Property Ratings at The Sovereign
As a current resident I am absolutely not pleased with this apartment complex. I’ve only been here less than a month and I am having issues. First moved in and they still had old toilet seats from the previous resident. I have no stopper for the bath tub and have asked multiple times. There a many reasons to look for other places. Also make sure that you have a pool pass or the leasing office won’t even let you in with ID which is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of.
This is a great apartment and looks very nice. I loved the layout and despite the small size, it was the cheapest nice one I could find in the area. When I got my keys, I went and looked the whole apartment over and on a bedroom wall I found gatherings of black dots and I immediately thought bed bugs. I held off to move anything in until I could have an answer. I had 2 bed bug inspectors come out. The service the apartment uses which told me it wasn't anything to worry about and another bed bug specialty service and they said that's what it looked like was old excrement. I did not feel comfortable or right about moving in here and yes it was my fault for signing the lease but also I asked multiple times including before I signed and got my keys to clean the unit. It never got professionally cleaned, instead it just got spot cleaned many times after asking to clean it. I never felt welcomed there by one of the girls who worked there. I was able to get out of the lease by paying to break the lease but they refused to give me any of my money back. This was a break of the lease on their part due to not being move in ready and not taking action on the issue. I did not feel comfortable living here and they just shrugged it off and basically said deal with it. I'm so glad I was able to get out of there. This experience pushed me so far from apartment living.
Managers are horrible. Management treats tenants like they are a burden. Service is unreasonably slow. No urgency when a/c broke with 100+ degree weather. Took almost a week to fix. No electricity to outlets wasnt addressed for 3 months. Dryer broke and no response for weeks. At move in, wasnt provided adequate amount of house keys. Management never gave us the gate code or remotes and could not drive in until another tenant let us in. Management told us they didnt know anything and couldnt help us with the parcel lockers on property. Emergency water flooding damages from another unit into 3 floors of apartments today on Christmas Eve and Managers were off. Management was off from Dec 23rd. Why? With this level of urgency and the severity of the emergency, no Manager addressed the tenants who were affected by the urgent situation. Only got a text that the water was bring shut off and will let us know when it gets turned back on. Only sunshine in this whole situation is the maintenance guy Tyler who was left to handle this whole mess by himself. He came by to explain and update us on the situation. Did I mention that Managers are horrible? [Emphasis]
I have been a resident six years, this is the fourth property management company and the most inefficient, by far. The phone is never answered, they are severely understaffed. Half of the time you enter the office for help, no leasing consultant is present. They have been reminded a couple months ago about their staffing issues with no improvement or positive changes to speak of. They will vociferously argue their position, and in vain attempt to argumentatively defend their inability to meet requirements of maintaining an apartment complex. Sometimes, the pool is not open in the middle of summer, with excuses galore; it is the emergency phone not working or the water isn't clean enough. The leasing office management is rude, argumentative and unprofessional. The maintenance technicians take forever to answer urgent requests like the air conditioner not working in peak summer and behave extremely unprofessionally in the leasing office, are arrogant and seem like they haven't been trained in customer service nor care about resident satisfaction. If you are opted out of the Luxer One package system, your package will not be handed over to you when requested. They are quick to send back packages, despite being unavailable to address walk-ins because of the staffing issues. At times, the leasing office door is closed with no sign for residents. When it comes time to renew your lease, they will act unusually friendly and days later, it is back to square one. I would not recommend this property to any future resident; these are existential and systemic issues which may never be resolved.
This place is ridiuclous. I relocated to Houston for work. As part of that process I had to pay to get out of my lease. That was a little over 2 grand. On top of this, today I get notice they are trying to charge me 1300 dollars for repairs on my apartment. I signed to have my apartment cleaned for 125.00 after move out. This was never done. I did this beacuse I had to basically leave right when the movers left. I am not suggesting I left my apartment in perfect condition. I did, however, live there for 3.5 years. I don't think any apartment that's been lived in for 3.5 years is going to be perfect. First, they charged me 600 dollars to replace apartment grade carpet with over half of its life span used. My unit was 660 sq ft and had laminate in the kitchen and bathroom. They charged for each individual nail hole. The itemized breakdown was absolutely absured. The itemized each individual nail hole. lol. This is wear and tear. I didn't mind living here. But I would not suggest this apartment complex to anyone. WestShore clearly is in this only for money. Dealing with the leasing office was hell when I was trying to get documentation for my move. They couldn't even keep track of my move out date. It was nuts.
