Property Ratings at Somerset
Cats, cat food, flies, gnats, homeless folks, dog poop, trash, walmart shopping carts, and overflowing dumpsters. Roaches on porches and patios. Most reviews mention roaches inside units. My vehicle was keyed by a neighbor/resident. My vehicle was vandalized twice here. Office staff speak extremely rude to residents. Office staff lies alot. Under new management 4 times in less than 4 years. Regardless of lease mngrs make new rules and fees

I’ve only been here for a week and already seen roaches & gnats. There’s also poop all in the grass and cats everywhere which makes it stink real bad.

I'm so sorry Please call me the office so I can take care of this matter
I’m moving back to HTown I stopped in the staff was amazing and super friendly. The one bedrooms are spacious and clean. It’s hard to find a one bedroom with w/ dryer connections for that price. I can’t to move back home????
Aside of staff being extra rude and insensitive to some issues we had pending rent, roaches all in kitchen, restroom’s!! Restroom by living room doesn’t have ventilation at all so ceilings have mold now. That little fan doesnt help one bit. Tried telling them and they never came to fix. Sinks are sinking and we are on second floor . The AC never turns off . Ceilings water damage, windows doors not sealed correctly you can always feel cold/hot air coming through cracks. Porch on second floors look like they are falling apart. We moved here simple fact we needed ASAP the worse decision!!!! Front office ladies need to show and be more respectful! You get our attitude when you start rolling your eyes, and hanging up mid explanation.

Hello,Thank you for your feedback. Please email somerset@maderaresidential.com so we may take care of any issues.
I’ve been here for a month and so far so good. My neighbors are friendly and every maintenance request I put in was answered same day. They give you an apartment check list upon move in to mark any previous damage. Everything was clean upon move in and the agent actually reached out to make sure the apartment was in good condition and I didn’t have any issues. The complex is clean and it’s pretty quiet. It’s not a luxury complex so if you looking for that this is not it just look at the rent prices, but what I will say is for the location, size, school district, and professionalism it works for me! I’ve seen way worse!
2 minutes agoNEW Would give it 0 stars if I could. Not a place to live long term, the rent was cheap enough to save some money for a year, but then they decided to add a mandatory technology package which adds an extra $85 to the rent. Got a notice on my door because my bike is on the balcony, yet my next door neighbors routinely leave garbage bags filled with used, horrendous smelling, cat litter on their front door step in addition to a pot filled with water and left over food in it. Also be prepared for brown water, terrible smelling backflow in the toilet, and roaches. Don't expect quality outta this place.

Hello, Please come to the office for more information about our new Technology Package and to address any issues you may be having.
This property has no concern for their residents. They only care about your money, the maintenance is terrible, water is not consistent,. I've had a hole with BLACK MOLD around it in my spare bathroom for 3 months that I reported twice but they want to charge me for a pet that I've already paid a deposit for....

I moved in last September 2020. Let me tell you why NOT to move here .things I have experience myself. • there is mold all over grass • there are random shooting• there a lot of frequently pipes problem leading to no hot water every month• the light flickers • they have roaches •the walls are thin ,so loud neighbors Stomping on your head • flooded sidewalk when it rains. •someone keeps breaking the gate door handles. • WE FOUND A HOMELESS WOMEN SLEEPING IN OUR PORCH. Also ,Last month when my boyfriend turn in the rent he put the wrong phase number on the rent ,So the leasing office tried to evict us in 2 days during the pandemic. They won't care to put you out on the street and take your money. Luckily we got the problem fix by telling the office that the rent was turn into wrong phase. They told us that happens a lot and left. The only good thing about this place is that maintenance is quick ! THE REVIEW ARE BAD FOR A REASON

I love it here! The management and staff is so awesome always working hard and when it comes to issues it’s fixed expeditiously. This property has really turned around, I’m so excited to see what’s next to come for our community.

