Beneath a canopy of cherry blossoms, woven between national monuments and government buildings, Washington DC is a city full of excitement, surprises, and historic treasures. Washington DC’s breathtaking landmarks aren’t just for tourists. After finding your perfect apartment in the city, you’ll visit them more often than you think! Many are free, and they offer residents a one-of-a-kind backyard, including the Smithsonian, the National Museum of History, the Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the National Zoo, the National Mall, and so much more.
But historic monuments aren’t the only thing that make Washington DC so special. The incredible park-like atmosphere offers a stunning background.

Property Ratings at Spring Valley Apartments
I rented a unit for only two months, but really enjoyed living here. The location is fantastic- just off of busy Massachusetts Avenue. You're close enough for convenience, but 47th Street is very quiet and family-friendly. As a single woman I frequently took walks at night alone through the neighborhood and never felt unsafe. Most of the other tenants are American University students. Despite being college students, I only ever heard noise from my neighbors' once (and even then it was not uncomfortably loud). Like most buildings in DC, the building is a bit old. However, my apartment had brand-new appliances and most features appeared to have been recently updated. Management was extremely helpful throughout my stay, allowing me to move in the middle of the month and have my pet with me. Phone calls for maintenance requests or questions were always answered or quickly returned. The management went above and beyond for me, and I can't thank them enough. I would highly recommend Spring Valley Apartments!
Very nice apartments; great management. The location is perfect of the American University. The property itself is well-maintained, and I have had zero issues; partly because the apartments are renovated and appliances and fixtures are new. 5 minute walk to AU and 5 minute walk in the opposite direction to he Spring Valley coffee shops and restaurants.
Living at Spring Valley apartments, has been a remarkable experience for me. The apartment's style and spaciousness truly make it feel like a home rather than just an apartment. It's a mere 6-minute walk to campus, which is incredibly convenient. As a student, the peaceful environment is a big plus, allowing me to focus without the disturbances typical of more crowded areas. Moreover, the neighborhood's beauty during the fall and winter adds a delightful touch to my overall living experience here. What's even more amazing is the proximity to other students, providing a great sense of community, but with the added benefit of our own apartments instead of the usual dorm living. I highly recommend Spring Valley apartments to anyone looking for a comfortable and serene place to call home while still being close to fellow students.
I had a great experience here. The apartment was very well tidy with a beautiful view. The location is great and it may good choice for those who are visiting American University. The staff was very helpful and I was able to get every assistance I need. To sum up, it was one of my greatest stays abroad!
I am not sure if this is the best place for older people, but definitely best accommodation for AU students. Cheapest, and good quality. My cousin loves it here.
This is an apartment perfect for students or professionals. While around a 25 minute walk from the closest metro (Tenleytown), have no fear because it is just a 2 minute walk away from an extremely convenient bus stop:N3, N4, N6. One way takes you to friendship heights while the other takes you to Dupont, Foggy Bottom, etc. The best part of the location is that it's extremely safe as mostly families live around you. You're also near some quaint little stores and restaurants like LPQ and Wagshall's. The only thing that takes away from the apartment is the fact that the yard is not very well maintained and your closest gym is in friendship.
