Property Ratings at Southpark Crossing Apartments
I’ve lived at these apartments now for 3 1/2 years and have never had an issue that wasn’t resolved quickly. The location is excellent with H-E-B and Southpark Meadows just across the highway. ZERO criminal activity the entire time I’ve been here. This is the longest stretch I’ve ever gone without my car being broken into. Recently the complex came under new management, which had me worried. I can honestly say, especially after today regarding issues with my lease renewal, that this management group is as good if not better than the last.
We have been dealing with the lack of communication from management for weeks now. We asked them to hold very important documents we had coming in the mail so a friend could pick it up, when our friend gets there suddenly the mail has been returned to sender and no one told us anything. They are overcharging us for Aprils rent, and nothing is being done about the time where the apartments were unlivable. Nothing has been prorated, no considerations for the renter. Not to mention almost the entire time we lived here amenities were closed, we did not receive any compensation for that. They are NOT flexible and have hardline policies that they stick to and nothing more. There's other apartment complexes nearby that are cheaper and have better management and communication about issues.
This is a great place to live! Me and my husband moved here from out of state, and the staff was very accomidating with helping us with the process. To add the the other reviews: yes, there is a dog park at the end of the complex. It is a nice large, fenced area. However, the grass is dying due to all the dog urine, but that is to be expected! The trash is an issue for this complex, as they only have one dumpster which is not enough for everyone. They try their best to keep things tidy but they really just need to get another one. The parking is not that huge of an issue as everyone is saying it is. There is plenty of room in between vehicles. We bought a car port when we first moved here and we are now taking it off our lease because we do not even use it. Sometimes after 8pm you have to park two complexes down because everyone is home already and walk. But, honestly who cares. We have not had any issues since we moved here, and we are renewing our contract in a month.
When we moved in this place was fantastic! The apartments are amazing and so are the office staff. But the management company sold the complex and since then, it's gone downhill with the new owners. Previously we would have any repairs fixed in a couple of days, now its months. Previously we would have landscaping done every Monday, now its sparodic. The dog mess is all over and they dont seem to get a handle on it. Rubbish is overflowing in the huge bins since they changed the dates for emptying. Special events run by the office used to be common, now its dried up. Fresh fruit available in the common area is no more and even the coffee is ltd now to one or two types. The pool is not maintained as it use to be. One weekend the filters weren't even on, the pool was filthy. The grills didnt work on memorial day weekend either. It's a shame the new management company have cut back so much and turned an A1 complex into a B2 complex. The only thing that hasn't changed is the great office staff, but it seems their hands are tied now and can only apologize. It's a shame, we loved our time here, but are moving on now before it gets any worse.
Sucks no dog parks... before I moved here they said there would be three. I expected more because these are brand new apartments.
we just moved in and we already love this place. the staff is sooo nice and accommodating. the rental process and the paperwork was mostly handled by the leasing agents (Kudos to Hailey and her teammates). this place is a real gem.
