quiet upscale apartment nestled in a great location that gives you the best of both worlds, including privacy and conveniently located near shopping, entertainment and medical offices. Courteous, friendly, responsive staff members who work to ensure customer satisfaction. Neighborhood environment is warm and friendly. I have enjoyed my time at residing at The Pointe and I recommend their services.
This apartment is amazing. I love my apartment and it's loacation close to Franklin st. It's great for students and for professional employees. I work in Durham and the Highway is very close to this apartment, but out of the way enough that I don't have any city/Highway sounds. The apartment staff and manager are amazing and helpful. Any question and/or concern was answered promptly and fully.Any work order I needed was dealt with swiftly. Best apartment place I have lived in North Carolina yet! Thanks!
Very nice complex. Very convenient to just about everything.Management is very responsive to all requests.I have been living here for about eight months and I can say I have no complaints
I just moved in a few days ago and already know I’m going to love it! It’s a beautiful place to stay and the management is so helpful and accommodating! They were great with being flexible about my move in date! It’s perfect for working in the triangle area and is quiet but still offers plenty to do! Definitely would recommend! Krystal in the office is super great if you have any questions or need help with anything.
Chintana We have been at the Pointe at Chapel Hill since 2017, and we are glad we chose to live here. The property fits several of our criteria for a comfortable place to live in Chapel Hill. The features that fulfilled our wish list included the following: - Well-organized property management - Well-maintained apartment-home units, clean and provide a pleasant environment in the neighborhood - Within walking distance to supermarkets, banks, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. - A quiet home-garden environment surrounded by trees and shrubs - Multicultural community We thank everyone for making our apartment living experience a happy one, and we are pleased with our situation and plan on renewing our lease.
Excellent sevices, good place to live! Emily did a great job! I enjoy living here.
Very safe, pet-friendly neighborhood. The staff are very friendly and quick to respond. The apartments are clean and spacious - great place to live!
I have lived here for several years and this is a great place to live. The staff is wonderful; they are responsive and truly care about the residents and making this a place you want to live. The complex is attractive and well maintained, plenty of parking, and the amenities are excellent. The apartments were recently refurbished and updated inside and out; all new appliances, light fixtures and flooring. The residents are friendly. You won't go wrong living herr.
I have lived here for 1.5 years (and just renewed for another year). My initial experiences with management were terrible, but now that there is new maintenance and office staff (Dani is a ray of sunshine!), everything is being taken care of much more efficiently. I had a laundry list of maintenance requests that were finally taken care of when Dani relayed the information. Overall, I've really enjoyed the size of my apartment, the valet trash, the pool, the location, and the parking. Compared to nearby apartment complexes, it's definitely on the more expensive end, but in my opinion, it's worth it. When I moved in, it was the best deal for the square footage to cost ratio in the area.
I am subletting an apartment here for a couple of months and I had the greatest experience so far. The office staff is amazing! They are so friendly and welcoming, it's always a good time going in to chat with them! The complex itself is so beautiful, with blooming trees and neat landscaping- the grounds are kept so nicely. So far parking has been good, I haven't had to walk too far at night to my apartment. Maintenance has come right away and has been friendly and respectful. I LOVE the valet trash pick up and I especially love that they recycle! Overall great place to be, would definitely recommend to anyone!
As a family, we enjoy living here. It is a very safe area with nice neighbors. We love the Tennis court and BBQ. T and NS rout bus stop are few minutes away and it is very convinient.
I’ve lived at The Pointe for almost 2 years now. The trash is picked up 5 days per week usually by 2pm. The staff is wonderful! They’re friendly and very helpful. I’ve requested maintenance and someone will come by within 48 hours. I did have trouble with my dishwasher last year but they replaced it and it works great. I love being close to the movie theater and the grocery store. And the kids enjoy the pool and playing pool in the clubhouse.
