Located in the heart of California's thriving Silicon Valley, Downtown Menlo Park has a sophisticated, metropolitan culture that has something for everyone. Downtown Menlo Park is home to multiple tech businesses, but also convenient to major companies like Apple and Google. The neighborhood is also beside Stanford University. Although commuters take advantage of the neighborhood’s rail station that flows to San Francisco and other Bay Area cities, Downtown Menlo Park has more than enough to offer.
The area has great schools and several medical facilities lie just outside the boundaries, so it's a great option for families. Residents can catch some fresh air at green spaces like Burgess Park. Downtown Menlo Park is packed with grocers, coffee shops, and eclectic restaurants serving everything from dim sum to pastrami sandwiches. Events like the annual summer block party and Off the Grid, a food truck market, keep downtown lively as well.

Property Ratings at Springline
You may drive by or take the tour and think this apartment complex looks really nice, but that is the best you will experience. This apartment has extremely poor management and odd priorities. The grounds are beautiful. They’ll give you a fancy welcome box when you arrive. But parts of your apartment will be broken and messy upon moving in. There is a garage robot, but the building door locks and garbage chutes are frequently broken. Oh, and you need at least 7 apps to live here — good luck remembering which one to use when. There’s a signature scent in the lobby, but the ceilings and walls are thin so you hear your neighbors a lot. The place is a party on the weekends or just on a Monday night. They have a golf simulator, but packages just stop getting delivered sometimes and end up in limbo for days. Staff will smile, but then tell you the wrong thing about how something works. You may be tempted like I was by the shiny photos and bubbly tour, but it’s an unpleasant living experience.
Pros - Leasing office does a good job selling the place and answering questions - The location is great for train commuters and close to grocery stores - Nice pool and gym Cons - There is so much technology, and very little of it works. If you don’t enjoy needing 5 apps and 7 websites to live in a building, don’t consider here. I’ve had multiple lock outs because building digital door locks were down. - Staff pretends to be professional but is really incompetent most of the time. The building is new and every question is a “we’ll get back to you." It's unclear who to call when. - Units feel sloppy and unfinished. For example, the floors came dusty, and the bathroom is missing all of its hardware. - Train noise - Screaming children at the pool all evening and on weekends - Lots of noise from unit above you -- very poorly insulated ceilings - Utilities are very expensive compared to other nearby rentals. - Building amenities are oversold. There are very few communal spaces for working, and the wifi is slow. There’s no discount or access to the co-working space next door nor info about shared amenities, such as resident car rentals, that were advertised.
