Property Ratings at Southmoor
One of the best experiences I have had at an apartment. The facilities are well maintained, maintenance is amazing and very quick to respond, office staff is friendly and very helpful, the have community events often, and the apartments are well maintained and look great. Highly recommend!!!
After moving back to this area we looked at lots of places online and I personally toured many apartments until I found Southmoor. I am glad I did. The setting is very nice; in a former golf course. Our hillside balcony view was great. We only moved from Southmoor to get back into a house. The office staff was courteous and helpful. The maintenance staff was prompt and friendly. There were many older people like ourselves. When you are used to a home it is a transition and adjustment going to an apartment but it was definitely easy more care free living. Also Southmoor has some really fun events so that was a plus. Definitely great memories!
Katelyn, Sarah, and the assistant manager are awesome. The maintenance crew always response quickly. I love the events that they host for the residents. Paint and Sip was the best. I didn't know that many people when I moved in and since this event I have friends that I keep in touch with. We had an art teacher, art supplies, adult beverages, and dinner one night. I painted a picture that turned out really good thanks to the art teacher. There's always something to do with the dog park, tennis courts, pool, and basketball court. Its quiet and serene most of the time. I just love it here and I am happy to call it home.
I’ve lived here over a year now and this is the best apartment complex I’ve ever lived in. Quiet, maintenance is very fast and helpful, and the outside is always so clean
I am new to St Louis and must say they are conveniently located. You can hear noise from nearby neighbors but nothing too overwhelming. Only been here a few months so not much to say. I like it so far. I will update if anything changes.
The following is my honest opinion based on multiple interactions and time spent on the property, do your own research: DON'T FALL FOR THE POSITIVE REVIEWS THAT THEY ENCOURAGE, READ THE BAD ONES! THEY PRETEND TO BE PET FRIENDLY, BUT COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR PET, In my opinion (read on). Courtney at the office seems very nice until you challenge her on anything, then she gets very boisterous and defensive. In fact, i witnessed this before with another individual in that office. Courtney stated she's the "property manager" but gave me Caitlin's card. Only when i challenged her on it, did she agree to write down ONLY HER FIRST NAME ON THE BACK OF THE CARD... then proceeded to ask me out of the office because she thought i was rude (i was definitely not nice but at no point in any way inappropriate). The issue arose when my dad's dog ran away during the thunderstorm. This dog is his life and he is devastated. We talked to neighbors and we were hoping to get a property wide email out with the dogs picture. WITH ABSOLUTELY ZERO EMPATHY, COURTNEY LET US KNOW THEY "DON'T DO THAT". Mind you I've seen several emails about parties (at the office), maintenance reschedulings, surveys ,etc. Now, i understand, it may be their policy, I'm not going to fight it. BUT, in my opinion the COMPLETE LACK OF EMPHATY OR EFFORT was just appalling for a supposedly "high end" property like this. On that end, from my perspective, and I've spent a lot of time in and at the property... High end is just laughable. They have a garage style storage room on the first level of their townhomes (with a shed style door in the middle of your living room - seriously). Ugly and embarrassing. Semi finished wood posts and beams (hey, at least they're painted). Walls are paper thin and the particular property I've been in squeaks like a mouse, upon every step you make. Drainage issues after thunderstorms. Saw them planting groundhog poison (I'm assuming non toxic systems are too expensive for them) without any warning signs, right where multiple dogs walk. Definitely "pet friendly", right? Avoid the fakeness and marketing. There are much cheaper places to rent that are just as good, in my opinion.
Don’t do it. Staff is incredibly rude. They raised our rent $10 two years in a row and the third year attempted to raise it $200+. The steps are awful. They don’t salt appropriately in the winter. I could go on and on, but in short: don’t move here. Oh, and they won’t send you a final bill at move out, they just send it to collections.

Southmoor Apartments are amazing. The property is very well kept and the managers respond to emails very quickly.
This complex is easy to communicate with, well taken care of, and overall a good place to live. As a young female, this area feels very safe, and as a dog owner, this complex is very accommodating.
We all know perfection is not possible, but Southmoor Apartments complex comes fairly close. The staff are friendly, attentive and efficient (and I am picky about things). The property is very well maintained at all times. In addition, the staff are very creative with fun activities for residents, adults and kids, throughout the year. And, did I mention they are the most pet-friendly complex I have ever seen?
Staff is very responsive and very helpful! We moved 6 hours and even with Covid the helped us tremendously! Other residents are very nice! I love that they not only welcome dogs but they have their own special part!
