Nestled about nine miles southeast of Downtown Austin, the small community of Bluff Springs provides a convenient alternative to downtown living. Bluff Springs began as a farming community in the 1850s, and that spacious feeling persists to this day, even as more residents discover this tiny gem engulfed in lush greenery.
Located along Onion Creek, Bluff Springs is home to the Onion Creek Metropolitan Park, a 555-acre regional park that offers plenty of scenic hiking trails, as well as the Onion Creek Greenbelt, which also has hiking trails, picnic areas, and a playground. Onion Creek meanders up to the sprawling McKinney Falls State Park, where visitors find waterfalls, hiking trails, campgrounds, and fishing areas in addition to the renowned Old Baldy, a cypress tree that’s more than 500 years old.
Southpark Meadows, the largest shopping plaza near Bluff Springs, is located along I-35. This plaza includes an array of national retailers and chain restaurants.

Property Ratings at Hillside on Cannon
This apartment complex has been the worst experience I have ever had as a tenant. It's absolutely the worst choice you can make to live. But of course, if you like to live in dirt you should choose it, if you like to live among mold, you should choose it, if you like to live among cockroaches, you should choose it, if you like to be charged your rent daily but they make fun of you when you make a claim, you should choose them. If you want to rent 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, you must be willing that at any time you cannot use a bedroom and a bathroom. They can even warn your vehicles without breaking any rules, and they will say that the City of Austin did. It may be in the winter season and you will have to be without a water heater or heating, and what is worse they will never give you an answer. In the summer you will not be able to use the amenities for which you pay each month, but 15 days before the end of the summer season will give you the privilege of using the pool. Sounds good, right? If you want to feel like you're throwing your money away every month, you should choose HILLSIDE ON CANNON.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear about your negative experience at Hillside on Cannon. We take all resident feedback seriously, and we regret that your time here has not met the expectations we strive to provide. We acknowledge the concern s you’ve raised, and we want to assure you that we are actively working to address them. Regarding the parking situation, we’re collaborating with the city and our trash provider to find a solution that works for all parties involved. The current location of the dumpsters, across from the additional parking space near the garage, does pose challenges for trash removal. As we discussed in person, we are working on a more permanent solution, and in the meantime, we’ve advised residents who rent garages to avoid parking in front of the crosswalk area on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to ensure that our trash provider has access. We also understand that the timing of the water heater failure on 12/31 was unfortunate. The holiday made it difficult to secure a replacement until today, but we’ve scheduled a professional plumber to install the new unit today (01/02). We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused. Regarding the pool, the previous management allowed it to fall into disrepair, requiring us to obtain city permits and pass inspections before we could open it legally. We understand this delay was frustrating, and we appreciate your patience as we worked to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents. We also take your concerns about vehicle towing, amenities access, and maintenance delays very seriously. We will continue to investigate these issues and ensure that we meet our obligations to our residents. These apartments are in the perfect location its close to supermarket, shopping malls and restaurants, easy entrance to the main Hwy, have after school programs, pool area they always kept maintain also animal friendly they are there when you call them on any Mr.Fix it problems.
Been living here 2 years my lease is up in November. For an affordable apartment it's not too bad wish it had gates. Other than that I have no complains looks like they are trying new things to make it a better place h
The cheapest apartments we have come across in Austin!
Spring Valley is by far the cheapest apartments we have come across in Austin! That being said they are still good quality. Getting approved to live here wasn't easy but they worked with us. Most people would say "sorry your not approved there's nothing we can do" but they kept working with us till we found something that worked! I am proud to say that my little family lives here
