Property Ratings at St. Charles at Olde Court Apartments
Been here for a few months now, I DO NOT recommend moving here. There is always trash piles around the buildings because no one cares and the dumpers are always full meaning it SMELLS if you are within sight of it. I’ve also witnessed maintenance throwing trash into the recycling. The building smells like marijuana often. Most of the buildings have a mice problem. I also haven’t had a water leak problem, yet, but I see the stains on my ceiling and know it’s probably only a matter of time. Safety I’d give a 2/5, there is a front gate they said they were gonna fix but haven’t as people apparently kept running through it. Apartment floors are VERY thin and uneven so you WILL hear your neighbors. Cops are here frequently and been visited by multiple people looking for past tenants. Go find somewhere nicer, it’s worth any extra money.
I have been a resident here for many years. But for the past 2 months I've been terrorized by mouse infestation. I've single handedly caught 9 mice in my 2 bed room apartment. I don't feel comfortable nor safe un what I use to consider my home. Pest control does NOTHING
I wasn’t even going to leave a review, but the leasing office emailed me with a link to leave a review, so I figured I would share my experience. Here goes: Wow. This was the worst move-in experience I’ve ever had. I’m 23 and this is my third apartment complex I’ve moved into, and never have I had so many problems PRIOR TO MOVING IN. The leasing agent I was in contact with got sick the day after processing my application and then did not forward my personal information to the required parties. So instead, I receive a call from the leasing office saying my application was expiring and that they still did not have my person information and they required me to RESEND IT. I still have no idea what happened to the original information I sent. On top of that, the leasing office never answered their phones or replied to my numerous voicemails so in order to get an update or any information I had to go in-person to the office, which was frustrating to say the least. Then I get a call about information that was already disclosed to me. So not only do they not reach out when needed, they call for unnecessary things. AND to top it off, after processing and charging me my pro-rated rent, I was denied my keys because the leasing office did not receive a confirmation email from BGE. I told them that a) BGE said to confirm service they have to call them and they will provide a confirmation number, and b) that their welcome letter only states they need a BGE account number, which I provided prior to coming to pick up my keys. However, the leasing office wasn’t having it; I should have been able to just grab my keys on move-in day in a total of five minutes and it instead took over an hour to receive my keys, after demanding they work this out instead of SENDING ME AWAY FOR A STAFF MEETING. TLDR: The management here is lacking and provided me with a TERRIBLE move-in experience, which makes me very nervous considering I am now here for another 14 months. If you want a smooth move-in process, DO NOT APPLY HERE!
I have had to call maintenance every week and they do not believe you are telling the truth. I had to call for issues with Microwave and it was not replaced, dryer broke was not fixed on time and when it was fixed it did not dry clothes. I also called for toilet issues with rotten cisten chains. Maintenance had to come to fix disposal over five times.
Management does not respond in a timely manner to issues that arise at the apartments. Less than a year living there and I’ve encountered numerous problems where phone calls to the leasing office goes to voicemail. Think you’ll get solutions solved quickly? Think again. They said they’ll call you as soon as possible? Try when it’s convenient for them. While the exterior is pretty to look at, the apartments are not the same. You can tell they’re hiding something by the numerous coats of paint on the walls. Didn’t help that I had to go through a virtual tour either. Had I been able to inspect the apartment in person, I would’ve seen it’s true colors: poorly refurbished to hide imperfections for an apartment not worth the rent
I’m looking forward to moving next year. Serious mice issues here. The only solution offered so far were mice traps or get a cat...not acceptable.
IF YOUR LOOKING FOR PEACE AND QUIET THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. I have been living here for 4 years this place continues to get worse. when I first moved into my apartment their were dead roaches all over the kitchen. I should have known then I made a mistake moving to these apartments. I live with a neighbor who blast his music in the morning and evening. It's so loud I can feel the vibrations on the floor. When he is not playing his music it's his surround sound. I can't even hear my own tv nor hang in my own living room it covers the whole apartment. When my neighbors smoke cigarettes I have to turn my air off because my whole apartment smells like cigaretts. I don't smoke and it really bothers me that I have to subject my child and myself to second hand smoke. The walls are so thin I can hear when my neighors are talking or even walking around there apartment. I can the water moving through the piles when they run their shower or bath. I have never been so stressed out in my life. I made 2 complaints about my neighbor with the noise and nothing has happened. When you put a maintenance it takes forever to be handled. The mice has been a big problem in the apartments. These apartments are so old and need to be torn down. I know some many unhappy residents who have been living there for years and are looking to move once their lease is up. My lease is almost up and I rather pay extra money to live somewhere that I can have peace of mind.
