Directly across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., Arlington is less a suburb than an extension of the nation’s capital. It’s the home of the Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, with a number of waterfront parks offering beautiful views across the river to the National Mall.
The community provides a wide range of living options, from apartments, townhomes, and duplexes to condos and houses. A major reason for Arlington’s popularity is that there is so much to do. Washington may be packed with monuments, museums, and other sightseeing landmarks, but Arlington holds the advantage when it comes to the more day-to-day shopping, dining, entertainment, and nightlife.
You’ll have several options for getting around town or into D.C., whether you choose to drive, take the Metro, or ride your bike — Arlington has earned a silver rating from the League of American Bicyclists.

Not sure where to start, my wife and I moved into a 2 Bdrm in July of 2017...apparently there is a small roach problem. Didn't see any until the vacant apartment next door was moved into. Now I see a couple roaches a week. Garbage compactor stinks up the entire building except for the leasing office and lobby area, which the staff conveniently sprays with air freshener, I'm assuming to keep potential residents from the nauseating smell until they sign their lease. Just got a notice today about another emergency water shut up, for today...the 2nd or 3rd one this year and we are only 8 days into the new year. My car was damaged in the parking lot by paint from their shoddy workmanship and had to basically threaten people to have the situation rectified. The leasing office is open Mon-Fri(but almost always closed at least one of those days and occasionally closes early for whatever reason). The answering service that almost always answers(there's hardly ever anybody in the leasing office) doesn't do a good job of relaying messages so you have to call to check up on work orders that may or may not have been received. Bedrooms are not as spacious as others have claimed but they're no prison cells. Once the lease is up, we will be running from this place. Not the worst residence I've had but nowhere near the best.
Four years ago we were in a jam, our previous landlord decided to sell and our son was starting school. We ended up here and planned on it being temporary while we figured everything out. Four years later and we just signed our lease for another one. Pros: *AMAZING STAFF everyone is super nice and welcoming. Kia was in the office for a while and recently left to go to another property. My two year old LOVE Ms. "E-Ah" and we were sad to see her go. We went down to meet her replacement and Ray already knew who we were because it was part of his training. The fact that they make the effort to please a two year old (and everyone else) is amazing. *Super quiet. Outside of the occasional car alarm I hardly ever hear my neighbors. Especially in the bedrooms. This building is older and is solid brick and concrete so it is hard to hear anyone else. Plus it is tucked in a quiet neighborhood. *Clean We have been here for 4 years and have only had a spider or two and a few flies if we leave the patio door open. No rodents or roaches at all. *Friendly neighbors- Many of my neighbors have been here as long as I have and I know many of them (on my floor and others) A few have even become good friends that I can call on when I need eggs or sugar. *Huge rooms!! In this area square footage is important we are in a two bed room and both rooms are really large. The master closet could be another room it is so big! *Parking is never an issue, there is always a spot *We have a pool! Cons *While the staff and neighbors are 100% kid friendly the grounds are not. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have have some sort of playground or kid running area. The only open space is in the pool area and that is only open during the summer. * The pool also does not have a kid pool or really any area for kids to play. It has no stairs and only ladders, 3 feet is the shallowest it gets which for anyone under 5 is too deep. * guest parking is not a thing so when I have people visiting they have to park on the street which depending on the time of day can be tricky. *Small elevators? Okay I am really reaching here to come up with more cons. The elevators are on the smaller side so it is hard to get larger pieces of furniture in it and you have to use the stairs.
Better to keep away from this place. I cant wait to get out o here. Getting overcrowded, noisy, unfriendly management, late response for service. It was a good place last year. Alot has changed.
This apartment complex is just the right size, not to big and not to small. Convenient for all your basic need, friendly staff always there to assist.
The place is new and the women who showed us the place initially no longer works here. Her name was Nicki and she pitched "luxury" bon adventure lifestyle. Me and two roommates signed and were one of the first to move in. Some of the things that Nicki enticed us with (and are listed online) have yet to appear and we've been here for almost 3 months now.. including but not limited to: study rooms with free printing (there is one room with chairs that locks after hours that could be used for studying but no printer yet), outdoor seating and grills, tv in every living room. Decor and furniture have finally come in downstairs. The cleaning and maintenance staff are friendly and work hard. The workmanship and quality of the building is rushed a bit shoddy but what can we expect when they are trying to finish by the beginning of fall semester (there are two colleges closeby). With that being said, there are nice touches throughout the apartment that can make up for the cons depending on your outlook. The place is still coming together but good luck getting a hold of the staff to ask questions.. I've gone down during their "office hours" multiple times to find them unopened. When I asked, they said they're going to have regular office hours soon but are figuring things out still. I'd say about 3/4 the staff are helpful and nice. There is a middle aged larger white woman with blond hair who I believe runs the office and has a mood that fluctuates with her work load. I've had two packages that specifically said "delivered to office" on separate occasions but were missing. They have a closet that holds packages where we can freely come and go. I asked the woman if there would be a way to have a package log in the future as opposed to a closet that anyone has access to. She snapped at me saying she hasn't figured the part out yet and that no one has taken any of my packages. Irrational and unlogical. When I asked her to please not have an attitude over a simple question, she said she was tired of being told how to do her job. While there must be a billion things to do when leasing out bedrooms in an unfinished new apartment complex, there are two correct solutions: 1. Don't let people move in until everything is ready OR 2.Hire someone who can proficiently & PROFESSIONALLY manage a building. I immediately asked her to not take out her work issues with others out on me and she rolled her eyes. I left confused-- why is such an emotional woman running the office?
We’ve been residents of Spectrum since January 2014 and couldn’t be happier with the building and staff. Based upon our experience here: ***GROUNDS: The building and grounds are always kept clean and well maintained, we have no complaints. Parking is always available and guests need to park on the street in the evening and night, where there’s always space. ***SAFETY: We’ve never felt unsafe or observed any questionable incidents. Building doors are always locked and residents need an electronic key for access. There are also several cameras by the main entrance. ***NEIGHBORHOOD: The surrounding area is well-lit and relatively busy because the building is next to several retails shops and restaurants and route 7. One side of the building borders the backyards of single-family homes and the other borders a small car dealership. A handy shuttle is available in the mornings and evenings for transportation to the Ballston metro station. ***MAINTENANCE: We’ve only needed to make regular maintenance requests (no emergencies) and staff has always responded within 1-2 days. There is also regular unit maintenance that we’re informed of well ahead of time. It seems to us that they like to look after the upkeep of their units. ***STAFF: I can’t speak more highly of the entire staff here, to include management and maintenance. They are always cordial and welcoming and make every effort to address any concerns. I don’t know about the experience of others but we have absolutely no reason to complain about staff here. ***NOISE: We’ve observed Spectrum to be a very quiet and diverse community, which is exactly what we were hoping for. Unfortunately, several months ago, new neighbors moved in who, on multiple occasions, partied late into the night with loud music and chatter. We’ve complained to management and while it’s still a work-in-progress, we believe management is working to address the issue. Our experience here prior to these new neighbors proved that their level of noise is definitely NOT normal for this community. ***OVERALL: Based on our own experience here and previous experiences at other communities, we are very satisfied with Spectrum and recommend it to anyone!
