The Highlands/Perkins neighborhood of Baton Rouge is located just south of downtown, nestled into the curves of the Mississippi River. A relatively upscale area, Highlands/Perkins offers a range of mid-rise apartments and single-family homes that showcase the best the Bayou State has to offer. A convenient location just across Interstate 10 from Downtown Baton Rouge means residents will always be close to the action. The neighborhood is also home to Louisiana State University, and there’s a welcome youthful energy courtesy of the campus and its students. There are diverse cuisines to explore including Cajun and Creole foods near the university and just off the interstate. Breweries have sprung up near the river and there are well-maintained parks to explore both near the water and closer to Downtown Baton Rouge.

Property Ratings at Stadium Square
Whenever something goes wrong in the Apt and i let them know, it does not get fixed. My Air condition unit has been bad for over a month, and it hasn't been fixed. I keep getting different excuses every time. I will not be renewing my lease mainly because of this issue.
Whatever you do , don't move into Stadium Square ! I've been having issues with my air on and off since DECEMBER! Temp is 77 already this morning. Last night was 84, and this has been over a week now like this. Best part is, they put a tiny window unit in my living room, the "policy" only allows 1 window unit that doesn't cool anything off at all... BUT THEY "DONT PROVIDE THIS POLICY TO RESIDENTS" This place has given me the run around since before I moved in, so again, please steer clear!
Stadium Square is run by the nearby Tiger Plaza Apartments Staff, and is seemingly the step child of the 2 apartment complexes. I'm a student worker on a limited budget and believed that for $599 a month I could make myself comfortable. Before I go into detail about my experience, I'll say that the surrounding neighborhood and building upkeep is far from favorable, but it's the best I could afford, so I made the decision to move in at my own risk. On move in day there was already bubbling paint from water damage with mold in my bathroom, which was reported then and a year later has only gotten worse. Upon move in there was also a large hole broken into my kitchen window that was reported but left unfixed for well over a month. I had to stuff paper towels in the window to prevent the wasps and birds from entering (which didn't work for the wasps). I reported the animals and wasps taking over the 3rd floor roof/apartment area and this was unaddressed entirely. I was warned prior to moving in that maintenance issues go unaddressed for long periods of time, and won't be addressed without daily harassment on the part of the resident. One of the many horror stories is that a ceiling maintenance job in a 3rd/top floor apartment wasn't finished in one day, left sheet rock in the bedroom, and left a hole in the roof that wasn't closed or even covered. The smell of raccoon woke the resident up and she was terrified when she found the raccoon touring her apartment. I figured nothing like that could happen to me. Months ago, birds made a roof hole outside my window, allowing larger animals into the space above by bathroom. When I turn on the lights and make noise, they become startled, baby birds go insane, and the larger animal runs. In my opinion it's a disturbing experience. The birds built a nest above my bathroom and now twig is slowly breaking through sheet rock adjacent to my light/vent, causing a longer crack in my ceiling that's getting bigger with time, RIGHT beside said water damage that hasn't been addressed. I have to clean up twig and paint chips off my floor and toilet pretty often, and I fear the day the roof will cave in, leaving me exposed to the animals in the roof. It drives me insane knowing that I'm not a priority to my property managers, but I suppose you get what you pay for.
This is my first year renting. It was small but reasonable for the price. Includes Wi-Fi and utilities which makes paying the bills much more easier. In a nice area, close to the LSU campus, and near the tiger trails.
