Property Ratings at St. Johns Pointe Apartment Homes
Do not move here. Has roaches in every building and bed bugs. They don't replace or fix anything only bandaids that solve nothing. Pest control comes and takes months to get rid of roaches, and when someone moves out or in, which happens very often,(I wonder why) you get a new infestation. Management is useless and doesn't help just wants to argue with you and blame you for the bugs that where here before you got here. They even paint over the dead roaches in door jams and walls. Use outdated and rusted fridges ovens dishwashers. The rent is a ripoff for the unlivable space you get. The pools tou can't swim in because of the wild ducks and animals that poop and swim in it. Overall a 0/5 stars. Place should be shutdown by the state.
Property Manager at St. Johns Pointe Apartment Homes, Responded To This Review
Jason as we discussed last week, we need pest control to come to assess and identify the pest issue in your unit. When pest control visited your home last Friday, we texted you and your wife that they had arrived; we honored your request to not gain entry without you being home, therefore we still are not sure what it is you are experiencing. Thank you.
My fiancé and I have been here for about a year now; coming up to our renewal date. The complex has been nothing but a blessing since we moved in. This community has given us the greatest of respect and peace of mind. Great personnel in the office and maintenance team. They are quick to take action to ensure the leasing experience is what any tenant would want. Thank you St. Johns Pointe! Austin Davis
Maintenance is friendly, prompt, professional and great at what they do. Office staff is friendly, easy to talk to and accommodating. The grounds are kept nice. There is sometimes too much noise late at night at the pool near us and people are throwing trash on the ground near the pool and outside our building, which is next to the pool. Rent may be a little high for the age of the buildings and also for the water and sewer.
My wife and I moved to St John’s Pointe Apartments on March 31, 2021. Convenient location to medical facilities. We were pleasantly surprised by the level of service received from the office staff, especially Melinda. Very professional team.
Maintenance is performed quickly and efficiently. I have had an emergency on a weekend that was responded to quickly and resolved. Additionally they resolved my non emergent issues within a day Thank you
I have occupied several apartment properties over a long life. St Johns Pointe ranks at the top. Service, friendliness, facilities are all 5 star category. Location optimal for young and old, significant attention paid to resident requests in a timely and efficient manner. I am NOT a paid responder, an honest presenter of fact....you can’t go wrong giving this complex strong consideration for residency.
This place starts off great but after awhile you see things aren't truly what they seem. I lived here for 3 years with my retired husband and learned they have bad water and pipes! At least twice a month the shut off your water for hours for "testing".The apartments are in dire need of updating on the inside but that won't stop the ridiculous amount they will up your rent to once you renew your lease. They renovations on the outside doesnt match the inside. Thus having pest infested apartments and they will take they're time to fix anything that will mean an outside company will have to come in ( they had to dig underground to fix my pipes, my sink flooded upstairs did too). Also dog poo everywhere. Absolute worst! The only positive thing I can say is the neighborhood is quiet no crime.
lack of management is very apparent after a short time here. nothing gets fixed on time pipes burst and flood apartments, roaches everywhere, toilets stop working randomly sewage backs into Street making everything smell like excrement. management will just tell you it's not so bad and we got someone looking into it. None of them live here and don't value customers
I have lived in worse places than St. Johns Pointe, and there are some strong benefits to it. The apartments is less than five minutes off of the 295 highway which is great is you work in Jacksonville or Mandarin. There are plenty of kids, but most of them only play with their current friends. There are some serious issues with the plumbing in this place. Their water pump housing unit fails almost every single time it rains. So until they get enough people telling them, "My toilet won't flush" and "My toilet is overflowing" they don't really do anything about it. The rent is extremely high for apartments this old. The office staff is very nice though. Kathleen is a wonderful individual and really makes you feel like she is happy that you are there. The walls and ceilings may as well be made out of paper mache. If you live on the bottom floor and you have heavy-footed upstairs neighbors you can expect your entire ceiling to shake on a regular basis. Noise outside is bearable, but comes right through even heavy sound-dampening curtains. That being said, the lack of solid insulation also will push your electricity bill up. Just to keep the apartment in the low 70's we're paying up and towards $250 a month in electric -- that's a lot for an apartment this size (roughly 1400sqft). The living room is oddly situated. The master bedrooms are a good size, but the rooms fill up far more quickly than it looks like. The paint is cheap, and the doors are not fitted properly to the door frames. So you get a lot of doors popping loudly every time you open or close them. The maintenance crew is really, really nice. Simple tasks like bringing you some new air filters for your AC they do right away. Any serious repairs that need to get done go through a "work order" in the front office, and you'll need to call and repeatedly pester them and remind them that it needs to happen. I put in a request during the first year of my tenancy with St. John's Pointe for a bedroom door that will not latch and stay closed, it still has not been completed. Disappointing. All in all, the people are amazing. The "service" is lacking. The rooms are a decent size. The appliances are older, but still in better working condition than many apartments and private owned homes in Jacksonville or Orange Park. I considered rating them at 3 Stars, but some of the issues show me that they are trying to cut costs too much, like using old doors that don't fit. Just poor value.
These apartments are well kept up, any maintenance problem is handled in reasonable time. The people who work here are always helpful and pleasant. The rent and deposits are reasonable. This place is child and animal friendly. We are convenient to the express way and most places around. Please come by and check it out.
convenient location to shopping, the st johns river and the naval base. The apartments are big for the price they charge and they are always making updates to the property! The staff is wonderful and more than accomodating. They are always availlable day and night if an issue arises, which is rare! The facility has 2 pools, a gym, a dog park, playground, 2 laundry facilities and tennis courts. Most of the larger apartments have washer/dryer hookups as well which is a nice bonus. They treat military wonderfully! All around a great pick!
