Property Ratings at Spring Hill
This place is so terrible Im moving first chance I get. I only really moved here for the amenities that I haven’t been able to use since I moved in here. Pool gym ect. My furnace went out and i sat in the cold for a week for them to fix it. My water would not shut off in my bathroom tub almost over flowed. I keep having furnace problems. Then I pay all this rent just to b hounded soon as i just owe 100 on my rent that a actually paid and they want to threaten court over 100 bucks and I cant even get proper heat. Parking is so the worst its never any spots to park near my building this place is just terrible for a the money they want do not move here
The property is well maintained and the maintenance workers are friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. I have lived here for two years and the owners are doing many updates. Viktor
Bugs are really bad during summer time. My wife and family witnessed a drive by shooting and fire bombing. All in all it was terrible, don't bring kids here.
Living here for 5 months now, it’s quiet, pretty cleaned up. It’s just older inside some apartments. But live able. I haven’t seen any bugs so far.
Bugs. So many bugs. Lived here since early 2019 and never seen so many in apartment before. It started with earwigs. My family finding 2-3 a day. Even finding them in the casings of my 5 year olds pillows. We find a strangely high amount of those silverfish bugs as well. Then it moved on to fleas. We have never, and probably will never own a pet (allergy reasons). Perhaps it was the squirrel infestation in the attic! Maintenance. They will fix the same 1960's appliances over and over using gum if they have to. There's also a few things they refuse to fix. For some reason either the apartment or just the fridge is horribly uneven, causing the fridge to lean forward dramatically. Which causes the fridges doors to swing up dangerously fast, and causing them to not close sometimes; opening back up due to the lean. And the ceiling fan leaks water in the bathroom whenever it rains. Called twice on it, still does it. Lawns. Beware of your step if you decide to walk through the grass around these complexes. It's plagued with dog and geese poop. And pine-needles so apparently sharp in can go through a child's flip flop. Management. Get this. This placed tried to tow my car in the middle of a pandemic. The reason? Illegally parked - Expired tabs. Let's set aside the fact they used the world illegal, which has a specific definition unrelated to what their personal companies rules are. They had no clue whether my car was registered or not, they seen the sticker was expired and tagged my car for tow. I asked management what if someone stole my sticker in your parking lot and the car is actually legally registered? They said it wouldn't matter. What? That's insane! How can my car be registered, and fully functional, moved everyday as I use it everyday, and be qualified for tow just because it doesn't have the sticker? I think the biggest red flag though is that it's their personal company position, that during a pandemic, that they would tow your car over something police wont even pull you over for. Let me rephrase that more succinctly. Spring Hill the apartment complex is more aggressively out to find ways to fine/get more money out of you than the police are. And when I asked why, they said because "they can". I told Coleen I would quote her in the review. Stay as far away from this bug infested, falling apart, predatory management, pile of dog/geese crap! You will save yourself a lot of stress, and bug bites.
I've lived here for around 3 months and haven't experienced the same issues with maintenance or the leasing office. The staff can actually be pretty friendly as well. Only 4 stars because I feel the paint wasn't done properly
I came home today to my purses being gone through and items that were inside being strewn around the floor. My bathroom door was closed when I leave it open (because my cat’s food is in there, I NEVER leave it closed) and my bedroom door which I closed was wide open. Both doors to get into the apartment were locked when I left and locked when I returned and maintenance was working in the vacant apartment above this morning when I left. My roommate’s safe hidden in her closet was also tampered with and my cat was locked behind her bedroom door when she was out this morning. We notified the office but were told to “keep track” of our stuff. DO NOT LIVE HERE.
Just 3 days after i signed a year lease a wile animal (squirrel, opossum, or raccoon) crawled into the walls of my apartment from a hole in the outside of the building. I have been calling and complaining that there is a live animal inside my wall that is stuck. The animal has been trying to climb up the inside of the wall, scratch and whine because it is starving to death inside my bedroom wall just 2 feet away from my bed. Management has told me they will not do anything about it and that i have to deal with the noise until the animal dies and then deal with the inevitable smell of its rotting corpse inside of my bedroom wall. I cannot put into words how upset i am, do yourself a favor and live literally anywhere else this place is a dump.
Do not rent here unless you are desperate. The ladies in the office are rude and disrespectful, they don't care about the residents at all and hate their lives. The maintenance staff is nice but they can never fix anything and your heat, air, fridge and oven will die just like mine did. The maintenance staff hates working here though too. I would not recommend living here if you have a choice. Also, your apartment will always smell like smoke even if you don't smoke because all the ventilation is connected.
If you are looking for an apartment to live in that has disruptive neighbors and vandalism in the complex this is the place for you. I was gone from my apartment about 80% of the day for every day of the year that I lived there and still managed to get charged almost $600 in carpeting that I did not destroy. I would spend endless hours and days waiting on emergency maintenance that would never show up. Oh and by the way, they don't turn their heat on till November so you will freeze at least one to three months out of the year. Renters beware, this is not the place to be.