I have been living at Southmoor Apartments for about seven years now. I have absolutely zero complaints about the entire experience. The property manager, Tasha is beyond professional. She runs an amazing community. I have always felt welcome when I go into the Southmoor office. Her office staff and maintenance crew are exceptional as well. The grounds are always kept spotless and extremely well maintained. Its a welcoming community all around. The few times I have needed maintenance for minor things (microwave, thermostat) they arrive quickly, get the job done and leave no mess behind! They are great. This is a well kept, quiet, family oriented community. You wont find broken down vehicles, parties, loud music, late night activity, etc that sometimes ruin apartment communities here...its not allowed, and I love that! Tasha and her staff go out of their way to plan nice community events (fall festivals, pool activities, etc.) frequently. If you want a quiet, peaceful, and clean community to call home...you will be happy here!
Great and friendly management, pretty little community, reasonably priced. The apartments themselves are only average, however. If you have a lot of things, prepare for absolutely no space to store them. The walls are so ridiculously thin, you will hear every noise your neighbors and their pets make. Kids right outside your door yelling all evening and playing in the parking lot next to your car. Always lock your car doors, as there have been a number of break-ins. Overall a decent place though and probably one of the better apartment living options in South County.
I have been living here at Southmoor Apartment for a year and it is a wonderful place to live! The complex is beautiful and well kept. The staff and maintenance workers are so helpful and organized. The neighborhood is quiet which is nice if you're looking for a quiet area to live. Overall a great place to live even if you have kids!
I love this complex as it is well maintained. It has a swimming pool, bark park, basketball court, children's play area, has some garages. Some apartments and townhouses has washer and dryers or the Leasing office has washing and dryers machines and also exercise equipment. They have different activities such as Easter egg hunt, Pool Parties, etc. If something breaks and you turn it in it is fixed almost the same day you turn it in. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It is a little hilly but that is good for a good walking workout. The leasing office has a activities area with a small kitchen for large parties.
This complex is great. It sits on 30 acres with lots of trees and green space. It is very DOG friendly!! Management is extremely friendly and always ready to help.If you have any problems it is taken care of quickly.There are so many nice amenities and they have several social events a year.For me the important thing is I feel very safe even walking my dog late at night. We are well lit throughout the complex.
Our landscape is lovely with plenty of trees and soft rolling hills and the grounds are well maintained. The complex used to be a golf course so it has natural aesthetic beauty. Both the management and maintenance teams are outstanding in their quick and thorough response to resident's needs and concerns. We have plenty of special activities throughout the year and informative monthly bulletins to enjoy...there's something for everyone. The amenities of a pool, clubhouse, laundry room, in-apartment washer and dryers, and workout room are just a few of the perks thats drew me to this location. I am very content and happy here and enjoy my nice neighbors as well.
I really like the location and surroundings, which are wooded and pet friendly. There are community get togethers so there is areal opportunity to get to know your neighbors. The only draw-back is a lack of storage area. Overall, this is a remarkable place to live!
Just rented an apartment here a few days ago for the next 6 months. The apartment has new carpeting , refrigerator, stove, microwave and the best office staff ever. I am 70 yrs. old and this is the first apartment I have ever leased and the office staff made me feel right at home at a very crucial stage in my life. I am forever grateful.
After looking at over 20 apartments I finally decided on Southmoor. It was a little more money than I wanted to spend but after being here for 3-months I am so happy that I choose this apartment. My last apartment was a nightmare starting with the application process. Everything went very smoothly at Southmoor and the apartment I got was just as nice as the display model they showed me. Definately cannot say the same for my last apartment. The neighbors are friendly & I absolutely love all the amenities. It is worth the money.
I am a current resident of about 6 months at Southmoor. The staff is EXCELLENT! They are very professional and very friendly. The complex is beautiful and well maintained. The location is fairly convenient (I work in the city, but it's still only a 20 minute drive). The neighborhood is very comfortable and safe. Best of all, the pricing at this excellent community is very reasonable with multiple apartment size options. I highly recommend Southmoor!
I can't say enough about my experience at Southmoor! I choose this community because it is close to my work and I liked the amenities and the apartment had a washer & dryer. I have lived here for a year and just renewed my lease. The staff is very friendly and maintenance is prompt. They really seem to care about the residents and the apartments. Everything is well maintained and the landscaping is gorgeous. I am very happy here!
