Property Ratings at South Rock Apartment
I lived here for two years. Enjoyed the room, even though it took a solid month for the smell of dog urine to waft away from the previous owners. We also had to pay for our full first month of August, despite not being allowed to move in until late August. We had to camp at slippery rock campground for the first week of our school pre-session. Not a great start. While living there, we were charged a hefty bill for locking ourselves out of the apartment - maintenance is about 40-80 bucks after hours. (Their rate seemed to change a lot...always more than the previous time). Never forget your keys, kids! We were never told there was laundry on the second floor - dont know how that missed us - didnt find out until our second year living there, when a peer told us. Just poor communication sometimes. Overall, I had loads of fun living here. Quiet place (except for the fire alarm that goes off every time you open the oven to get your dish in or out), no disrupting parties in the building, and an easy walk to SRU campus or the bar. I recommend taking pictures of where all the furniture is placed at the beginning - they charged me for having to move chairs at the end of my lease. Lol. (One of the many charges I wasnt expecting. Maybe scrub the walls? It looks like I got charged for not doing that. Also got charged because it smelled "musty." Maybe that's because they require you to shut and lock all windows when you leave? Not sure how they charge for that. Laughable. Also - you're allowed to have shelves but will get secretly charged for not filling in your holes. Just poor communication and hard to read forms "that explain it all"). I'm not sure I'd recommend.
