Property Ratings at St. James
Don't even waste your time reading reviews for 2020 or 2018. It's 2024 and this building is amazing. I work for a large Investment bank and this place is just what I needed (going on 3 years on at the complex). Quiet on the days it needs to be and fun/exciting on the weekends. The Management team is truly awesome, the service levels here is best in class. If you want to live in a truly amazing building with great people, come to the St. James.
The place is falling apart with garage doors constantly broken and/or manually left open by residents. Just yesterday multiple vehicles were burglarized by forced entry (broken windows), there's virtually never a time when all elevators are operational, old appliances are stored in the garage like a junkyard, and management keeps raising the rent by a full 10% each year. DO NOT MOVE TO ST. JAMES!!!
In the last 2 weeks I’ve toured several high end, luxury apartments searching for my next home. Without comparison, St. James has won my heart and I will be moving there in the Spring. From the moment I walked into the front lobby, Duane made me feel at home and immediately connected with me on a personal level! Even though I just met him, the best word to describe Duane is genuine. He took the time to get to know me and a little of my history and connected me with a few of the residents/staff to better see how St. James could fit my needs and wants. He was hospitable and kind, even going to the extent of acknowledging my birthday and giving me delicious cake! He truly went above and beyond to make the experience top tier for me. I have yet to move in and already feel like a resident. I toured several other luxury apartments in the Uptown/Downtown Dallas area, some having fancy amenities and others having trending floor layouts; however, NONE of them made me feel as connected as I have felt at St. James! — Not even close. From the moment you walk in you feel warm, cozy, and welcome. St. James has an atmosphere that feels like you’re walking in to your home with friends and family that want you to feel loved, appreciated, and seen. The personal connection and genuinity found at St. James is far from common and something to really consider when choosing where you’re going to live next. p.s. If you’re touring soon, ask about their phenomenal “Apartment Life” program — you won’t regret it!
It seems like things are always broken-- the gates, the elevators etc. The gym was under renovation for a few months, but unfortunately there's no wifi in the gym to use some of the machines they put in. The staff was incredibly condescending when asked about these issues. They promoted the new grill area and upcoming gym party, but failed to recognize that the most basic amenities need to work consistently for a positive housing experience.

I recommend you don’t move here. Windsor has let this complex lapse and doesn’t appear to be doing anything to renovate. The hallways are ugly and in poor repair. The elevators break, on average, more than once a week. I was told over 6 months ago that they were looking to replace the elevators, yet that hasn’t happened and no permanent solution has been provided. The garage doors break as well, as do the package lockers. When I call the office to report these issues, they respond “yeah, we will get around to fixing it” /- other lip service. The front office staff used to be good but now we have newbies that won’t give a straight answer. If you are looking to rent, look somewhere else.

Lived at the Trianon for almost 2-Years. The administrative staff, most notably Deborah, made my life very difficult and stressful. Threats to evict me for the slightest infraction (???), shouting on the phone and running up the tab on my move-out costs with every line item in the book. She's in the business of maxing out revenues for Windsor at the cost of community and resident satisfaction. The place is run-down from what it used to be. The hallways are dark, the elevators rarely work and the other residents just seem depressed. Saving grace to this place is the awesome maintenance and grounds staff location. There are better places to lease in the Uptown area. 4/10

I have been living here for 6 months and absolutely love it. The location/amenties are awesome, the maintenance response time/leasing offer people could not be more helpful or accommodating. Everyone is always shocked when I tell them how much I pay for rent because its such a beautiful building / such a nice neighborhood. One of the safest spots to walk your dog at 2 am in uptown for sure.

Apartment is old, needs updating, has water issues after large rain in common areas and first floor units, good access to community dog park, but the artificial grass around apartment smells. Make sure you ask about CAM costs and the pool does get crowded - nice plus is free covered parking
This is the perfect building and location bordering Uptown and the Harwood District. Grounds are well kept. Maintenance is top notch. There is a large courtyard, pool with waterfall. Blocks from the Katy trail. It is within walking distance to AAC, Crescent Court and multiple restaurants.
Perfect location to walk to Katy Trail, AA Center, and Uptown. Perfect access to DNT and I-35. Generally quiet complex; however, if your place faces Pearl St, you hear everyone waiting for or getting dropped off via cabs. Pet areas/grass around the complex could be better maintained, as they're all fake grass and are rarely power washed, so they smell often. If you're in smaller building, be aware there is only one elevator and it is often turned off for movers. You'll be using the stairs a lot more than you think. Great maintenance staff that are quick to respond to issues. Have never seen any on-site security to address noise level or other issues, but safe area. Overall great place, but be aware of negatives.
