Less than 120 miles from the Arctic Circle, Fairbanks offers the unique balance of city living on the edge of Alaska’s vast wilderness. While the great outdoors are all around, the urban core doesn’t look terribly different from any other small American city, with a collective of storefronts and mid-rise buildings downtown surrounded by charming homes and apartment communities. The city is home to thousands of students enrolled at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (whose campus can be found on the west end of town), as well as armed service personnel and civilian military employees working at nearby Fort Wainwright and Eielson Air Force Base.

Property Ratings at Sophie Plaza Apartments
Sophie Plaza Apartment’s management are money hungry. I went to install my WiFi, because unlike what they advertise they do not offer WiFi, and they charged an extra $50 to just use their cable port. So my $120 WiFi is now $170. They also only offer 1 parking spot per apartment so in the winter I have to park on the curb behind my girlfriend’s car and run a long extension cable to our electrical outlet. Tried to just dry my tent on our balcony and got a warning that we were violating our lease agreement. They charge and insane rent for the 1980 style apartment scheme. Washer and dryers never work even after notifying the office several times. For inbound military look somewhere else first.
This is a great place no smoking so safe for kids nice people the services are really great. Only 2 down sides have to share washer and dryers and lay for the coins and you aren't allowed anything but fish and caged birds. But other than very spacey and can come furnished or unfurnished with a year lease you get free cable
Has furnished/unfurnished options with month to month, six month and year long lease contracts. There are one and two bedroom apartments available; ranging in size from 600-980 square feet, each with a balcony. The apartment complex has an outdoor jogging track, picnic areas, tennis and volleyball courts. Tenants have assigned parking spots with plug ins for vehicles. There is also available parking for motor homes and a storage facility on site. Sophies Plaza apartments is conveniently located close to restaurants, shopping and the airport.