People have been very accommodating when I’ve had an issue or question even with so much going on with ownership change.

-regular car theft-found this out when my car was broken into and talked to some neighbors. Not when I reported the incident to management. -referred to on site cop when reported who aggressively explained how it was my fault. Don't worry-I remained professional and calmed him down. -A/C was out for a full month while my wife was 8 months pregnant. We had to relocate multiple times. Finally fixed (temporarily) -during this time, management called and acted like WE were causing issues for complaining about our a/c not working. This was old management. -new management did not even respond to my email when I was pleading for assistance with a wife recovering from giving birth and a new baby with an apartment at 77 degrees. DID NOT EVEN WRITE ME BACK. -only internet provider is Frontier. They force you into a bundle so our cheapest option for internet was 108 a month. -rent goes up about a hundred dollars each year -pool was closed for 70 percent of the summer for not being up to city code. -just drive around the grounds before you sign. Lights are out, poop bags for pets are not kept filled so there's often dog poop, hallways are very dirty. -valet trash (that you pay for) often just does not show up. But if you have more than 2 bags at a time you have to take the trash yourself. -if you have a family, you might care there's no speed bumps so people drive pretty fast through the lot. -their emergency line has been down the last 3 times I needed it when my A/c wasn't working -someone was shot in the parking lot over a vape pen being sold -the dishwashers are basically for show -they took away parking passes. Might sound like a positive, but they have a ton of people living here that are subleasing so there are never any spots near your place. -I'd say the environment, if you dont mind negligent management, is nice if you're in college or just work a part time gig. If you have kids to put to sleep or wake up at 5 am, it's probably not for you. -the gates at the front are broken 90 percent of the time I feel like you really see a company for who they are in crisis moments. For me that was when they blamed me for my car being broken into and the lack of concern for my A/C not working with an 8 months pregnant wife.

Mike, I'm terribly sorry for any discomfort caused by your AC and it deeply concerns me to hear of this. I understand your frustrations, but my team did work diligently to address the issue. As for your car, unfortunately, this kind of trouble can occur at any community. It was not the intention of our onsite patrol to point blame, they only meant to go over what you can do to prevent the situation from happening again and we do try to communicate any concerns brought to us. Please know the well-being of you and your family is important to us, so if there are any pending concerns we can address prior to you moving out, please do not hesitate to give us a call so we can chat. We wish you all the best on your future endeavors. Thank you. - Misty Dison, Property Manager

For the price that we paid for our “luxury” apartment, you’d expect the amenities advertised to be functional. Want to go swimming? Sorry, it’s been closed for months IN THE SUMMER. And when the pool was open it was so dirty. Grilling for the fam? Forget it grills work half the time. Need to print something out? Nope, printer is broken. Need keyfobs to get into parking? Sorry, they “ran out” -- it doesn’t matter though because the gate is constantly open anyway. So much for a “private community”. Want to pay your rent online? Whoops, they’ve been switching management and their website is unable to let you give them your money. By the way they are constantly blaming any and all issues on new management. If you value communication, personability, and getting what you paid for, the Sovereign is not the place for you. There are some apartments right across the parking lot, go look there instead.
