As the title says, all of these features aren't here. The pool is there but is closed by management 1/2 the time and was permanently closed most of last summer (2023).

The quality of living for what you will pay for is terrible. My unit before I moved in was disgusting (I was under the impression that everything would be fixed and cleaned before I moved in.) However, the toilet had waste in the bottom that took WEEKS to remove, the carpet looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years, and the doors and windows are well outdated and will not close fully. The shower tub also had mold and mildew in multiple spots. Actually, the bathroom as a whole was disgusting. The first 1.5 years of me moving in, there was loud "bass heavy" music that played until 2 - 3am. Someone also smoked marijuana to the point that the smell will enter the units (if I smelled it, others did as well.) But they couldn't (or didn't) do anything about it, even if they were 5 feet away from the unit. Parking is very, very bad even with the garages. People will park in the middle of the driveway, and in the middle of the pathway road itself. The tenants (at least some of them in my building) are overall loud after quiet hours, and disrespectful. Finally, the staff is sub-par. Nothing in this community is enforced. It seems as though they want you to say nothing, and just pay for a poor living experience. You have been warned, please consider another place to stay, no matter the "move-in" special they offer. People are constantly moving out every month for a reason.

My move out experience is not trending well. Seemingly there was no way without giving extreme notice not to walk away without having to pay hundreds more despite taking a month to month and giving 30 days notice when I knew I would not renew! The clean out scrutiny is ridiculous and ungracious for what you pay in rent. I moved here from a larger city, and lived in apartments for 8 years between two complexes and never felt in jeopardy of losing any of my security deposit. I was told its highly unlikely I receive my full deposit back. Terribly disappointed how my stay is ending.

Overall, I have never found much to complain about St James. However, being a current resident and having been extremely frustrated with the service its been very hard to bite my tongue any longer. Let me start off by saying I loved St James for the fact that the property is overall quiet and clean. Its tucked away with minimal traffic from the surrounding streets. However, more recently, it seems that resident retention is the least of this managements concerns. They do not care about tenants or issues that tenants bring to the table. The apartments on thee inside are getting very old and need major updates. For example, the windows have so much moisture in them and are not properly sealed that your electric bill will run up the roof. The windows are also not easy to open or close and often have broken latches. The vents appear to have NEVER been cleaned. They are very dusty and you can see the moisture stains on the walls from them dripping. The tubs and showers again are in need of updates. The tile in the shower is so full of mildew and mold that does not come clean with household cleaners. Personally, I had tile that caved in due to the moisture behind the walls. The maintenance team removed the shower tile and insisted on "drying out the wall." However you could see that the wood had so much water damage it was just gross. The whole bathroom needs to be gutted and re-caulked and re-tiled. Overall, once you are settled in you begin to realize the small things that you wish were better. And that is why I am disappointed in the service. They have repaved the asphalt and redid the entire roof and gutters but still have done nothing about the interior faults that residents actually would benefit from.

If you want to be worried about getting tires stolen off your vehicle then this is the place to be. I love the location as far as being accessible to downtown and close to the Falls area. BUT not worth the worry and garages are small and hard to park in. If I hadn't had a run in with theft and Jeff not doing anything about it and claiming "nothing was seen on camera" I'd say for price it's ok.
First, the apartments are expensive. They are newer and have amenities, so I thought it would be worth it, but it's not. The garages smell weird, and so does the front hall. I've cleaned them and asked for them to be cleaned, but it doesn't help. These are things you can ignore, and aren't deal breakers, but for the price you pay you can find better places. I have a unique situation, so I want to be fair to the complex, but they have been completely unhelpful to me. I had a roommate who needed to move out, so we needed to end our lease early. She works irregular hours, so she went in during the day to talk to the property manager. I, however, work normal business hours and could only go in nights and weekends. When I would go in, nobody would help me, and told me I needed to talk to Jeff, the property manager. However, he is completely unaccessible! He even took 10 days to email me back, and when he did, he gave me no information. Due to my lack of information, I've had problems with this move out ever since, and still have no help or information from the staff. I have called multiple times to try to get information, and every time get told they can't help me and it's not their problem and to call the inaccessible Jeff. I understand when they can't do anything, but the rude manner they have treated me is unacceptable. Again, weird situation, and hopefully it wont happen to you. On a positive note, the community is kept up and the neighbors are friendly. I just honestly believe that for the overpriced amount you pay, you can find a better place.
This is the best apartment complex I have ever lived in, and I've lived in many in the Milwaukee area. The grounds are beautifully kept by the most friendly staff ever! We have a beautiful pool, hot tub and newly renovated fitness room! I have never felt so relaxed and safe in an apartment complex! Unbeknownst to me, the smoke detectors were replaced in November with combo smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. I thought they just replaced the batteries, like other complexes. Well, fast forward to Christmas morning and my apartment full of my college aged kids home for the holiday. I hear the smoke detector beeping at 7:30 am. I take it down and remove the batteries to not wake the kids. Well, I also saw that 4 beeps meant carbon monoxide was present! I called the answering service and they immediately connected me to the sweetest maintenance man EVER! He drove 30 minutes that morning to come clear my apt of carbon monoxide, clean the air exchange on the roof and SAVED MY FAMILIES LIVES! I thank him every time I see him in the complex!! We love it here!
Beautiful apartments with lots of amenities! Great community and community amenities! Management is awesome. Easy commute to downtown and close to Menomonee Fallsa and Germantown shopping areas. A great place to live!??
This is a great place to live if you work north of Milwaukee but still want to be relatively close to the downtown area. The management is really nice and is really good at responding to maintenance requests. The grounds are always clean. It's a great place to live if you have dogs as well. Dogs will have plenty of space to run around and they have provided trash bags/cans around for convenient clean up.
In comparison to square footage, have not found another apartment that is comparable in rent. The apartment buildings are quiet (inside and out)and secured with an outside picnic setting. If swimming or weight lifting is a routine, its in easy walking distance to the clubhouse that also has a tanning booth and racket ball court.
I would recommend St. James Place Apt to live. The people living there were friendly. Issues are addressed promptly. I have never had an issue with the staff, they have always been courteous and helpful. I loved that they had a play area for my kids. The grounds are well kept and apart from the every now and then noise and the bathroom counter that is built to keep water on your floor than in the sink, everything is ok. They should really replace the bathroom counters, they are useless.
