The West End neighborhood has breathtaking views from almost every area – but the views at Point Defiance Park are especially top-notch. There are two full-service shopping districts in the community, but it’s mostly a residential suburb.
When they’re not at their West End apartments, locals are relaxing by the water at Owen Beach or watching the zoo animals roam. The Fort Nisqually Living History Museum is located in the park, and a great representation of the first Puget Sound settlement in the 1800s.
The natural scenery is quite unmatched – and you’re just minutes from class at Tacoma Community College.

Property Ratings at Spanish Hills
I've lived here for 8 years and still love my apartment just as much as when I moved in. Management is great, maintenance is fast and respectful, cabana is warm and inviting, working class residents, variety of lease options, covered parking available
Spanish Hills has excellent staff that is friendly and kind. The apartments are walking distance to several schools and right across the street from the community college. The location is excellent for people that need to walk everywhere.

Hello, Thanks for you kind review. We appreciate you taking the time to spread the word about our apartments. Spanish Hills Management
What drew me to Spanish hills was the location. Right near the freeway, near grocery stores, restaurants, bars, etc. although still tucked away far enough in a quiet neighborhood. The complex stays clean. You never have to worry about overflow of the garbage. Parking was a plus. You didn’t have to worry about finding parking spots or parking spots for your guest, there was always more than enough spaces. The staff, especially Netta was great. They are very attentive and quickly responded to all my needs or concerns, by far the best for as long as I’ve been renting. I would definitely recommend renting. Especially if you’re looking for an affordable but great quality place to live.
Spanish hills is a great place to live. It’s quite and well maintained and if I have an issue it is corrected right away. Spacious and affordable apartment. The staff is friendly and always available.
Spanish Hills office staff members are very friendly and professional, whenever I request an issue, they get it done in a timely manner. Maintenance staff responds quickly to requests. The two bedroom I live has lots of storage space, plus a private deck. The lawns are well kept. There are so many great amenities here, heated indoor pool, fitness room, dry sauna and game room. So far, my experience living here at Spanish Hills has been the best.
I have lived here at Spanish hills for several years now. We have a 2 bedroom apartment which is quite large. Neighbors are quiet and the rent is low compared to other rental establishments. If there is problem with anything in the apartment, management makes sure these problems are taken care of promptly.
Do you like hearing loud rap music with heavy bass coming through the walls? Then Spanish Hills is perfect for you! Otherwise, stay away. Everything else about this apartment complex meets the bare minimum, which would be fine if that was reflected in the rent, but it is not.
I have been a resident here for close to a year, I have gotten to know most of my neighbors. Everyone is pretty nice I have no complaints. Maintenance is very fast and works hard to take care of residents. The property manager is amazing, she even calls to make sure maintenance request are happily taken care of. All the office staff are helpful and made moving in fun. The property is safe, my fiancé and I take walks at night and it’s very peaceful during the summer it is so pretty with all the flowers and kids playing outside peacefully. I love it here and will continue to renew my lease till we purchase a house
Mold, ants, flies, soft ceiling, and two rude dishonest office personel. Made my gf sick. Please ensure your safety and abiod this place and ALWAYS CHECK THE APARTMENT BEFORE PAYING OR SIGNING not matter how much they insist "its being worked on"

We do our best to ensure that when residents move in they have a good experience. Sorry to hear that yours wasn't a good one. Community Manager Vina Koke
Spanish hills is a great first time starter apartment. Located across from Tacoma community college, you'll see many of your neighbors are eager college students who really keep to themselves. It's located in one of the better areas of Tacoma, in the Middle of university place and sixth ave and a short walk down the hill to Titlow beach where you're sure to find a gorgeous view of the Narrows, and the sounds of a running train. Spanish hills offers one and two bedroom homes under 800 bucks a month. Seeing as every other apartment complex had gone up on rent, with the big balconies and large rooms, moving in was a no brainer! There is key activated on site laundry, which I've never had a problem getting a machine right away, and did I mention they have an indoor pool?! Yea, pretty sweet. It's heated, And Olympic size. Located below the Cabana, next to the billards hall and the excersizr room. Now the exercise equipment could definitely be updated, but the fact that they do have some machine available is nice. And if it's not your style, YMCA is a block away, as is LA fitness. The area is fantastic really, many grocery stores dive bars, put put golf. Fast food, marijuana despensaries and the hospital is close enough too. I've been here for about a year now, looking for other apartments now, but I can't find a better deal or location. Spanish hills really is one of the best in Tacoma. Don't knock it till you try it.