They had immediate move in conditions when I moved in on 6/12 which was awesome. Now I am learning why when all other complexes in the area had wait times. There was a big "Pool closed for Maintenance" sign on the pools the day I took a tour. Because the pool is so nice looking here it was the biggest draw for me. I spent a majority of the tour asking about the pool and was told several times that is almost never closed. today is 8/23 and it still has not been open since I have lived here. If the pool is your thing. STAY AWAY from this place!!!!!!!! I very very much regret signing a 12 month lease here
This community appears to be upscale but it is NOT. The breezeways are filthy. Questionable people are allowed to move into the community and some of them are DISGUSTING, doing things that I cannot even print here. Illegal behavior goes on and the management does NOTHING. The wind blows off the shutters on the buildings and they lay on the ground forever and then are not even replaced. The grounds like the grass looks horrible EXCEPT for the grass they maintain in the front of the leasing office. My car was broken into. Teenagers were shot on the property. Residents SPEED in the 10 mph driveways almost causing accidents. I would not recommend this place at all. Don't bother.
I am a current resident here, I moved into this community Nov. 2018 and since moving in, it has been a bumpy and horrid ride. My first day in my apartment was horrible, the floors and countertops were sticky, the fridge and sink were uncleaned and multiple lights were non working, paint was not fully done, walls were chipped and holes were lazily filled back in. Grounds are messy, breezeways are stained with trash residue and cigarette buds. These 4-5 star reviews are solicited. They promote in their office this "write a review and you get money taken off your rent" so obviously people take advantage of that. It constantly smells of weed everywhere in the community. You're right next to another apartment complex that is infamously known for narcotic busts. On top of that, emails to the office staff are never responded to, they pass blame off on one another when an issue comes up. I came home today to 7 Ft. Worth police cars and a crime scene van in front of my apartment building?! Not renewing and definitely telling everyone I know to steer clear. You'll probably end up getting your apartment or car broken into here.
My daughter had recently lost her job and decided with a month and 23 days left on her lease to go ahead and move out in order to allow the complex to rent the apartment. When she told them she was going to be out by the 15th of the month they told her that it typically only takes about 2 weeks to get it rented so her portion for the rest of the month would be minimal. So upon leaving she call them the following morning on October 16th to tell them she was out and ask if there was anything else she needed to do. She was informed no we have it down and will get on it! She contacted them on Thursday, October 26th to see how it was going and then was informed that she had to sign some paper in order for them to go into the apartment. Why was this not conveyed before? Now she is going to be forced to pay another months rent that she can't afford but due to their negligence, it is going to cost here and they are not willing to work with her to help in any way. She is just screwed due to their lack of competence. I will be contacting their corporate office today as my company works with them on a regular basis.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We understand that a miscommunication has occurred between our staff and your daughter, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. We want all of our residents to leave with a positive impression of our community, so we would be more than happy to speak with the leaseholder about this issue. We have been trying to get in contact with her with no response, so please have her give us a call at her earliest convenience. Thank you. - The Sovereign Management
Me and my wife have been living here 4 months and I'd have to say it's the cleanest , well kept, and friendliest complex we've ever lived at . Office staff is amazing as well as matintenace , always attentive . I would highly recommend to live here .
We have lived her for almost a year and renewed early for 15 months. Best neighbors! Ladies in the office are amazing!
Living at The Sovereign for the past 18 Months has been a wonderful experience! The apartments are beautiful. The office staff is friendly and courteous. The maintenance team is quick to respond. Our neighbors are very nice folks. The Sovereign is in a great location with lots of restaurants, shopping and community events in Keller, North Fort Worth and Alliance just minutes away.
I have never felt so at home in any other apartments I've moved in and this is the 3rd place in three years. I just never found an apartment that made me feel "at home". I love coming home to the Sovereign everyday. This is definitely the place I will auto populate. The complex is kept very clean and contemporary. Perfect area with plenty things to do and eat! I only rate a 4 because there's always room for improvement ;)
I am very satisfied I made the move to the sovereign. Christina, shea, and trish welcomed me and my family since before we even signed a lease. we have had a couple minor maintenance issues (nothing serious) that were resolved immediately.
Loving everything about my new home so far, love the resident events and the friendly staff. I live in the B2 floorplan and love it!