I moved here in October 2017. I signed everything and gave the leasing office employee my credit card to make my first month's payment and security deposit. Within a few days I received a bill in the mail which included late fees and a nonpayment notice. Apparently the girl hadn't charged me for the security deposit when I made my payments and somehow that was my fault even though she inputted the amount that was to be removed from my card. I agreed to pay the security deposit but felt it was unfair to make me pay late fees for something I thought was already paid for. I spoke with several people before I was able to resolve the issue. Then I had several issues with the leasing office not notifying maintenance of my requests. I would call, they would say someone would be out to fix the issue, then nothing. I eventually figured out how to make request online which maintenance responded to directly. Most recently I get a notice saying that I hadn't paid my rent for the month and would be evicted if I didn't make the payment. After the initial issue when I first moved in I decided to set up the auto-pay but somehow my payments were canceled and had occurred late fees and court fees. I went ahead and paid the the late fees because I didn't want to go through the hassle I went through before. However I did want the number to corporate so I called the office again to ask for the number to the corporate number and they hung up on me. I tried calling back and they were no longer taking my calls. I hope they get better but I won't be here to find out.
Horrible management. Bought a house and needed to break my lease.final Paperwork was sent to me by mail to sign but ended up being forwarded to my new address. Went to the office to notify them I had not received it and they couldn't find a copy I could sign so they said they would call me. No calls from them but I got the original paperwork in the mail , signed it andturned it in with my keys and the management said everything was fine. Fast forward the next month and they withdrew rent from my account even though I had paid the two months rent fine for breaking the lease before I handed everything back and had the receipt to show for it. Manager said I did not sign the addendum therefore I was not released from the least. They had not communicated there was more paperwork to be removed from the lease. They produced yet another paper to sign and stated they thought they had everything before but yet we're giving me a hard time about returning the money they withdrew from my account and wanted me to dispute it. This could have easily been solved if they had sent all the paperwork together or at least been better organized and included the required documents in the checklist they sent to me.
Been at st Charles about a year now and it’s pretty great. Let’s start with the tour and moving process. Arrived to tour the property I was a tad bit late due to my crazy job. My leasing consultant Kendra P. was very understanding and just a all around happy person. Very knowledgeable and seemed very trustworthy. She walked me through the whole process and had the answer to every one of my questions. There was no “oh let me check that.” She showed me the actual unit I’d be movin into during the tour and not just the model. Which was awesome. I applied got approved and did the walk thru before moving in and told her everything that I’d like touched up. I signed the lease and moved it very easy and painless. She was wonderful When my furnace stopped working I contacted her and they were there within 2 hrs. Part needed to be ordered and they did a temp fix until it came the next week. Definitely will be renewing my lease.
I’ve been living here for over a year now and recently renewed my lease. I really love my apartment. Any time I need something done, which is rare, maintenance comes out same day or next day. Kendra moved me in and even to this day when I have a question she still helps me out. Everyone’s experience is going to be different but I truly have no complaints!
I am very disappointed in St Charles At Olde Court. They have a rodent problem, have to come home everyday to the smell of weed. Weed smell comes thru your vents. The hall way stays dirty. Kids hang out in the hall way, and leave trash in front of your door. They have the nerve to increase their rent for what. Had to report the mice problem numerous times.
I've been living at st Charles for a little over a year. I recently renewed my lease because I really like it here. Kendra moved me in and even a year later whenever I have questions she never hesitates to answer them for me. The managers are really nice. I haven't had too many maintenance issues in my home but whenever I've called they come right out. I even got my cousin to move in here that's how much I really like it here. Keep up the good work...
This place is DISGUSTING!!!!!! There is a mice infestation that is soooo unbearable, you will want to Brel your lease. The rental office is poor at best and maintenance could care less. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY FAKE REVIEWS!!!!
For the money, these apartments are very spacious and come with a lot of amenities. There is a pool, exercise room, and tennis courts. I do have to say, the exercise room could stand for some updating, but that aside, the clubhouse is kept up well. The location is close to transit and highways & there's plenty of shopping nearby. It's very convenient. We lived here a long time ago, moved out, and moved back again because nothing compared to it & it fits our budget and family perfectly. The first time we had a 2 bed, 2 full bath and this time we have a 3 bed, 2 bath unit. 2 of the rooms are huge. We are also very lucky to have great neighbors & the few times there have been problems, management has responded quickly. Management can't control what some of the tenants do, but they put up signs making it clear that throwing trash around or leaving things in the hallways or not cleaning up after your dog will not be tolerated. They issue fines for these things. The grounds are taken care of very well, so they are extremely clean. The only issue I ever see is around the dumpsters. It tends to overflow sometimes. If someone's dog gets into the garbage, as another reviewer said, that means they're not watching their dog closely enough. Also, maintenance is quick and painless. Whenever I've needed something fixed, they have come out within a day or 2 as long as they have the parts to fix the problem & if not, they let us know. We are about to move out again now, but it's only because we're buying a house. We've been here for about 3 years and would recommend it to anyone.
