Mantenice request are usually answered pretty quickly. I have had no problems with management. I wish there were more study rooms, but it is usually quite around 11pm. I haven’t had any problems

Great building and amenities but the residents don’t care about keeping the place nice. Trash rooms are always full and people leave their trash on the hallway floor instead of in the valet bins. Certain floors always smell like marijuana.

Overall, good facility. Some things like location and traffic aren't always ideal, but the apartment is nice. My complaint would be constant random fire alarm checks or easily triggered and a lot of fire trucks pass this area daily.

I really like my home and the surrounding area here at Southalex. Dishwasher has been broken for over 10 days and I haven’t been given any update. Management gets switched all the time but no one is actually good and the one bald guy that works at the front desk is very rude

So far, living here is the best option I did. The building is nice clean, I have everything I need around grocery store. Is close to the freeway and close to DC. My neighbors are very quiet sometimes I believe that I live alone and all this building. I always get my package in my previous apartment building. I always get lost my packages but here I always find it. Even if my package arrived super late they delivered in front office And nobody touch it from there. Love it. All the building amenity are great the pool the gym, . I’m going for two years now And I haven’t get no issue. Plus, the employer they really friendly and they always help us. We always had an update of any issue or somethings going on in our neighbor or with the building.

The noise level is beginning to increase by the night. There’s also a resident who resides here ( I believe them to be new here) who believes it is okay to speed and make obnoxiously loud noises with their car during quiet hours, everyday. Typically, when you enter a neighborhood at night or exit early morning, one is usually mindful of the noise levels knowing that there are families around. But it never fails. Wakes us up everytimeeeee!

Place is very nice and it’s in a great location. Management is great and always super helpful always responsive. Clean building, however, a good chunk of the residents are really dirty. They don’t throw the trash away right causing the room to overfill and they are always putting bulk items in there when they shouldn’t be. Otherwise a good chunk or clean and everyone is very polite around here.

Overall, South Alex is nice to live, but too many people smoking in the garage, nearby the pool. The smell is very bad for residents aspecially kids. Everytime, when I just open the door to access the garage, the smell just go through my nose, my head which is so headache. Also, the pool is only opened short term from Jun to August. This is a minust point sine we pay amenity fee for the whole year. We would love if the pool can be opened a little longer since the weather is still very warm, summer is not over yet.

Being a South Alex resident has been a terrible experience from onboarding to the present. Many staff persons, both desk liaisons and maintenance, are rude and do not value tenants. They do not communicate properly regrading missing mail or responding to maintenance requests. What makes it worse is they are supported at the regional and corporate levels. Oh, and any given day, you may walk through the indoor halls and have to step over dog poop from residents. I would not recommend anyone to move here! This has been the worst living experience of my life and I have successfully lived in three states and own property in one. If I could select zero stars, I would!

I’ve lived here since Spring 2023. I would not recommend anyone move here. The apartments are alright. The outdoor noise is excessive. Things don’t work like they should. Rental office staff isn’t helpful. You just don’t get your moneys worth.

Great place to live with lots of convenience. The location of the apartment gives you quick access to bus, metro and old town Alexandria. There are a lot of restaurants within 5 minute walking distance if you feel like eating out instead of cooking at home. Access to the gym 24/7 is also a major plus.

This spot is walkable to so many stores and restaurants, and I can’t even tell you how many times we have been downstairs to Aldi! So convenient. From the front desk to maintenance, all interactions have been awesome!

Very great place as they have a lot to offer in and around the apartment. The management and maintaince is a little slow, Along with the mail room they are very unorganized.

very cool place i love living here. I love how clean it is and how lively it can be. One amenity I enjoy is the gym. A good gym at an apartment cannot be overlooked, South Alex knows what they are doing.

I moved here about 6 months ago and the building is well kept. The facilities are always very clean and well maintained. The maintenance team is always responsive. The only con is the mail room. The tablets are often broken along picking up packages a hassle.

I've lived at southAlex for some months now and love the location, close to shops and public transport. The modern amenities like the gym and pool are excellent. The apartment is spacious and bright, and management is responsive. However, noise from neighbors and the street can be bothersome, and parking is limited. Overall, a solid choice for city living.

The apartment complex as a whole is very nice. Great amenities and awesome gym. However the front office has made my time here the most frustrating. First off, communication does not exist. I get different information from each of them every time I have a question or request. On my move in day, it took 8 hours to even get my actual key or parking pass. And that’s with me continuously asking for it. Ron from maintenance was a big help, he made sure my move in day was improved since the leasing office just completely forgot about me once I left their immediate view. On top of this, I’ve had maintenance requests since I moved in that still are not completed 2 months later. The staff is always kind and I appreciate that but I should not have to ask weekly for an update on why my apartment is not getting fixed and continuously be told the same excuse with zero change. I most likely will not be renewing my lease but it’s not been an awful experience either. It’s safe and nice at least.

The apartment is spacious and nice. It has big windows. ALDI market is onsite, that is so convenient. We got 2 month rent free, half of admin free and parking free.

So far it is good apartment to call home. This 1 bed room 715 sqf is big enough for two of us. But let split in pro and con *Pro Everything in the room is almost new and clean. The room has big windows and balcony. Have Aldi on the first floor, and so many stores, restaurants coming soon. The hallway is quiet and cold. The amenities are clean and have a good gym. Not so many equipments but clean and it's enough for me. We got a good offer with 2 month rents free, free parking and half of admin fee. *Con Maybe just for me, you can hear the ambulance siren. It's hard to contact by phone. I'm just moving here for a week, will update later. Sum of, it's a right choice to move here.

WORST PLACE TO LIVE - DO NOT LEAVE EARLY POSITIVE REVIEW

This is the absolute worst place to live. Management never responds to complaints and are always difficult to reach. They always operate in the most shady manner and do not care for what is best for you. Feels like lighting money on fire to live here. Not to mention the power outages, stinky hallways, rude staff, dog poop stained floors. Disgusting! Such a disgrace. I don't even have the energy to type up the most horrible experiences I have had here, a complete waste of time.
