Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Downtown Sunnyvale serves as suburban Sunnyvale’s urban core. Downtown Sunnyvale has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, especially with the development of Cityline Sunnyvale, an expansive mixed-use center providing world-class shopping, beautiful office space, and brand new apartments available for rent.
Despite its explosive growth and new developments, Downtown Sunnyvale maintains a sense of historic charm. This is particularly evident along Murphy Avenue, which offers a slew of restaurants, cafes, shops, and salons in historic storefronts. Many downtown residents enjoy short commute times, whether they’re within walking distance of work or take one of the trains accessible via Sunnyvale Station.

Property Ratings at Solstice
This has been a terrible place to live, unsafe, and very shady business practices. The reviews are all true: packages get stolen, cars get broken into, no onsite staff, they nickel and time you for everything (parking used to be free, now it's paid after they snuck it into the lease), crows are extremely loud, trains are extremely loud, trash chute is extremely loud, construction is everywhere, and staff is clueless and unresponsive. Don't be fooled by the low rent prices on their website, it's a trick to get you to sign that first year so they can raise your rent $500-$1000 PER YEAR for no reason at all. Notice how they have so many empty units available. The churn is very high because they will squeeze the crap out of you for $$$$. Do not live here. We can't wait to move out.
After living here for 4 years, I'm downgrading Solstice to 1 star due to unresolved safety issues. I'd like to warn the public and anyone thinking of leasing here: Solstice keeps raising our rent on an annual basis but the quality and safety of this place keeps decreasing. This is not a safe place to live, theft (bikes and packages) is rampant, and strangers who don't live here come in and out of the "secured" garage frequently. Just a few weeks ago there was a gray Prius with smashed windows parked in our "secured" garage as if someone had taken a crowbar to it. There is also NO property manager on site and the security cameras in the building are FAKE (they don't work). The building is across the street from the train station and right next to restaurants + supermarkets where anyone can walk in so you'd think they'd invest more in the security of the building or at least enforce the rules they post-- they don't. Last month, they raised our rent by $300 and added a monthly parking fee despite unresolved issues with stolen packages and illegally parked cars in our garage. What exactly are you raising our rent for? What value do we get for our money? I do not recommend solstice as a place to live. It's overpriced, unsafe, and poorly managed. The management is responsive with emails but they're all talk and they don't actually do anything for their tenants. I will update this review once my issues are resolved but I've filed 2 complaints already with no changes.
I've come to realize that the property is finding new ways to squeeze money out of its residents, investing only in places that meet this goal. There was a huge issue with package theft this past year and despite all the cameras in the hallways, Solstice made no effort to review footage of the thief. I heard of residents losing hundreds of dollars worth of items. Nor could they install additional ones. However, they had no issue forking over money for unnecessary (and highly unpopular) SmartRent. They've also now mandated residents pay for parking despite having plenty of free parking spaces. Not only did they start marking off spots as 'premium reserved' spaces in the gated parking (charging extra for these), but now they allow NO OVERNIGHT parking. Ironically, they claim all of this is to provide a better community experience for their residents.
I live at Solstice apartments and have never been so happy with an apartment before. Everything is such high quality in the community that it still feels a little dreamy when I walk around. The amenities are phenomenal and the new restaurants downstairs make getting food and drinks even easier than it was before. All the in-apartment appliances are full size, making a nice change of pace from my last few communities, even at high rent. The staff are exceptional and have made every process a breeze. They are easy to work with and responsive. Maintenance is also very on top of things and are very helpful.