I've lived at St. Charles for 2 years now and my stay has been extremely pleasant. Any problems I've had in my apartment have been handled quickly by management and maintenance. The rent is reasonable and the pool is huge along with tennis courts and resident events.
This is the worst experience I have had in my entire life. The people who live here throw their trash everywhere which my dogs inevitably get in to. I have had to take my dogs to the emergency clinic more than once because of the trash the people have thrown on the ground. I have one neighbor who seems to think their apartment is a night club and blasts their music so loud that my floors and walls shake. I have another neighbor who gets in to domestic violence situations on a weekly basis and I have to listen to them screaming at each other and throwing things at each other and hitting each other. Despite my many complaints to the management and the police about the trash, noise, and domestic violence, nothing is ever addressed. Instead, I get a false complaint against me about my dogs supposedly being loud and am threatened with eviction. They say this is a gated community yet I have never seen the gates closed myself.I have had visitors come over and say the gates were closed and all they did was tell the guard they were visiting a friend and they were let in with no questions asked. I have been threatened by other tenants that they would kill my dogs, I have been sexually harassed on multiple occasions by other tenants, I have had to spend ridiculous amounts of time and money to pump my dogs' stomachs because of the trash everywhere, I have been kept up at all hours of the night causing a less than stellar performance at my job because of noise, and I have been threatened to be evicted due to a revenge complaint and the management has done absolutely nothing to rectify any of these situations. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! This place is the biggest mistake I have made in my entire life and I am counting down the days until I can escape.
Hello I love it here I've been here for 4yrs now.its a nice, safe, clean and quiet community.the staff is very nice and supportive.if you need some done in your apt they come out in fix.they have events for the residents.they have big pool and tennis court which I haven't. Try yet but the residents and their family be there.i don't want to leve this place no time soon.thats why I'm holding on until I get my house .
i love my apartment. it is very spacious for a great cost. The maitnence crew is very efficent. the leasing staff is always friendly and helpful. the neighborhood is quiet however the parking can be limited sometimes especially on the weekend with my apartment being close to the rental office that is able to be rented out for parties.
We have lived here for two years now and it has had its pros and cons. Cons would be slow maintenance (at times), rodent issues (which isn't entirely their fault), messy hallways (which is there fault), and poor snow removal. The pros would include the pleasant office staff, they did a great job of trying to regulate trash removal (unfortunately you can't make residents use the proper disposal techniques), the pool and life guards was pretty decent, and the weight lifting center was nice.
First things first when your renting an apartment whether you're renting for yourself or with a child is, do your research and pray. Research the community, the leasing company and the schools around the area. Get a feel for what your getting yourself into, this is your well being and sanity for however long you sign your lease for. When my sister niece and I signed our lease at St.Charles at olde court we were well aware of the community and leasing company we were signing to. The apartment complex is beautiful the community is great and the perks of living there lined up with gods plan for our living situation. We currently live in a spacious 2 bedroom 2 bath, washer dryer unit in the apartment, water and trash included, not mention a tennis court, Olympic size pool and a gym on site. Everything we were looking for, at a reasonable price. Not often can u find all that for a great price, but that's all just God working in our favor and knowing the struggle we went through as a family. Do your research and pray and let God do the rest!
I have been a resident of St. Charles at Olde Court now for one year. I just happily renewed my lease because I have been impressed with the service standards here, since day 1. First of all, the apartments are VERY spacious. Closets are generous, and the kitchen and bathrooms are modern and very nice. Maintenance is always polite, friendly, and FAST! I just recently needed service on a Sunday and not only did they respond via the emergency voice mail I left, they also got a specialist out because the issue was more than the initial technician could repair. Lastly the office staff is always helpful, accommodating, and they are always doing creative things for us on a monthly basis. From recipes in our monthly newsletter, to Zumba or even breakfast for us at the front gate as an act of tenant appreciation! I have made myself at home and, plan to stay here for a while! :-)
I moved here in January, and I absolutely love it. It is quite and my neighbors are more that helpful and nice. St.Charles at Old Court was exactly what I was looking in an apartment. I moved from a house so space was important for me because I had big furniture. It was also very important that I have a washer and dryer in my apartment as this what i was used to in a house. I found what was most important to me here; space, washer and dryer, very nice neighborhood, cleanliness, great schools, near mass transit, a number of grocery stores to choose from, friendly staff, and efficient maintenance. I completely understand why everyone I have encountered that lives here now, and have lived here in the past, has stayed a minimum of 5 years.
This is a great place to live if you want peace of mind and tranquility!! Its very quiet, clean and well maintained. The apartments are spacious with large walk in closets and nice large eat in kitchens. I have never seen one roach or rodent this is such a plus!! It has a Olympic size pool, large tennis courts, and great entertainment area for family events or a great party. St. Charles offers a great way of living with awesome peace of mind!!
