Property Ratings at Springtree Apartments
Springtree apartments are great, affordable apartments! The staff is incredibly helpful, repairs are typically completed within 24 hours, and the maintenance team does a great job keeping everything in good shape. That said, you are getting what you are paying for, so expect your apartment to have a few quirks due to age and use.

Thanks for sharing your positive experience with us! We feel so lucky to have your support here at Springtree!
Springtree Apartments has excellent customer service and care a lot about their tenants. With every problem we had the staff was easy to work with and took care of it immediately! The apartment itself was okay, but for the price we are paying, and a little decorating, it’s a great place to stay.

Thank you! We feel so fortunate to have your support here at Springtree!
Moved out of state and this is my first apartment in this area. It has been great living at springtree, the ladies in the office are great and very knowledgeable and are willing to help when needed. The community is very quiet. And whenever I put in a maintenance notice it gets taken care of that day!

I've been living here for almost three years now and I still totally love it. My apartment is cozy and well taken care of, the maintenance team is fantastic! They are always here right away to address my issues. And the office staff is great! Whitney is one of the best Property Managers I've ever had to deal with. She's compassionate and fair and always has a smile on her face. The location can't be beat, they just built a huge Goodwill right across the street, and there's plenty of food and entertainment options within walking distance. I would recommend Springtree to anyone and actually have, I have a good friend who moved in last year and I got a bonus just for having my friend move in!
I have lived in Middleton my whole life & wanted to move closer to my mom- worst experience I have ever had renting in Madison. We all know what they say about first impressions, so I'll start with that: I moved in at the end of December with no heat. When I called the office, they laughed me off like I didn't understand how to operate a thermostat. Maintenance took me to the basement and showed me the valve off. You think you would check that before someone moves in.....in December. Units are “newly renovated” but buildings themselves just so old. You can see it was a cheap "cover up what’s falling apart" job. In the summer, temperature in my unit was COMPLETELY out of control. Entire upper level of my building was stifling hot. My unit was 86 degrees so I needed to run my HVAC on full blast all day and night. Ran my electric bill up $100 /month because HVAC was so inefficient. I bought 3 tower fans & used the ceiling fan to get air circulation. HVAC barely kept living room at a comfortable temp. Management acted like it was just me complaining….I was so disappointed. The people who work in the office are condescending & incompetent. Ask for Cameron or don't even bother. He is very knowledgeable, honest and hardworking. The manager, Whitney, is disrespectful and uses repetitive "customer service language" instead of talking to you like a real person. I was a hotel manager for 3 years and I can tell you she is in the WRONG field or not happy with her job. Probably both. She does not listen, responds poorly to conflict, and lacks understanding of how to interact with residents. She needs to be reminded that residents are customers and people with rights, not just checks to be cashed. 2 weeks ago my sub-lessee moved out. I called to ask about the status of my deposit return and an itemization of any damages. The manager, Whitney, said in a snarky and fake-nice tone, "All deposits are returned within 21 days of move-out." I didn't ask for their policy, I asked about MY deposit. I simply replied that I would wait the 21 days. She repeated herself again, blah blah blah "All deposits are returned within 21 days. You will receive it by then." Clearly this woman is a total airhead with no business etiquette. I would not recommend living here to anyone unless you are out of options. I moved as soon as I could get someone to sublet. I am so happy to have gotten away from this mess of a place.
I have been a resident of SpringTree for a number of years now, and I have not enjoyed a single year of it. Every year, kids run rampant across your yard, yelling at one another, littering your yard with snack wrappers and sticks, digging up your yard, and even sit on your stoop and yell at each other. It's not uncommon for the kids to even come screaming through the hallways and bang on your door because they think it's funny. And what does the management do about all of this? Nothing. They send ONE letter saying for parents to watch their kids while they play, and of course the parents are too lazy to watch their kids as they're told to. It's not even uncommon for the parents themselves to yell across the complex for their kids to come home. I tell you all - If you want a place to live in peace and quiet, this is NOT the place! The buildings are also VERY dated! One side of the complex is even sinking into the ground! The garages look like they were built in the 70's and never remodeled. Raccoons will LOVE to go from garage to garage and litter what ever they bring from the adjoining unit over to yours, and just dump it there. I've even found little paw prints on my car that I keep in the garage. Don't ask the management to do anything about it, because they won't. They care more about making the office look pretty and updating a few units to lure you in, then once they've got you, they release the complex on you. I will say that I am looking forward of moving out of this apartment complex and moving to somewhere where the people actually care about their neighbors, and about you. The only semi-redeeming quality this place has is it's close to just about anything you'd want. And even within walking distance. That is the ONLY part I like about this place. Future tenants beware!
The property manager at Springtree will not turn the heat on and will not give me a date or temperature at which it will be turned on. The temperature has been below 50 degrees the past several nights. The staff told me to "acclimate" myself to the colder temperatures.
The apartment is old, poorly managed and uncomfortable. First, you can always smell someone smoking from your neighbor. The smoke penetrates into your apt from AC, window and door. It becomes even worse during winter time when you turn on the heat. Second, they will hold your package unless you go to their office to claim it, however, when you get off work at 5pm, they close their office, although they say they close at 6pm. And you will never get your package unless you have other arrangement.