I really enjoy living here; lots of square footage for half what the other local communities are charging. The staff here are friendly, prompt and solve problems, the community is real very clean and quiet. Pet friendly and lots of morning walkers you will see. It does have the up north feel with lots of trees and bushes etc. I would recommend this community to anyone.
Staff never answers phone or helps Bugs everywhere Run down and maintenance can't or won't do anything Concrete all broken in walk way and they won't fix it (rolled ankle 7 times) Cops and fire department always here either arresting someone or taking someone out for medical I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to live here
Well for starters, my apartment was robbed WHILE THE MAINTENANCE WAS WORKING BELOW MY UNIT last year. With maintenance working on the other side of the building and directly below my apartment, the robber managed to jump up on maintenance's work truck to get to my balcony then pry the door open with a screw driver, then proceed make several trips to and from his vehicle with most of my personal effects after ransacking my apartment. All while maintenance was below my apartment and in the building directly adjacent. On top of that it's been a year and they still haven't fixed the sliding door. It does not lock and it is separated from the other piece such that if there's a breeze I can feel it blowing in my apartment. They came to fix it after months of complaining and all they did was but a small clamp on the door track so it couldn't open, I felt so secure... Between this and the outdated A/C unit, my A/C runs around the clock and I have an astronomical electric bill, and this is with the thermostat set to 77 degrees. The fridge is so old that everything in it is damp and the freezer is so full of frost I can hardly put anything in there. The paint, or whatever they used on the bathtub, is chipping away and plugging my drain. Last year the hot water line under my kitchen sink ruptured and the cabinets are so warped that using the silverware drawer covers my pots and pans in sawdust and chunks of cabinet wood. The wallpaper they used instead of paint on the cabinets is all peeling off. The counter top is separated from the wood of the cabinets. I've gone three days without hot water in the last month. Last winter I woke up to a freezing apartment at least half a dozen times because the heater was broken. I've had birds in my walls, one actually found its way into my closet and died there, took forever to get the smell out of my clothes. These are just the problems that come to mind. Trust me, I'm not that picky. I've been in the military for the past four years so I know how to deal with less than ideal living conditions. But seriously, these apartments are not worth it. I wasn't going to make a big deal about it but the fact they are raising my rent again as well as not letting us grill on our balcony anymore is the last straw.
The apartments are roomy and flow well. We moved in Dec, so it was cold outside, everything was fine... Until warm weather came. The large spiders, earwigs, and beetles started coming from everywhere. I have called the office and they sent someone to spray and remove the bugs but, 1) they did not call us before coming out and my husband was notified at the last minute with our 3 kids that he must be out of the home for 4 hours. 2) This spray did not work! in fact I have seen more bugs now than before, I think they are trying to escape the home but the spray set a barrier so they are stuck inside. I have notified the office again and nothing has been done. Second the "central air" has not worked all summer long. Maintenance has been out 10 times to "fix" the issue but it doesn't help. There have been 4 different people out to our home and each of them states that it is something totally different. For example; the first guy said the air conditioner was "frozen" and just needed to thaw before it would kick out cold air. Well we turned it off for a day like he said and it still was not working 85 degrees in our home with the air running for 12 hours. They came out again and this time said it was the motor, he "fixed" it and then said in an hour or so it should be working again. Well it didn't. All summer long my home has been at 85 degrees, they keep coming out and saying it is something different. The coolant, the dirty wires, the air circulation vent... At this point we have given up on trying to get them to fix it and have been paying a little less of the rent, when we go to court for this everything will be explained. They will get their money when our unit is fixed. I honestly hope that our heat doesn't go out, it gets too cold here for them to not fix that. Lastly our bathtubs were peeling paint, or ceramic off when we first moved in, I made them aware and I was concerned because I was not sure if it was dangerous for our kids. It took them 5 MONTHS to get someone to refinish it. When they came out again their was no notice and my husband and kids had to leave last minute for 4 hours again. When he got home they had only done the kids bathroom, our bathroom was and is still peeling paint. I made the office aware and I have heard nothing back. Overall the neighborhood is nice and is well taken care of, but the management is not good. We moved here for the indoor year round heated pool and spa, well the pool is always ice cold, and the jets never work.
If you like big space and nice walks to the park this is the place. The inside is very spacious and private. It comes with two bathrooms brand new carpet and the balcony is decent size. There are preschools not even a mile away and lots of places you can walk or ride your bike to the stores in the surrounding area. The plus is that it has a inside pool with a hot tub and if you are a pet lover this place is all about pets.Lots of large fields for your dog to be running and playing. Comfort and the feel of being in the woods comes to mind when i think of Spring Hill
