Between the neighbors slamming the doors at all hours of the day and night, people arguing and damaging the property, people with kids and stereo systems playing in the middle of the night(I.e. 1-3am) along with constant complaints of mice and nothing has been done in over 2 months. Calling the office is pointless, they say they’ll have someone come out and no one shows. I have been here 2 years and have been dealing with these issues consistently. For the amount of money I am spending in rent this is ridiculous, they’re quick to put a notice on the door when you pay your rent late or call you when your behind on utilities but won’t invest in handling the same issues.
People are always parking illegally, there are abandoned cars everywhere, there is trash everywhere, apartments are rodent infested, there is black mold in the apartments, but GOD forbid you dont pay your rent by the 5th.....you will be in court!!
Abraham is absolutely wonderful! Top notch! Fixes all maintenance issues quickly and is extremely friendly. He checks on our building periodically and makes sure everyone is happy and safe. Always my #1 priority. Maintainance staff and Housekeeping Team - goes the extra mile for our complex!! Really appreciate the extra efforts. SouthGate is a beautiful (suburban) pet friendly community - just a “hop and a skip” from everything! Waterlife is my fav. :) Many positive changes w/ SGT MGMT recently. Just like all of us in business— they are striving to “push through” (life) after pandemic. We’re all doing the best we can do. Many thanks to all. Regards, C
We have been in constant contact with the management office and they have done nothing to actually enforce the lease. No one is to loiter in the stairwells and we as I'm typing this have 5 kids in the stairwell yelling, fighting, playing music and bouncing a basket ball even throwing it at my door like its some kid of joke. We have the right to not have any funky smells in the building aka clean air and we don't get that there's a consistent smell of pot coming from everywhere especially from the teenagers who are smoking it in the stairwell. not to mentions there's no respect in the parking lot as my car has accumulated a large amount of scratches from other people.
The neighbors are loud, one of them parks in between parking spots directly in front of the door, and everyone smokes pot in the stairwell and I’m allergic. Management refuses to fix the problems.

A&G Management takes all resident concerns seriously and our staff is always eager to listen and assist residents in any way possible. Our goal is for all residents to have peace of mind and enjoy their homes. Thank you for reaching out to us to settle this matter.
Our move in process was good with Melvenia and Kathie (who orchestrated our corporate lease/furniture and housewares rental). It took a few weeks and some extra calls/emails to get the complete package of our houseware rentals, but overall the move in was smooth. We moved in and the apartment looked like (fresh paint and new carpet) however things started to slowly fall apart. Paint chipping on the walls and on the bottom of the bathtub, we had the A/C leak and break twice which, the second time, took them two days and multiple phone calls to finally come fix it as promised. Our kitchen sink sprung a leak, maintenance said they'd arrive in 20 minutes and we ended up calling them back 45 minutes later when they didn't show. The maintenance man asked me to leave the top part of door unlocked and they would could fix it after we left for work. Really anytime we call maintenance or have a scheduled visit they never show when they say. Lots of miscommunication/lack thereof. It's an older apartment complex, and things seem to just have patch-up work done and are not truly being fixed. The vinyl kitchen floor ripped just under the refrigerator and we were able to fix it (as we have since noticed other portions of the vinyl in kitchen and main entryway were fixed the same way) but Kenya (property manager) demanded it would still cost us $300 to have it fixed or she wouldn't process our transfer/move-out request. As far as the complex it is kept fairly nice landscape-wise. However, within our first month here we've had two confirmed delivered packages disappear from our doorstep (no cameras in the main staircase areas and the main doors into the buildings are kept unlocked). At least the complex took action to prevent further stolen packages by offering them to be delivered to the main club house but still is frustrating to have them been stolen at all. Also it's inconvenient there are not laundry room facilities in every building as we were originally told. No dishwashers in unit either (as stated on website) Day before move-out we come home after dinner to notice parts of the ceiling above our deck/patio door have literally fallen off, crumbled into pieces on the carpet. My husband and I chose this complex because of price and convenience/location to work. However we are are moving out after 3 months. We do not recommend moving to this complex.

We have shared your post with our maintenance department, because as capable as our Southgate team is in the field – and they are excellent – communication is key and no one should have to wait longer than expected for repairs to be made. I currently live here and would not recommend it to anyone. The quality of the apartments is so poorly put together. The rent continues to go up .. drugs and crime all the time. DO NOT MOVE HERE
I'd like to commend the Southgate Apt staff for their professionalism. I was in a situation that I needed a place to stay immediately. The application/approval process didn't take long at all, I moved into my apt in a week. I have lived here for 4 months and it has been quite pleasant. My neighbors are quiet and respect the property. The staff has responded the same day when I've requested maintenance assistance. I have not seen any pest or rodents. :)..and they exterminate often. The company had a movie day during the summer, free for tenants and family. They have offered other free events as well. I would definitely recommend living here. Rachel J, Glen Burnie, Maryland
The apartment is nice and clean and the rental office is very helpful and the maintenance people keep everything very clean and maintained. Its a nice place to live we just need a 2 bedroom apartment now
As my first place on my own it's been decent a struggle. As a single mom I do my best but unfortunately I was unable to secure a great place ! I love my own place but it has its down side also the manager is not very nice maintenance is horrible. But once again it's my first place and being able to have a place of my own makes it worth while.
This is an adorable older property, but management is doing a remarkable job up-grading the building and the amenities. Visual improvement over the year is apparent.
