Somerset Apartments

This is my 2nd ever apartment and it's been a thrill. I have truly enjoyed every moment here. The Manager Cindy has been nothing but great and her maintenance staff has always fixed any issues I have had. Been nothing but a welcoming feeling since moving in. Thank you!

The apartments her are so beautiful and always up to date on modern looks I have been living here for the last year and have been treated with the upmost respect and have been amazed with how nice the complex is from other Tennants to management and to how well the apartments are kept up.

Lived here for awhile now. Very nice area with nice people. I Appreciate the management and maintenance workers they are great. They treat you great here and very respectful. Very nice place to live.

The complex is clean and safe I have been living here for many years now without any complaints the office management and the maintenance dept personal are professional and courteous I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone.

Management is very quick to respond to the needs of the tenants. The complex is clean and peaceful. Close to Ft. Polk with many service members who reside here and they, of course, are locked on and keep things pretty orderly at their residence. Maintenance is great and can fix just about anything. Five ***** stars!

Cause the management is a joke they don’t like to handle situation the right way. The maintenance workers don’t do they job right. They talk about the tenants. Corporate ain’t no help either !!! It’s a bad place to live and not worth my money or anyone else money. Poor place to rent from.

clean Apartment management is wonderful and very kind, process was very easy and they got me in very quickly. walk through was great manager wrote down everything to fix and ive had no problems.

Fantastic. After Hurricane Laura, the management was on top of things. My apartment was condemned and she found one for me immediately. Great place to live.

New Management is Wonderful. They made my move in very easy. One thing I admire the most was when deficiencies were found upon my move in, the management took full responsibility and never made excuses. They worked quickly to make things right and was always reassuring. Even after moving in, they always take the time to answer any questions I have and just check on my well being. They are very military friendly, and just overall great people. Thank you for all you have done and you continue do for me and every resident on the property.

I have lived at Somerset Apartments in Deridder for about 3 years and I absolutely love it here. The new staff is wonderful, courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful. The new maintenance staff is top notch, even though very little maintenance is required on the apartments. It is in a great location with shopping, banking, and dining facilities very close. I can walk next door to Walmart and buy a couple items instead of driving all over town for a months supply. Fort Polk is so close. Pets are welcome. The 1 and 2 bedroom apartments are really nice, spacious, and updated. There is a lot of storage space and nice appliances. It is close to Lake Charles, less than an hour from here. I would highly recommend anyone looking for an apartment to live here. It is safe and secure.

This is the WORST apartment I have ever lived in. There is no actual maintenance staff so you’ll be waiting weeks before they come to your apartment and when they do, they offer no solutions. They can come in every month to “inspect” but somehow can’t actually fix the things that aren’t working. I had to call 5 times before they came to look at my leaking shower and nothing has been fixed. The laundry room has one working washer and one working dryer. The others will steal your quarters. If you ask who the landlord or building manager is, they’ll tell you they don’t know. I’m moving out before my lease is up because this place is so awful. Don’t bother.

I moved in late June. I didn’t sign a lease until late July. We were only given 1 key for the apartment and one for the mailbox (even though they had to replace the lock because they didn’t have a mailbox key.) Our Apartment stays with centipedes in here no matter how many time we clean them up. Our toilet stays running after you flush it, which caused our bill to be $80 a month. Our bath tub floor was cut out and a “new one” was installed, the one installed catches water under it so when you get in the shower you get hit with cold water. We have recently found MOLD/MILDEW around the apartment. One of the managers came in and took our ac filter. The dish washer doesn’t fit in the hole so when you use it and it shakes out the hole. One of our heating elements on the stove was cracked and when we ask for a NEW one they gave us one that’s was filthy, had paint and dirt on it, and it didn’t fit. They finally came after 3 months and had a fuse panel put on but since then our bathroom light switch has been acting up. I do not recommend these apartments and if I could afford to move I’d move in a heartbeat.

I really enjoy living here. The apartments and grounds are very comfortable, clean. Management is top notch, being both kind, courteous and responsive to the needs and requests. Location is convenient for commuting and shopping. Neighborhood is quaint and walkable. Also nice restaurants nearby. A very nice place to live.

We were living in a non-wheelchair accessible apartment when my partner ended up in a wheelchair. We really needed a wheelchair accessible apartment as soon as possible and the staff at Somerset apartments went above and beyond in many ways to make sure that we were in one within two months. We are thrilled as the new apartment has given my partner back a lot of the independence he had lost. He can now do everything from go into the kitchen to get a drink or a snack to even go out to our car on his own. The pool is well maintained, the basketball court is used regularly and the neighbors are friendly and quiet. I definitely recommend Somerset Apartments.

I lived there for 3 years. Staff was always willing to help, very clean, always kept up on maintenance issues. Prices are very reasonable for the area. Would definitely advise this place to others.

This was my husband & I's first place together. Both of us experienced hostility from staff, even though we paid our rent on time & tried to keep to ourselves. Their hours vary, so picking up packages or trying to reach them was often difficult. I tried for three days to return our keys to them, but they charged us with month to month rent that we did not agree to & now are trying to get that money from us. Rent was way to high for the area for poor carpet & old appliances. Save some money & look elsewhere.

We just had a look at the 1 bedroom apartment and it was very nice, very clean, mostly carpet which is something we wanted. The nice woman who toured us around was very helpful. The prices asked are way better than where we're coming from so that is a plus. They also have a basketball and tennis court with a pool on the side which was good thing. It's located within walking distance of walmart. Over all I give the place 5 stars because of the good customer service we received.