If i could give this place a 0 i would. I currently live here and i hate it. The area is very unsafe, from the junkie neighbors that keep you up screaming outside during one of their trips to people smoking pot out side. I have almost been robbed going up the stairs to my apartment. The management is awful and have lost paperwork and not sent me needed paperwork many times. Then the roaches are awful. I've gotten my apartment fumigated a few months ago and the roaches are already bad again. There's holes in the ceiling near the only 2 light features (in the kitchen and dinning room) that they crawl out of. It takes a act of god to get these people to come fix or replace broken things, for example my dishwasher has been broken for the 13 month's I've lived here amd hasnt been replaced. DO NOT LIVE HERE

this place is very unsafe, I have been here over a year. There has been several shootings, a homicide, robberies, cars break ins, Access gate barely works. Dogs are never on a leash.

neighbors who just moved in are loud and make a bunch of noise in the middle of the week between 10 pm and 4 am told office they said if it keeps happening call the cops. In the 5 months ive been here ive never seen a dope baggy anywhere near my apt much less at all really but since these same problematic neighbors moved in ive found three and they've been here about a month. the apts hired tow company put a sticker on my car saying it will be towed cause its non operable i have ten days to fix it the only issue is it wont pass emissions so cant get it tagged the vehicle runs great again just expired tags. i even have it insured, but they said its non operable since its not tagged and i said if its non operable how did i just drive to work this morning and back and have it parked outside your office running still if its not operating she said it doesnt matter if it runs or not its not tagged so it will be towed at my expense. roaches are horrible they blame us even though weve had this place clean they still eat through boxed goods. there are an abundance of stray cats. i was told this was a secured gated apartment complex but both gates have been stuck open for about two months i still do not even have my gate card, not that it would do much good. the laundry room ive used once cause its overpriced and clothes dont get cleaned. the kids around here use it to smoke pot in and have sex in (saw like 4 or 5 pot roaches and 2 condoms) the first and last time i used it. maintenance was decent when i first moved in with the few problems i had when i moved in but now they take about three to four days to get back to me. the office said they will not put screens in the windows since im on the bottom floor.... so how am i supposed to keep flies and other bugs out if i want my windows open they said buy my own screens. i still cannot open my bedroom window they wont come unlock it. took them a week to take off the living room window locks. the rents not bad and the dishwasher and fridge are brand new. also last night at about 3 am somebody sped through the driveway doing about 25 and slammed on there brakes screeching there tires about 5 times before leaving. i have a baby that keeps getting woke up in the middle of the night . I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!!! please look for a better alternative.
They won't let me write my long review on here, so here's the short version: 1. Phase 1 is horrible. It's old and falling apart. Everything leaked water and mold EVERYWHERE. It was bad. 2. They paint over EVERYTHING, even the power and cable outlets. 3. LOTS OF SHOOTINGS! 4. Lots of bugs, but we were able to keep them at a minimum. If YOU let bugs get bad, they WILL. Don't be a slob. 5. Maintenance was usually really bad. But that seems to be the norm. 6. Drug deals in the parking lot. Rosie was a great help, she works in the office. We got most of our deposit back, we didn't do anything but clean a lot. They let us stay extra months with no issue. It was very helpful. The location and the crime is just horrible. You get what you pay for I guess.
people moved in next down they brought roaches with them and when I tell management they had a guy drop less than a tbs of boric acid in the bathroom
I love my place. It was hectic because I was on my butt looking for a place to move to in a week. You could Imagine I was under a lot of pressure, but honestly I stayed up all night looking through apps to help my stress. I came across apartment.com ( not knowing about it, cause I had no t.v ) where I was temporarily staying. I surfed this app for 9 1/2 hours, the next morning I called somerset Apts and behold the had a apt getting cleaned ready to be rented!. I was emotionally excited because the "friend" I was staying with was acting funny about me crashing there, upsetting but I was determined.. Thank technology for making desperate situations a little easier. Now, I've been in my place for a few months, and couldn't have done it with out life saving apps like Apartments.com.
The apartment are ok the area is quiet but the mantince sucks it took three months for them to come fix or ac
I have lived in Phase 1 of the apartments since the beginning of 2015. A few pros regarding the apartments are that tenants are fairly quite and keep to themselves, parking is not too bad and maintenance has not taken too long with our work orders. But unfortunately the cons weigh much more. There is no parks for children anywhere near. The worse would be the cockroaches. It does not matter how long a room is, roaches are hiding everywhere. My girlfriend states she hears gunshots not too far away and pretty occasionally, but I never seen any reports or news of incidents occurring after these events. I don't mind the place with the exception of the pest issue, but that's a deal breaker. Gotta move
These apartments are very nice. The office staff are courteous and helpful. There is plenty of light in parking lot and around the property. The grounds are clean and kept up.
