Jackson, the City with Soul, is the largest city in Mississippi. Burned down three times during the Civil War, Jackson has also served as the setting of major events during the Civil Rights Movement, many of which are commemorated with Mississippi Freedom Trail Markers throughout the city. Learning about an array of subjects is easy in Jackson, which is home to a number of museums including the Old Capitol Museum, Mississippi Children’s Museum, Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, and the Smith Robertson Museum and Cultural Center.
The music, arts, culinary, and culture scenes are all booming in Jackson. Residents can listen to live music at F. Jones Corner or One Block East, appreciate art at any of the many downtown galleries or the Mississippi Museum of Art, experience fine dining at restaurants such as Manship Wood Fired Kitchen and Bully’s Restaurant, and even witness the International Ballet Competition at Thalia Mara Hall.

Property Ratings at Somerset Place
It was nasty I have pictures we had to clean up the whole apartment the cost was 300. The employees are very rude and unprofessional. Maintenance is horrible you might as well forget about it, we had to be on their backs about the problem. They Force us to pay for their renter Insurance even tho we had our own. The apartment was felling apart. It was a horrible leak that mess up the my vacuum I paid for. The dishwasher didn’t work and they never came to fix it. I wish it was more reviews on the apartment complex before I move in because these reviews would of save me a lot of money.

Parking is sufficient. However the entire complex, outside and inside, is dated. Kitchens look 20-30 years old. Paint is peeling, and the buildings need siding, repairs, not just paint. Also, the laundry room is constantly dirty. Dryers often are not working. Six dryers, and often only two (2) are working. Maintenance is slow to reply to requests. Have made three (3) requests for leaky faucet, and it still has not been fixed after three (3) months.
These apartments are so bad that my boyfriend and I wanted to break our lease after the first day of staying here! We ignored the red flags while viewing the apartments because this is our first one, but I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY HERE! The first day we moved in there was a big candle stain on the floor, which means they didn’t change the carpets. The storage door did not have a knob and we had to keep asking for one to be on there! There was no shower rod in the bathroom, and the tub nozzle fell off each time we tried to use it. Also the water pressure in the sink was really low. They fixed all of that TWO WEEKS after me constantly reminding them to. Maintenance is horrible, we went almost 2 months without heat in the winter. I called and went to the office every week but no one ever came! The only reason it got fixed is because I seen a maintenance man walking and told him about it. The paint job is horrible in the bathroom and kitchen. Tub paint is peeling and every time I tried to take a bath there were flakes in the water so now we only shower. The outside appearance of the whole complex is dirty!! The wood on some of the patios look rotten.

We are truly saddened that your experience was not as great as we would have liked. We take bad reviews very seriously so we can further improve operations and resident satisfaction, and we would like to ensure that your experience is better next time.
Before moving in, a friend of mine who is a local warned me not to, but I did not listen. This has been a nightmare since day1. When I got my keys and did an initial walkthrough, the place was dirty so the cleaning lady had to be called prior to me moving in. I reported my sink being stopped up and it was not fixed until weeks later. As a full time government employee, it is not always easy for me to get to the office during the day. Trying to contact management via phone and email is like pulling teeth. The courtesy officer is rude and unprofessional; I would not trust him to keep watch of a fish. The grounds are not ket clean. The buildings are outdated and need repairs. Tenant concerns are not addressed in a timely manner. In such a nice area, this apartment complex is really out of place. Please save your money and go elsewhere. As soon as my lease is up, I will be moving to pay a little bit more money for more peace of mind.

This is Home to me!!!! Head Mana Ms Toni has been the greatest Landlord I’ve had!! She is always there to meet my needs in my Apartment!! And her Staff is excellent including Ms T and the maintenance workers!! The day Ms Toni leave will be my last lease!! And I’ve been here 10 years!!
I love the fact that I am next to everything and I do not have to drive a long ways to get to where I need to go. On top of that, the office staff was more than welcoming and willing to help me each step of the way. Great community and excellent location!

Thank you for your wonderful review! We agree that the location we have to offer is wonderful and provides our residents with easy access to multiple amenities.
This apartment on the street where separate the counties and 2 cities. The capital of Mississippi which is Jackson and Ridgeland. My apartment is right across the strew from the mall and I am able to play basketball and be active with my son in the pool area. All the good restaurant such as Apple Bees are down the street.
