Green hills, cliffs overlooking the Hudson River, an elegant mix of historic and modern architecture, amazing parks and beaches, golf courses, and one of the most picture-perfect downtowns you'll ever discover. There's no other place quite like Croton-On-Hudson, which feels more like a resort town than a northern suburb of New York City, roughly 35 miles south.
The parks alone will make you glad you chose this charming village: Croton Landing Park, overlooking the bay and having spectacular mountain views; Senasqua Park, with its picnic areas, boat docs, walking path, and spectacular sunsets; and the crown jewel Croton Point Park, a 508-acre park on a peninsula featuring a campground, a playground, picnic areas, fishing areas, a boat launch, and the Croton Point Nature Center. It is also the location of one of the nation's best music festivals, the Clearwater Festival.
From swimming beaches to sailing, Croton-On-Hudson is a warm-weather paradise.

Property Ratings at Springvale Apartments 55 + Apartments
Mom’s Springvale Apartment In our search for an apartment for my mom we came across Springvale apartments in Croton on Hudson. Before inquiring about it. We took a few drives around the property and what was captivating was how neat and well maintained the grounds are. I called to request more information and I was “received” with open arms and so welcomed. Tina, from the rental office was the voice in the other side of the phone, she went above and beyond to get mom the place she needed to move in and call home. The process was very smooth after the application was submitted, a short time after mom was moving into Springvale Apartments. I can’t say enough about the professionalism, care and attention that all the people I’ve encountered during and after the move. Mom is extremely happy and comfortable with her new place, she feels safe to walk around and her neighbors are very sweet and helpful. I would recommend anyone in search of a 55+ community to look into Springvale, there are so many gems around the property that will delight your eyes, the most captivating is the river views. Always grateful, Viviana and Maria (mom)
I have been in my apartment at Springvale Apartments for six years now and I absolutely love it here. Everyone who works in the office at Springvale and Maintenance are excellent. Whenever there is a problem in the apartment I can either call or email maintenance and it is fixed in a timely manner. The maintenance workers, electrician, carpenters everyone are respectable and pleasant. I have never regretted for one moment moving here to Springvale Apartments.
This older adults' community is a paradise for people who don't mind noise. There is no insulation between the apartments. Every tenant has a story about their neighbor's noise. My porch buddy can't sleep at night because the tenant who lives above him snores loudly. The guy who lives above me has a noisy bed. Every time I doze off at night his bed starts squeaking and creaking and wakes me up. The absence of insulation allows odors to seep through to other apartments. Several people have told me they smell cigarette smoke from another apartment. I used bubble wrap to Insulate the wall between my apartment and the one next door because I could smell his oven in my living room.
Disappointing space. Upstairs units have steep, narrow flights of stairs. Layout of units is confusing .
Thank you Springvale, for being there when we needed help the most. As victims of SUPERSTORM SANDY, we had lost everything in it and were living with our son in a three-room apartment on the Hudson, when I saw your sign saying 55 and above WELCOME. A very nice, friendly lady named Tina answered my call and said we could rent their furnished model apartment. We will never forget the warmth and hospitality of everyone there, plus the beautiful views of the Hudson and the mountains, and the sounds of the birds in the morning… such a peaceful place to live. I hope if we ever desire to move, SPRINGVALE would welcome us back. Thanks again for your help and kindness. Sincerely, Audrey and Martin M. Long Beach, NY
From Manhattan...we're spoiled with everything nearby, Not for us, not convenient without a car! (another expense) Rooms and closets too small. Surroundings very nice. Good for a truly "retired" couple vs active unless you have a car.
Violet was wonderful, we met some of the ladies in The Barn and saw many of the units. May have to come back as I did not see the smaller units and would like to, so my fault for not looking. Hope to be living there by the summer.
