Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Ms. Lakiesha and our leasing team. We’re delighted to hear that you found them to be professional and welcoming during your visit. At Southview, we strive to provide excellent service and transparency to make the leasing process as smooth and comfortable as possible. We’re thrilled to hear that you feel at home, even before moving in.
I’ve lived here for about 3 years now and I can truly say my stay has been pretty normal! I live on the street side so its more quiet than the parking lot lol! Maintenance can be late sometimes but that’s the office fault! They’ll put your request in after 3 times of calling. The bedroom space is big and so are the closets, I just wish the living room and kitchen was bigger! I live in a one bedroom and have seen wayyy bigger kitchens and living areas than here but it’ll do. A few bugs once in a while! No roaches mostly big spiders for some reason & I can honestly say I haven’t seen any mice so that’s a relief! They do well with keeping the community clean & neat! Overall I enjoyed my stay but it’s time for an upgrade!
This property is ran down and old. The hallways and laundry rooms always smell like pee. The elevator barley works. They turned down the hot water pressure to next to Nothing. They let my neighbors play music from 11pm to 6am and did nothing but provided an excuse of there's nothing we can do. The security flirts with residence all day instead actually doing there job. Car break ins and nasty attitudes at the rental office. Don't do

My building is roach infested I wish I could stay here but i think that’s the only downside to living here
I’m a resident here at this current moment. I pay extra to live in a secure building but the building is never secure it’s always sticks in the door. The apartments are a nice size but the kitchen is old an out of date. The appliance are old an when I say old my refrigerator is yellow. They should do a major renovation.the playgrounds are old an dirty an need a power wash. I’ve seen 1 mouse in the two years that I lived here. Maintenance is always on time. The cleaning crew cleans the apartment building daily but it still smells. The residents leave their trash in the hallway. It’s about 20 apartments on each floor in the highrise an they only have 1 washer 1 dryer per floor. It’s far from the best but it’s not the worse. If you can find something better do so.its not worth the money.
So let me start by saying i didn't have the best credit history. So needless to say SM understands people get in trouble and deserves 2nd chances. Well Between Tyree, Jessica ( Leasing consultant ) and Victor showed me why i should have gone with them to begin with. Let me tell you from the time i called to first time to when i moved in they explained everything they checked in they were attentive professional but still made me feel comfortable. All i can say is SM please hire more people like them, They went above and beyond to make sure i would be happy with my new home and also to get qualified for my new home. I know every apartment has their ups and down but i always say a worker is happy to work because of a good supervisor so am happy because of the Leasing team i had experienced at South view. Please If you guys don't believe me give them a call.
I have been living at Southview for a little over a year. The apartments are nice, Security is a JOKE and the building managers can be very disrespectful when it comes to how they approach rental issues especially paying your rent a few days late. I think that the building managers need to start building a better report with their tenants, you never know what a person may bee going through. The maintenance crew can be very very very dis-functional, but overall the neighborhood is an okay place to live. No matter how clean and orderly you may be, you will still need to call regarding the roach issues.
I lived here briefly and I did love my apartment also they gave me a second chance when no one else did due to less then perfect credit. The only thing I'm upset about is they put a eviction on my credit which is far from the truth. So when you decide to move please keep all paperwork saying that you departed in good standing. Thank GOD I kept my paperwork stating that I was a valued tenant and they hated to see me leave. Overall all Southview is a great place to stay. Good luck
I will say living at Southview apartments for over three years has been worth while staying here. I will continue living here much longer. They improved on the procedures of the way rent is paid which is very convenient for handicap people as well as others who are not scared to use the internet. In addition, I see most people who live here are people who goes to work so that rent can be payed and their belongings stay from off the streets. Also, they improved on activities for children and adults by making the actives more friendly and engaging to that group of people who are participating in that activity. One particular activity stands out in my mind is the Swim Aerobics that happened in the summer of 2016. Indeed - the truth is that any and all person's who can walk enjoyed that activity because the instructor of that class made the activity pure fun! The community center is becoming more community center friendly. They are improving the different component parts of the community center which are the workout area, gaming area, business area, and the children programs. I did know that you can enjoy a good workout and then do work on your computer or the center's computer! In fact, they have improved the children program and continues to find ways to better it. Living at Southview has made me want to stay in this area and look forward to those amenities that was not expected.
they treat there tenants the worst. leasing office staff treat you kind but its all a trick. once you sign the lease they no longer care for you or your needs. my car was broken into the first month I was here. my bike was stolen from the balcony which is located right in front of the leasing office. of course no one saw anything. THEN my car gets towed from the parking lot. I'm a resident here and they tow peoples car when ever they feel like it with no warning. At one point they lost my rent check I personally handed my envelope that had my check to a office staff and THEY LOST IT!!! I had to go through the embarrassment of having notices on my door and police delivering summons. it took them FOREVER TO CLEAR this mess up!!! I STRONGLY suggest you stay clear of these apartments or there other chain locations!!!
