Summit is a small suburban city positioned about 25 miles west of Manhattan along Interstate 78. The close proximity to New York is ideal for commuters, especially with rail service available from Downtown. The local schools perform exceptionally well and the crime rate is among the lowest in the state, making Summit one of the most desirable communities in the region for folks raising families. Rentals range from neighborhood homes to budget-friendly apartments and condos.
The charming Downtown district is loaded with popular locally-owned businesses, from eclectic coffeehouses to international bistros to unique specialty shops, often housed in beautifully preserved historic storefronts. The city offers ample opportunities to spend quality time outdoors, with the massive Watchung Reservation to the south and Canoe Brook Country Club to the north, plus countless parks and nature preserves nearby.

Property Ratings at Spring Gardens Apartments
The owners listened to us and brought back the original manager from when I moved in 10 years ago and this place was a great place to live. It is true, the managers over the past several years were awful, but Robin is back sitting up front with an open door policy and things are already going much better. I actually got a copy of my signed renewal this year! Thanks for hearing us Tower!
New management has no clue what they are doing. They lose our paperwork. They don't answer the phone and they don't attend to tenant complaints or they don't do it in a timely manner. Since April this place has gone way down hill.
I will be moving out of here soon. There is very poor management. I have left several messages for repairs and I don’t get a call back. The new manager walks around the complex vaping and doesn’t attend to any issues or tenant complaints. This is going downhill fast.
This place is getting worse and worse. It’s impossible to find parking. The windows are terrible. Everything they use is cheap and they charge a lot.
The rents are up too high for these old buildings. Every year they increase my rent dramatically and there’s nowhere to find parking. I got a few tickets already for parking on the yellow lines because this parking lot is a mess of cars that don’t belong here and the new manager is clueless.
In the middle of winter waiting a month from management to find out what to do with my windows, temperature inside my unit is 50'F and my 8 months old baby is sick. Spring Gardens/ Tower Management its biggest mistake in my whole life.
7 years in this apartment complex and so far my experience has been amazing. Managment acquired a new member who is very friendly and very knowledgeable of his job. I would definitely recommend anyone who is looking for a new apartment to take a look into this complex which is also pet friendly.
Still currently living here and I can’t tell you how much it’s felt like I’ve lived in the woods. I encountered so many bug problems. First I started with huge 2 inch water bugs. I have lived here so far for almost 3 years & I’ve seen a total of 11 so far. Not fun when you’re already in a teeny one bedroom apartment with a baby. Second bug problem was a random period of flies everywhere. They were always flocking by my window sill so my guess is that there was something dead and rotting behind the walls since I’m the most immaculate person I know. The third kind of bugs were green crickets. I clearly realized there was to be a hole somewhere but because it’s an old old building, there’s open cracks everywhere in the entire apartment. The latest problem is bees. Within the last 4 weeks I’ve killed a total of 12 in my bathroom. I just found 6 dead laying in my bathroom and one near my toddler’s bed which prompted me to write this review. Definitely not signing another lease for another year.
- you will hear every step of your neighbors - building smell is horrible 24/7 - aggressive maintenance staff - poor community maintenance - unprofessional management - they will never return your deposit no matter what
Maintenance is extremely petty and passive aggressive and if they for whatever reason decide to pick on you they'll make up reasons to call the cops on you. Also the electricity sucks and I've had to replace my fridge 4 times due to everything freezing.
I moved here three years ago. I am so please with the area, the people and most of all the staff. They are great, when you need something fix it is done by the end of the day. The staff keeps the place clean and just welcoming. My neighbor are awesome, everyone is so friendly. I couldn't have picked a better place to live and have peace. Love this place. Melissa R
I moved here three years ago. The staff are awesome, if you need something fix it is done by the end of the day. And they do a great job keep the complex clean. The people are very friendly, my neighbors are great we all look out for each other. I couldn't have picked a better place to move to. Love it here.
This apartment complex sits on a beautiful spacious piece of property and has a train station to the city across the street. It also has shops and a food market within walking distance. What is also rare is that pets are accepted.
This complex is not your "normal" brick building one after the other. Each building has its own unique style, some brick, some stone. It is a very park like setting, with a lush grassy patch in the middle with the apartment buildings surrounding it like a U shape pattern. Minutes to downtown Summit, NJ which has great shops and restaurants and within walking distance to the train station and bus stop(s). Excellent location to get on all major highways.