I absolutely love living here. I'm so happy to have met Shea because she is one of the main reasons we decided to move here. She was great and very helpful and had no problem answering any questions we had. Some people complain about noise or the gate but honestly, it's all part of apartment living. You're never gonna truly get the peace and quiet you would come to expect when you own a home. As for the gate, it's machinery so of course it will break down from time to time and even that is becoming less of a problem. As for them not caring for their tenants, I'm not sure we live in the same place cause everyone has been extremely nice and any complaint I've had has been taken care of. Like I said, as far as apartment complexes go, I absolutely love living here.
I have really enjoyed living in The Sovereign over the last year. It's located in a convenient location, geographically, for my family's needs. There is a bit of an issue with congestion at the main entrance/exit; especially during high traffic times...but there is a separate exit gate to use when leaving the property! Shea has taken great care of us since day one! Everyone on staff had been extremely supportive though!
I think that the Sovereign Apartments are wonderful. We moved into our brand new unit in August 2015 & have loved every minute of being here. The apartments are beautiful, the location is convenient, the pool area is top notch, & the grounds are always clean. The office staff is wonderful. Thank you Sovereign!
Coming from a 3bed 2bath home down sizing was not easy nor finding something that would feel like home. I wanted a clean complex, something that would feel like home and close to work. The staff is great and always willing to help. I plan to renew my lease.
The place may look nice from the outside and the staff may seem nice initially but proceed with caution. The walls are so thin that you hear the railing rattle every time someone goes up and down the stairs and you not only hear the toilet flush in the apartment above you but you hear the person going to the bathroom. (Yes, that is nasty! And do you consider putting a zip tie on the railing fixing the problem? Not when you can hear the railing rattle two rooms over.) Requests/complaints are sometimes addressed after multiple requests and other times not at all and contacting the management company is useless. Parking is inadequate and the workout room is not cleaned on a regular basis The team claims to walk the property daily yet litter remains in the same place for over a week and a half and light bulbs in hallways are out for weeks until you call this to their attention. Not sure what they are looking at when they make their walks around the properties if these items are not being addressed. Not worth the price or the hassle. So glad to be moving out of this place. Proceed with caution!
The Sovereign is a beautiful apartment complex but definitely over priced, the upgraded design and interior are great but don't let the look itself persuade you. The stairways are poorly built, shaky and loud, you can hear upstairs neighbors toilet flush and shower run, not to mention the washer and dryer are extremely loud. Valet trash has just started which is wonderful, but residents do not comply with the rules and put their overflowing open garbage out at all times of the day, management has sent notes but have not enforced any change. The gates are constantly broken and the entry way for apartments is horribly designed, accidents come close everyday. The office staff is usually polite but not always professional. The amenities are always kept clean but the pool is definitely too small for this complex. Beautiful apartment but wouldn't recommend anything but a short lease.
Me, and my boyfriend have lived at the Sovereign for about a year now and we signed a 15 month lease. It appears that if you want problems to be fixed then leaving a bad review is the way to get someone's attention. My initial thought was to comment on my boyfriend's previous review on FB but it appears that The Sovereign has deleted his 1 star review in order to maintain their 4 star rating. I have been in contact with the office staff about several of my concerns throughout our stay at the Sovereign. After several (about 5) emails that had not been responded to, and apathetic attitudes, I feel that my concerns have fallen on deaf ears. But we saw a leap into action with my boyfriends review about the trash compactor issues, and within days we have been provided Valet Trash (a service they told us about when we sign the lease in Aug 2015). I am only trying to get into contact with the management company to resolve our issues we've made clear to the Assistant PM and Property Manager. I would be happy to voice my concerns to the management company non publicly, but if left unresolved I will continue to post honest reviews to let my voice be heard. Kaylyn & Alex
Poorly constructed you can hear everything above me and around me . People us stairs stomp around all day and when we complain they told us sorry you can hear everything because of then poor construction job . But when I watch a movie at a regular amount of time I get a noise complaint and threat to get a lease violation. Basicly telling us we have to be quite but they can stomp around all day and night . Send a unmarked cop uninformed to flash his badge and give you lip and beat your door down in the morning do not lease here . If you do live on the top 3rd floor. And they have one trash compactor for the whole grounds and it overflows every weekend. The fooled us with a nice grounds and lovely interior but with the lack of professional response. Gate constantly broken open and our patio furniture even has gotten stolen . Don't let them fool you like they did us go somewhere and actually get your money's worth .
