Property Ratings at Somerset Apartments
This property has gotten worse by the year, Grounds are unkept and requests go ignored. Water always off, Noise, trash and abrasive workers in office. Refusing to answer phones and clean grounds.
I used to love this apartment, but it's turned into a dump. Ever since Western Wealth Management took over, there's trash and broken glass everywhere, graffiti and a burnt dumpster, they got rid of recycling, maintenance doesn't fix anything, the water is turned off without warning several times a week, and the front office never answers calls or emails. Right before major holidays they tell us to empty our kitchens for pest control - but nobody actually comes. There are only nine parking spaces approved for non-residents on the entire property. The property changes towing companies every few months and tows everyone who doesn't have the new company's tag in their windows. They turn off our automatic rent payment every. single. month. so they can charge us late payment fees. They charge us for trash pickup that's literally just a guy in a truck who occasionally carries garbage from the door to the dumpster here on property. All the front porches are now covered in garbage bags. It smells rancid in summer - especially combined with the dog poop they don't pick up. Adding insult to injury, for all these new "luxuries", they've almost doubled the rent. I'm desperately searching for a new apartment, and any place run by Western Wealth, I don't even look at it. I know all too well how they run an apartment complex.
Not a luxury complex, new management is awful. Nothing is fixed, complex is filthy, they find new reasons to add fees to your lease constantly. They now force parking stickers with proof of insurance and registration with 24 hour towing for anyone who stays the night and isn’t registered. There is no playground, the car wash is always broken, pools closed. I am gone as soon as my lease is up. Everyone I know has already left or is leaving. Look elsewhere! Renter beware!!

Time, Money & Stress. This Property Is Not Luxury Nor Professionally Managed. Maintenance Does Not Take Place. People Are Yelling, Cursing & Running Around The Grounds In The Late Night & Early Morning Hours, Hiding In The Bushes, People Parked In Cars That Do Not Reside On Property. There Are No Safety Measures Nor Security Cameras For This Property. Not A Safe Environment For A Single Person Or Children.

Where do I begin? 1) They are not luxury...spend an extra 100 or so a month and get a better place. 2) The trash is overflowing EVERY week. People illegally dump here. Have seen people who do not live here back up a truck and dump it in dumpster. The apartment management response to this is to offer valet trash service that YOU pay extra for. 3) They have a portal that they do not respond to. Put in a work order over a week ago using portal and it just says it's under review. 4) There is no security patrol or anything. There have been multiple times in the year that we have lived here that it would have been nice. 5) People speed through the parking lot all the time. I could write more. We would have moved out this year but couldn't make it happen. Will not be renewing our lease. Oh they only do year leases. Just look elsewhere!! Save yourself!!

This is my first place moving into the DFW area and I love it !! The management team is so nice and accommodating to any needs , the apartment itself has a very open floor plan, super spacious rooms and quiet community. Yes they are older buildings but they very well maintained . Super happy with my transition to DFW area !

What a nice place to live. The community is very clean. The office staff is amazing and are there to help every resident. Maintenance guys do a great job and are very quick. Highly recommend Somerset Apartments.

Somerset has been a wonderful place to live! Maintenance is quick to respond and efficient in their work. If any problems arise, they will leave a note on your door of what happened or if some kind of scheduled maintenance will be happening. The staff has always been super helpful specifically, Chloe and Krystal in the office and one of the maintenance men (I didn't catch his name, but he helped me change a tire one morning IN THE RAIN!!).
Krystal is amazing! She was the one who helped me sign my lease. I'm thankful for her - living at Somerset has been a great experience.
These apartments are NASTY! Do not live here unless you wanna live with horrible smells through the complex because they never clean the outsides. There are gnats everywhere flying around. The place is not well taken care of. Some people have like 20 kids living in one apartment. This place is not worth your time or your money. So happy to be moving out. Oh and the crime is bad too.

Overall this is a good apartment. This is located right off 1-35 near Vista Ridge mall. What I like about this place is that it is really nice and spacious on the inside. All of the utilities are fine and appliances are sufficient(they don't have a microwave so you have to bring your own) As far as dislikes, it looks worse on the outside than the inside. That may drive some potentials away. There was also a car break in earlier this year, but I have never felt unsafe and I have been outside all hours of the night. So overall this is a good no frills apartment. If you want something a little more upscale, look for the apartments near the Coppell border. If you want to pay less/get less, look up apartments north of Somerset.
I have been in this apartment for many years. They are very clean and well maintained. The maintenance staff is awesome here. They take care of things right away. The management and office staff workers are great. They try to do things for our community to keep us happy and meeting each other. My only wish is that irenters that have been here 10 or more years should be given a discount on rent, rather than rising our rent every year for our loyalty and paying rent always on time. We deserve this or at least one months free a year.
Somerset is an okay place to stay. The location is in a high traffic area. The grounds are kept clean for the most part. The staff is not the greatest with customer service, but certainly not the worst. Maintenance is pretty quick to respond to any issues. Apartment themselves aren't the greatest of quality for the price. The walls are incredibly thin, and you can always hear your neighbors. They're not stellar but not the worst either. There have been a few reports of breakins since we moved here, but seems fairly quiet for the most part after 10pm.
I am happy we found the apartment we have... we had such great help, with apartment finders, getting responses from different apartments all over was great. We did not feel alone looking for an apartment , we had lots of help, thanks to u all.
These apartments had to be the best by far. The prices were affordable and the apartments were perfect... The only thing I did not like of course: They didn't have any available at the time I needed to move....:-(
We are in our move in phase, so still getting settled. So far I've seen a very active police force in the area. The location puts you close to plenty of entertainment, restaurants, and shopping areas. Staff has been friendly, and informative. Parking has not been a daily fight. Still need time to further evaluate the place.
I will be moving back to Somerset @ the end of this month - I lived there 5 years ago but needed a larger apartment & there were none available @ that time - I love the square kitchen in the model I lived in & will be living in - I really do not like galley kitchens - the aparments, laundry, pool area & grounds are clean & well maintained - the office & maintenance staff are GREAT - there are no negatives about this complex