I've lived in Southview for almost a year now and I love it. This is my second apartment and it feels like home which is more than I can say for my first. The staff is very friendly and helpful, maintenance comes when you call. May not always be instantly but they're very persistent with getting the job done. It's conveniently located near shopping and the metro not to mention bus stops and shuttle buses throughout the complex. It's a pretty quiet neighborhood and the other residents are often friendly or keep to themselves. I'm not looking to move anytime soon.
Staying here the past few months it's been good. But some times it takes a while to get the go done.
This is the perfect Apartment complex , it's very beautiful, very convenient to the metro, to some fabulous shops, its near United Medical Hospital, South view has big Balconies, a nice kitchen, and the rooms are everything nice and big, they have security on the property so u can feel safe at all times, The maintenance staff comes as soon as you call, there are laundry rooms in majority of all the buildings, It's very quite, it has two pools one u can rent for parties and functions a couple of play grounds two basketball courts, come out and join the southern management family.
My stay here was very nice. A clean apt. with 24 hr maintenance & always parking available.
These apartments are a good price for the size. I stay in a two level 2 bedroom and the only complaint I have is that the kitchen ceiling leaks. Once maintenance was contacted the issue was resolved within two visits. I've seen reviews that talk about mice but I have seen any at all.
Been living here for almost a year. No complaints whatsoever. All my neighbors are friendly, and maintenance keeps the grounds very clean.
I have been a resident at Southview for 3 years. So far I have no major complaint. The grounds are alway kept, the building is clean daily and the laundry room is always clean. I have a one bedroom; and its large. BUT they tell you can transfer to other properties or larger apartment which is not exactly true. If they honor their policy they would be the ideal property
I love where I live! Such a peaceful & quiet place to be. The apartments are spacious, well maintained, and metro accessible. The management company does alot for the community/residents and are always willing to work with you in hardship times. If you're looking for a place with reasonable rent prices this is the place to be!!!
This apt complex is okay. The apt are small and they have no closet space. The parking is horrible and they are not assigned so if you want a space ....stay home... If i must say the leasing agents are nice and helpful. There is no dishwasher and also it is only a double sink.I wanted to be honest because this is true about what you see is not what you get.
I heard a lot of bad things about South view before I moved in and I am glad I didn't listen to any of it. I love my apartment where my apartment it is very quiet and my kids love the area. Any time I called the main office for anything they where so nice and so quick to help with any concern I might had. All I can say is it was a great move and I see me living there for a long time.
Southview is a good place to live. Great location close to Washington D.C. and great shopping. Metro accessible and a free shuttle to southern ave subway station. 24 hour maintinence and friendly staff.
This apartment is overall enjoyable. The pros: the different style apartments, the beautiful wood floors, walkin closet/bathroom suite with a sink outside of the bathroom, 2nd chance program for those without the best credit, bus that comes through the neighborhood, 5 min drive to Southern Ave station and it had a large balcony. The cons: horrible cell service, people leaving the controlled access doors open, maintenance isn't very knowledgeable (it took 3 weeks to repair an air conditioning filter which hadn't been changed in a long time, it leaked for 3 weeks in my walk in closet and damaged clothes and the walls and leaked downstairs), the washer on our floor needs to be replaced, and the walls are way too thin. I could hear my upstairs neighbors in their most intimate moments and the walking on hardwoods above you is enough to drive you insane lol However over all this place is doable. I have a best friend who lives here and a cousin who lived here. Definitely worth checking out!
In the great location of Oxon Hill not too far from our National Harbor, resides the greatest community of Sylvan Heights Estates. With its great feel and clean/tidy appearance, it's sure to be a home you'll be willing to spend the rest of your life in. Each home is spacious and supremely architected. Experience the joy of living in Sylvan for yourself.