These apartments are very nice on the outside. They are brand new and the look great. I will admit on the inside they did a great job as well, but they are poorly built. Yes, I know I live in an apartment, but I should not be able to hear my neighbor's toilet flush. I should not be able to hear my neighbor's water running when they are taking a shower. These apartments also come with a washer and dryer - do not run them and you are trying to get some sleep. Again very nice apartments but the foundation is horrible. The ladies in the office - the leasing specialist are very sweet. Can not say much for management.
Why wouldn't you be excited to call The Sovereign Apts your home? I know that i am!! When i was looking for an apartment that would meet my needs and some of my wants, i knew after seeing these, and meeting the ladies in the office, that i had found the place to call home. Dynamic Floor plans, Great Amenities, State of the Art pool, awesome neighbors.. what more could a person ask for?? I have lived here for almost 4 months now, and it by far has been the best 4 months in a apartment community that i have ever experienced. The location of these Apts are in the middle of everything.. Grocery Stores, Restaurants, and family Entertainment. I look forward to living here for many years 2 come. Once again, this apartment community from the ladies in the office to the Maintenance staff is by far 5 STAR!! I would highly recommend living here, you will love it, just like i do.
The apartments are very nice but the staff needs a training course on customer service. The staff treats residents like children and at these prices it is insulting. They nickle & dime you over every little tiny thing they can think of. They micro-manage you 10 times worse then your own boss. Save your money and keep looking.
This new Apartment Complex has great location. Just a few minutes from Downtown Fort Worth. It is in the heart of a beautiful and safe community. Exceptional school district. The apartment has beautiful finished dark espresso kitchen cabinets and a very modern color combinations on all the walls. The pool is as beautiful and big as if we are in a luxury resort. I am very happy living in this excellent community!
Beautiful, new community and North Fort Worth. Amazing amenities, spacious apartment and an awesome office and maintenance staff. Love living here.
Nice apartments good location but there's a gate thats always open for a gated community. Also theres only one cable provider to choose from
I just moved there a little over a month ago and I've got to say they are the best apartments I've lived in! When I first went to go see them they were still being built but when they gave me the tour of the apartment I knew that was it. I didn't have to keep looking! I had to wait a few months so they could finish building them but it was worth the wait! I'm so happy, the amenities are fantastic, they are so clean and all the finishes on the apartment are gorge! And not to mention the staff is always very welcoming and are very efficient in everything they do! I finally found a place that suits me in every aspect!

My wife and I wanted to find an apartment between my work in Fort Worth and her school in Denton. Keller was smack-dab in between and the area seemed loaded with apartment options... at least until we started searching. We were looking for a complex developed in the last 5 years with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, an open living space and new appliances - bonus if we could be on the first floor and have hardwood floors. Finding a 1st floor apartment 3 months out from our moving date quickly seemed like a fools errand. After 15 other complexes, we stumbled across the Sovereign. The ladies in the main office were hands down the kindest, most professional and personable group we interacted with. They asked us what we were looking for and when we said through doubtful expressions that we would love to be on the first floor, Christina said, "Yeah! No problem. Let's go look at some floor plans." Not only were we super impressed with the amenities - the pool, drive through mail center, and clean, open workout room - but the floor plans met every. single. one. of our wants. We have now been there for 2 months and the few minor maintenance issues we've submitted have each been completed within 24 hours. The ladies at the front remember our names and apartment number even though we've only been back to talk with them two or three times and we always leave reassured that this is the best complex in Keller. The one drawback we thought we would have issue with was the location as it's a good 5-10 minutes east of I-35 but we've discovered back roads and alternate routes to surrounding cities that actually work better than taking the construction-riddled interstate. We have loved exploring the area and have found plenty of shops, restaurants and events to enjoy. Modern, friendly, and in a great, safe location, my wife and I can't recommend the Sovereign enough.
