Property Ratings at SOUTHPORT AT BUCK CREEK
The staff was really nice an helpful!! They helped me a lot they have great staff..... the apartments looked nice
Awful. Mold, Floods(weekly), no A/C or heat(and they wont come out to fix it). Live anywhere else besides this terrible place.
I have a friend that lives here and has lived there for years and WARNING these apartments are not as nice as the pictures make it look. There have been two murders in this complex too. I visit him often, though it is hard because the apartment is just disgusting. They are clean, but they got bed bugs from the neighbors, as well as roaches. They have had to be sprayed 4 different times for the bedbugs and several times for the roaches. I had to let him stay at my house ever time this happened. I seriously caution you on this one. I have never met the office staff, so I cannot speak to how their employees are, but I have never heard anything bad about employees/policies/etc. I have no issues with this place besides what it has put my friend through. They will draw you in because they are large and cheap, this is true. However, do you want to live with nasty insects?
This place is horrible! My fiance and I have lived here since the end of October 2017, we called maintenance out since the day we moved in about problems with the flooring being weak, rotted and having black mold on it(as you can see from the basement). Certain spots you can hear the flooring hit the heat/air duct piping when you walk on it. A dishwasher that they've came to repair 3 times and finally replaced, which we barely use. There are holes in our master bedroom flooring which they refuse to repair. The repair men only say that it's fine and ok and we should have noted everything wrong when we moved in, which we did on the renter's move in papers. They've recently updated the bad flooring with fresh fake hard wood Linoleum over the top of the rotted flooring. The patio doors and windows are seriously out of date and freeze up from the condensation freezing, so opening any of them in the winter (if needed) is impossible. The basements leak water when it rains or if it's snowing. so I would suggest against actually using then to store anything in them, which they won't fix. The steps/landing outside our apartment floors when it rains and we had to put down stepping stones so that were not ankle deep in water. Parking in this place is a nightmare! Bushes that never get trimmed block our exit and the trash dumpster blocks another side. So it's a blind shot in the dark when you leave. So far with the snow, I can say they've shoveled the walk ways, which is a plus. Now as for the streets and parking areas, they don't plow them hardly at all. All in all, I would highly suggest against anyone moving into this place!
Relocating to Indianapolis and thought these might be a decent and affordable option, but after reading several bad reviews and discovering several news articles from last week (May 9th 2017) about a tenant that was murdered here, I realized it's just too dangerous and risky to live here. No way I'd risk my safety over affordability. The guy killed had no gang or drug affiliations or criminal past according to his friends and family. Residents there discovered his body on the apt. grounds, how creepy! Why would anyone choose to live in this crime ridden death trap? Multiple gunshots and nobody was concerned enough to search the area, not even police? Clearly this type of thing is common in the area. I'd stay away from here for sure.
We have been without water for 2 days. Toilet broke and flooded the basement. Walls are crumbling from the water. The Board of Health needs to look seriously at this place and we will be calling ASAP. Been calling emergency maintenance and the office and have been completely blown off by both. The water has flooded the wiring in the basement. Violating Landlord Tenant law at this point. Landlord Obligations: A landlord shall do the following: (IC 32-31-8-5) ?Deliver the rental premises to a tenant in compliance with the rental agreement, and in a safe, clean, and habitable condition. ?Comply with all health and housing codes applicable to the rental premises. ?Make all reasonable efforts to keep common areas of a rental premises in a clean and proper condition. ?Provide and maintain the following items in a rental premises in good and safe working condition, if provided on the premises at the time the rental agreement is entered into: Electrical systems, Plumbing systems sufficient to accommodate a reasonable supply of hot and cold running water at all times, Sanitary systems, Heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, Elevators, if provided, Appliances supplied as an inducement to the rental agreement. ?A heating system must be sufficient to adequately supply heat at all times.
If you have another option take it, honestly your car would be a better place to live than Southport Crossing. After the most recent management change things have rolled down hill. Rotten fences, 0 coverage/response from curious officers, there was a shooting one night. Town houses flood, Office staff does not respond to request nor do they treat you with respect. They have an army of maintenance staff but nothing gets fixed, you can expect to wait 90 days or more for EMERGENCY REPAIRS. Also, the kids that live here are out of control, they terrorize the community but because there is no actual curious officer here nothing gets done. Also, the common areas are covered with animal feces and there are over 10 stray cats that live out here. Don't do it. Look somewhere else.
Been a nightmare since day one. Renovations are a joke. Maintenance is incompetent or non-existent. Trash and overflowing dumpsters everywhere. Office staff was only nice the day we signed the lease, and now they are extremely rude. Will be contacting the Board of Health soon. Disgusting.
I will start off by saying that the only reason to give this place even one start is for its location. Right off of Southport road, it is close to shopping, banking, and many conveniences. Beyond that, this is the WORST place to rent that I have ever encountered. My girlfriend just moved out of this place, and it was long overdue that she did. Where to even begin. Well, right now, with the changes from Tuscan Pointe to Southport Crossing, none of the listed phone numbers for this place work. They are all disconnected. So you have to go to the office to have anything addressed. The office staff are far from helpful. They always say that they can't do anything without speaking to the manager. The manager, of course, is never in the office. Maintenance is a joke. The onsite laundry in my girlfriend's building broke down around Thanksgiving of 2014 and when we moved her out on 08/28/15 they had still not been fixed. The roof above the stairwell leaked from the day she moved in. It caused mold to grow across the ceiling, and the stairs would freeze in the winter. Her toilet started running and would not stop. Calls were made, as were visits to the office, on a twice weekly basis, and no one came to fix anything. We went to the office to turn her keys in after we got her moved out. The person that was there (not the manager) took her keys but did not provide her with anything to sign. She asked if there was a form she needed to fill out, and they said "No, you're all set." Cut to 09/03/15, and lo and behold, her rent for this place was deducted from her checking account since she had online payments enabled. We go to the office to get a refund, they tell us that she wasn't supposed to move until 09/07, which was wrong. They told her that they never received her keys, and that her move out paperwork hadn't been filled out. Then, to top it all off, we can't get our money refunded until the manager comes back to the office on 09.08. All of this, on top of lost rent checks, holes in the floor, rats in the cupboards, storing OPEN gas tanks in the basement and flooding the apartments with fumes, homeless people sleeping in the laundry rooms, sub-standard wiring that would shut your power off if you open the fridge while the oven was on, A/C that didn't work at the start of each summer, a furnace that stunk of fumes each time it turned on, and a screened in porch with rotten floor boards point to a place that you shouldn't rent from and should probably be condemned.
One word to describe this place? Incompetence Southport Crossing and Tuscan Pointe Apartments: Same place, Same Management, Different name Renter Beware the space is not worth it. Seek Elsewhere. If I could give it 0/5 stars I would. But sadly I cannot. I came back from vacation only to find a bit of mold in the basement. Since this is now appearing in front of the wall I can only imagine what is growing behind the walls. If you ever need to speak to the management you must go to the office. I have called many times and not once have I received a call back from them. Any time you do call the so called answering service will pick up, and it seems the message that you leave with them falls on deaf ears.
This is a good place to live. The location is very close to great dining and entertainment, including a major mall. The grounds and residences .are clean and well kept. Rents are reasonable and the staff is friendly and competent. Practically worry free living.
This apartment complex just underwent some major updating and is really nice now! We just moved into a two bedroom townhouse that was completely renovated and we love it! Would recommend it, it's a great place to live.
My apartment is in a nice little complex. The staff is kind and helpful. The environment and landscape is kept up and nice. The inside of the townhouse is well done newly renovated and its feels homey. This is a nice place to live.
