“Great location” doesn’t do this lively neighborhood justice. South Lake Union resides in a pristine location on the shore of Lake Union to the north and off the coast of Elliot Bay to the west. Situated just two miles from downtown Seattle, South Lake Union offers beautiful bayside and lakeside views, a scenic cityscape, and access to everything Seattle has to offer.
Nestled directly east of the Space Needle, Seattle Children’s Museum, Museum of Pop Culture, Memorial Stadium and more, this neighborhood is bikeable and walkable to some of Seattle’s greatest attractions. Aside from its location, South Lake Union offers immense perks. Just take a trip to Lake Union Park for access to 12 acres of lakefront property with a boat launch, beautiful walkways, and the Museum of History & Industry, or experience of one its incredible local restaurants.

Property Ratings at Stack House
I never moved into Stack House, yet they charged me a $500 “move-out” fee on top of the $500 holding fee I paid during the application process. After touring the property, I was told I didn't qualify for the apartment. I specifically asked about the holding fee and was assured it would be refunded. However, after several follow-ups and reassurances, the refund never came. After disputing the charge with my bank and getting the money back, Stack House sent an email charging me a $500 move-out fee for an apartment I never moved into. They also reversed the bank dispute, taking the $500 holding fee back. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, they’re now threatening to send the move-out fee to collections and damage my credit score. Their billing department was unprofessional and dismissive, telling me to “chill” when I tried to address the issue. This situation has left me nearly $500 in the negative, struggling to pay for basic necessities like gas and food. I’ve never experienced anything like this from an apartment complex in all my years of renting and I’m almost 32 and have been renting since 19 years old. I have applied to hundreds of apartments over the 32 years. I have been alive and have never had a holding fee, not returned to me or texted me.
Did not ended up leasing here however leasing team were super helpful and transparent about the whole process
Great space, zero noise, great location, poor parcel management

I really enjoy being here at Stack House. The grounds are always well kept and its close to pretty much everything. Its downtown city living, but also peaceful. Love the basketball court.
I was disappointed by the leasing office's service, I took a tour at Tuesday for couple unites, the price $X looks good. And I was going to apply online for one of the units at Wed, but the price is $300 more compared to Tue's $X, I was told I have a 48 hours quote valid for Tuesday's price. However, after visiting the leasing offices for couple times, they finally told me the price at Tuesday was X + $300. If you take a tour and got a quote from the Stack House, don't trust it, because once the price increase due to the market, the old quote don't work.

Hi there! I'm so glad we were able to figure it out the pricing situation and that you decided to lease again here at Stackhouse Apartments! We are super excited that you are continuing your residency. -Stack House Team
Overall, our experience living at Stack House so far has been great. The only downside has been parking. It's taken two weeks for parking to respond. If parking could get taken care of in a timely manner, it would be perfect.

Stackhouse is a well-built building, and other than the unit doors slamming. it's relatively quiet. I've lived here since it was built and I have no big complaints to lodge.

You don’t want to live here. Within just 1 year, we have had MULTIPLE hot water outages lasting 3+ weeks. The recent one somehow took more than 4 weeks to resolve. In the height of winter. No sympathy from the building management, no urgency, no rent relief for the tenants. I cannot recommend enough that you choose to live elsewhere. I know people in other similar buildings with lower rents, much much nicer staff, no issues, and the same or better amenities.

Nice apartments in a great location. Walkable distance from some great restaurants and coffee shops, and lake union park. Depending on the apartment, can get good views of the historic stackhouse or the cascade park. Management and staff are super respectful and welcoming.

Verified R., thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at Stackhouse!
I've lived here for several months and have constantly been disappointed by the staff and services. There are many other buildings in South Lake Union that cost less and are true "luxury" buildings. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Stack House.
Overall this is a nice sturdy building with friendly leasing office staff/management. The building is clean and usually pretty quiet.

Kiana, Maddi & Derek are lovely to have in the office. All questions and concerns are promptly addressed, and their maintenance team is wonderful as well. Beautiful apartments, excellent staff.
Stackhouse is filled with friendly staff that welcomes you to a clean and well kept environment. It is very comfortable to live at stackhouse and I would defintely recommend people to consider staying at the stackhouse.
I love this place. I love the gym with the basketball court and I always have parties in the Community Room. The theater room is so cool too. I love everything.
Wonderful apartment complex. I've lived here for over four years, and I would recommend it.
The staff are friendly and courteous, the maintenance team is super efficient, problems got resolved within 12 hours.
My studio plus is great! Nice size and lots of space, sectioned off to make it feel like a different room. Rooftop is great with fireplace, grills, games, tables, garden etc! Good skyline views as well. Movie room is also great with ping pong and shuffleboard outside. Gym is very small though, and you always have to go to the Main building if you want to pick up a package.
Stack House is a great community where you truly feel at home.
Stack House is a great community, because of the polite and professional staff. They treat me with respect and kindness. I enjoy talking to the staff and learning about community news. I love the apartments as they are well maintained and any complaints are dealt with professionally. I have high praise for the current maintenance staff as they are very timely, professional and courteous!
Stack House has been the absolute best place to live in Seattle. Facilities are kept clean and modern. Staff is so friendly and responsive! Restaurants, shops and downtown destinations are easily walkable. And you can't beat the location or rooftop.
Very friendly staff and amazing building facilities.
The StackHouse building is excellent, the units are nicely laid out and spacious, the finishes are good quality and the buildings are well kept.
It is a great place to live and in a neighborhood that is only getting better.
Stack House is a beautiful community that is modern but still feels like home. You get a true sense of community living here and the management and maintenance are wonderful and always helpful.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Your opinion plays an integral part in our customer service. You really made our day today.
In short: Great building, great location! The deets: The building- Stack House is a new, trendy Leed Platinum certified property. It's got this cool old-meets-new theme going on. I love it. It's kept very clean and is well-maintained-- It's like I see someone cleaning every time I leave in the morning. The other tenants generally keep to themselves, and the building is super quiet. The amenities are great. The common room has a large kitchen, multiple TV's, a pool table, and an office area with a printer that is available to use free of charge. There are two rooftop decks, both equipped with high-end gas barbecues, tables, and lounge chairs. The gym facilities are much larger than most of the "competitive" facilities I've seen, and is equipped with new gym equipment and a basketball court (something you don't normally see!). There's a theatre room, indoor bike storage, and private storage lockers available for rent. Location- You can't beat the location of Stack House-- in the heart of up-and-coming Seattle neighborhood, South Lake Union. You can get the heart of downtown in just a few minutes via the trolley, walk to Lake Union, take a quick Uber ride to Capitol Hill or Queen Anne. And if you work at Amazon, this location is MONEY. Across the street, there's a big park with a P-Patch garden, a basketball court, and large grassy area, where all of the dogs and their owners congregate each morning and evening. And on a final note- Stack House changed management companies in early 2015. Most of the negative reviews you'll see online are likely related to the old property management company... so don't let the negative reviews deter you, because this is a great complex!
I've been living here for about a month. And, given how fast the market moves in South Lake Union, I'm really happy that I found an apartment in Stack House. The amenities are great, and it's close to great restaurants.