I moved into Springtree a couple of years ago. At the time my daughter was too young for a pet so I didn't even consider moving into an apartment that was pet friendly. Now she is of age and we want to get a dog because my relative is allergic to cats. My building is not a dog friendly building, so I asked if Springtree would have another apartment on the complex we could transfer too. I loved it here and have always been on time with my rent. I was told that if I wanted to move to an apartment that allows dogs I would have to upgrade to a 3 bedroom apartment. I do not need nor can I afford a 3 bedroom apartment. When asked why I was bluntly told it is Springtree's policy to not allow tenants to transfer regardless of the reason. I feel this policy is really contradictory to the environment the Springtree staff boast that they encourage. My request is not unreasonable and is only being disapproved due to "that's the policy" ---which is in itself unreasonable. Other negative things to consider before moving in: 1. They increase your rent every year. They use a formula and plan on rent going up by $25/year. This makes staying at Springtree long term very difficult. 2. They loose your paperwork. When it was time for me to renew my lease, the staff filled out the renewal lease wrong twice, and then Chad called to threaten me as to why it wasn't turned in on time. Another time I was asked proactively (4 months in advance) if I would be renewing and they hadn't even told me yet what my next year's rent would be. 3. If the topic is regarding a conversation they don't want to have with you, the staff will lie and say they called you when they didn't. Overall I loved the grounds, the playground, and my neighbors. I am just rather disappointed with the extremely rigid and somewhat unreasonable policies at Springtree. They are very much a corporation and only want to grow with you so long as it fits within their policy.
This sis a very quiet area to live in. Lots of trails at convenient access point that are very close by. Nice apartment. Somewhat pricey for the size, but seems to fit the price for the area. Management seems very friendly.
I moved here with my significant other about two months ago and we love the place. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I had some questions about my first rent bill and Chad walked me step by step through the bill! The amenities are always clean and the buildings themselves are pretty quite. I love being within walking distance to the grocery store, gas station, and Pheasant Branch Conservancy. Plus FREE HEAT in the winter.
This is a great area to live. The apartment complex is a little older, but there are some units that are fully renovated. Apartments are a good size with fair pricing, and the complex has a pool, fitness center, business center, and residents have the option to take out a storage unit.
The apartment I'm living in right now is amazing. The schools that my kids go to are near by. The neighborhood I live in is very calm and quite. The area is well maintained. There is a pool area and a WiFi lounge and a gym for very one to use. unlike other apartments this one has people who can help you if something brakes or isn't working in your apartment. I love this apartment and so do my kids.
I just moved to Wisconsin from Ohio four months ago and did my best to research apartments from all the way over there but was only able to get out to Wisconsin once before choosing a home. I ended up at Spring Tree Apartments in Middleton. I absolutely love the area. I feel safe walking my dog at night, talking to my neighbors, and even walking around the neighborhood by myself being a female. The complex is in the perfect place; it is within walking distance to Copps grocery store, a PDQ gas station, some good bars and restaurants, and only about 5 to 10 minutes from downtown Middleton. Now for the apartment itself. The remodeled apartments (which I am in) are very well done. They have brand new carpet, vinyl floors in both the bathroom and kitchen, new counter tops in kitchen and bathroom, fresh paint, working AC and heat, etc. My first impression of the complex was amazing. The management was so willing to compensate and help me sign my lease and prepare for move in from all the way in Ohio, the pool was well kept, there was a gym and a WiFi lounge that seemed very nice as well, and in building laundry. After living here only a few months, my opinion has changed to less than satisfactory. The gym is never taken care of (paper towels empty, not swept, broken machines for weeks), the laundry facility is not even worth your time ( there are only three washers and three dryers for an entire apartment building with 24 units, the machines are not kept up so you must dry your clothes two or three times before you can remove them, the facility itself is in the dirty basement), the WiFi lounge is very rarely is useful (the printer does not work, the computers are often out of commission, and there are only two computers). The management also seems to stop caring about you completely. They will be as nice and helpful as can be to get you in the unit, but once you are here, you no longer are a priority. You better make sure to read your lease carefully, because they WILL find ways to get you in trouble at every turn. I had holes in my bath tub for three months, and I had to go in to the office 4 times before anyone even came to look at it. It finally got fixed after 4 months of living here, and I was cut no break on rent. The rent is overpriced for what you get and how you are treated but the apartment itself is very nice. I will be finishing up my one year lease and finding a new place to live though, but it is an okay place to first start my life in Wisconsin.

Springtree apartments is a nice, peaceful, quiet place to live with friendly staff. Beautiful pool area and generally affordable compared to most complexes in the surrounding area.
Springtree Apartments are a good value for the neighborhood. Middleton is a very nice community and I love the location, especially being right by two very nice bike trails. The apartments themselves are a bit outdated and small, but the price is right. The pool is really nice and the fitness center is nice to have. The machines aren't the greatest, but they have free weights, and the convenience and cost savings of not having to go to a gym is great! Also, the staff is great. I work at the University and it's just a 2 minute walk to the bus that takes you directly downtown which is also a major plus!
apt was well maintain. staff was very well knowledge.
Visited this apartment complex, the staff was super friendly, the workout facilities were nice, apartments very well kept and all the neighbors seemed very friendly. The neighborhood is great, about a block away from the elementary school, lots of dining close and a splash pad about 200 feet from the complex.
I had a appointment but I did not even go to it after I drove by the place. I felt that it needed a lot of work on the outside like most of the outside decks needed repairing.
