Less than 20 miles east of Phoenix, the city of Mesa is Arizona’s third-largest city and is home to nearly half a million residents. The low cost of living, affordable apartments, and family-friendly environment make Mesa a highly sought-after suburb in Arizona’s suburban desert. Although Mesa sits within a short distance of Phoenix – making it the ideal location for commuters – many residents work inside the city of Mesa itself for local employers in the medical, aerospace, and retail industries.
Mesa locals take advantage of the city’s constant sunshine, whether they’re catching a Cactus League ball game at Hohokam Stadium or tubing down the Salt River. The surrounding desert landscape is extremely popular with mountain bikers, hikers, and campers. The scenery is truly unbeatable, especially in the sprawling Tonto National Forest to the northeast.
This town is rather quiet, with a focus on community and local history, rather than a bustling nightlife scene.

Property Ratings at Sonoran Palms
Name ANYTHING that you rate a place to live by, this place is a 0/10. Bugs. Heat/AC aweful. DISGUSTING laundry. Management never answers, and are extremely rude and unhelpful. Century link DSL ONLY. To top it off, they will keep your security deposit. They should be shut down.

Hello, We deeply apologize for your experience. It seems like you are disappointed, and we would love to hear more about where we fell short. Please reach out to our team at your earliest convenience.
no heat, no hot water, gross, barely working laundry, so few machines for the amount of units .. Century Link DSL only .. I can't imagine there is a worse apartment complex in Mesa.
This is place is falling apart, it's not being maintained well enough, the second floors concrete are cracking and loosen, during the summer the ac doesn't work well enough, and people have gotten ripped off by the office.

So far I have no complaints, the past reviews by others seem scary, I've only been here for about two and a half months and just don't see anything bad as of yet. If there is an issue it would be the cable side that's part of the rent, I still can't get the issue fixed, but that's Cox (I think) so, I'll deal with it thru them. I will give a more detailed review after I've been here longer.

The WORST management and complex in the world. Didn’t get air conditioning until end of October after I had moved in July! Roaches everywhere. Constantly getting broken into. Needles all over the ground. Walls are paper thin you can hear everything. The staff is EXTREAMLY rude. I couldn’t even make it 6 months there and within that time watched 3 different managements take over because it is so bad there. They don’t take anyone serious and if they have a problem with you they REFUSE to help! Everyone who lives in the section away from office hates it there and have weekly meetings about what to do because is so horrible. I’m not one to complain but this place is a joke! Don’t waste time or money the apartments are gross. The wood is rotting in almost every unit. Just an all around piece of junk. Really don’t go there. If I could do no stars I would!
They will tell you that you have a secure area to live in the pedestrian gates are always open there are no cameras and very few lights work needless to say several vehicles were broken into and the apartment will say park at your own risk and explain to you that they know of no area where break ins don’t happen this is not even including how long it takes them to fix the ac which goes out several times every summer. They then tried to bully me with eviction notices when I wanted to break my lease

I have lived at Sonoran home since February 2016. When I first moved in I was lied to about the renovation on my apartment I was shown prefab cabinet doors for the kitchen and when I finally got into my apartment I realized that they never put up the new cabinet doors. They simply spray-painted the original cabinet and didn't even think to spray a protective coating over the paint so that if you needed to wipe them down he wouldn't like the paint off. The next problem is that there is Roach and bed bug problem. my neighbor has set off several roach bomb and every time they come back and the management never seem to give any sort of notice whenever there is a professional pest exterminator coming and if you have a pet then your apartment does not get sprayed. My mailbox is been broken into several times since I've lived here I have the addressed this with management and all I get is file a police report. nothing is ever really done about it. I have been charged extra money on multipe occasions the rent because the manager was not in the office to take the payment and therefore I was late paying rent. I have stood outside of the office and given them A call just to see if they would pick up the phone and on several occasions and I'll watch them pick up the ringing phone and then set it back down ignoring my phone call. There is police here every week due to domestic disturbances and that there have been several deaths as well as the two apartment fires. The best part is that on December 21, 2015 The water heater went out. normally this wouldn't be a big deal but this is currently January 2, 2017 and I've been without hot water for a grand total of 13 days without a courtesy call or an offer to put me up in a hotel or any sort of rent credit. If you are looking for a safe secure place to live I do not recommend renting from Sonoran palms. it is a waste of money it is a waste of time. not to mention you probably won't be safe living here I know I don't feel safe. I will not be renewing my lease in February.

The complex has been sold twice since I've lived here, this new company is better than the rest but still has some flaws.... -Months ago they started painting the building, stopped, then starting building a dog park instead, today the building is still unfinished. -If a package is sent to your house and your not home someone signs for it at the office, but no one will tell you. -If something needs to be repaired remind the office until someone actually shows up, or it won't happen. -Dryers always break, only 1 out of 6 work now, we tell management but nothings been done so most of us do our laundry else were. -Since it's utilities included, everyone shares an AC that they regulate, AC runs cold so no problem there but whenever they made repairs on it (that means no cold air for you) the notice they gave would be dated days prior but given the day of Factors that were there before they bought the property -Place is notorious for bed bugs and has been delt with multiple times -Windows are so thin you can here people talking inside while you walk by their apartments -Water hot/cold are determined by how many other people are using hot/cold In all fairness it used to be alot worse, fights broke out, two apartments were raided for drugs in the past couple months but most of those people are gone. Still some tweekers at night, but safer than it used to be.
