Property Ratings at State on Campus Bloomington
My experience here has been great for the most part like the neighborhood is nice but the maintenance is not as good. I hope you improve it in the future

I have really enjoyed living at State. This will be my second year here. The apartments are up to date for the most part and look nicer inside than on the outside. I switched units this year and there are more issues with this apartment than my last one, but overall State is great for the price compared to other apartments in Bloomington.

Thank you so much for the 5-star rating. We greatly appreciate your feedback!
I felt that my apartment was pretty good. The movers were very nice in putting all of my stuff in the unit. The internet was also good too so that’s great to know as this will be important during the academic year. There were some issues with some scratches and breaks in the wall so hopefully maintenance can help with that. Other than that, the tv and comfort is what I am looking for.

I've had a fantastic experience living here! The staff is super friendly and always goes out of their way to assist with any needs. The amenities are great, and the community vibe is very welcoming. The complex is well-maintained, and I feel safe and comfortable every day. If you're looking for a place that feels like home, this is it!

Very updated. Nice office staff. Only negatives is walls are very thin so you can hear loud neighbors and I’m sorry to admit it but they this apartment tries to charge and ungodly amount of fees.

So easy for the leasing and sign up process however some policies are very confusing and not given a whole lot of information unless you ask for it!

My apartment had a bug infestation. My roommates and I attempted to notify them on several occasions and they never took care of the problem. Less than friendly staff DO NOT LIVE HERE.
The apartments look nice but the management is not all that great. I have had a very difficult time getting ahold of them. I sent them a few emails and never heard back so eventually I had to drive to their office and only then did I get a response. While their website says they are accommodating on move in dates they are not, they are not accommodating in general.
The renovated place is nice, staffs is uncaring imo. Paeking is a hassle not a lot of passes though has space most of the time. Office hours are short and annoying to get packages. Also a walks away from the bus.
There are good things about this affordable complex. On move in day the staff was very helpful, the location was good, the appliances were new, the bathroom was new and renovated, the bedrooms pretty decent sized, the pool was clean, etc. HOWEVER, one caveat, you will visit the 3 BR model and be impressed with how spacious and bright it is. Then, you will move in and...... 1. Your kitchen and living area will have NO WINDOW except from the outside door!! Imagine living in a basement. Don't expect your plants to live. The living area is smaller than the smallest bedroom of the model. 2. There is NO way more than three people could be in the kitchen or barside of the kitchen. And, the washer/dryer combo is right next to the refrigerator. In your already small kitchen. Also, the kitchen cabinets are not the same quality as the model. The one-star rating is based on the fact that you are paying the SAME amount of money as your neighbors and you are living in a MUCH smaller common space.
I have lived here going on three years and until they started doing the renovations and trying to make the place better place to live everything was great and I would have recommended it to anyone. Now not so much. This place is so caught up in making things new and trying to make things fancy that they completely screw the residents that already live there and have lived there for years. They constantly are rude in the office and on the phone and anything that occurs you get blamed for. They are constantly running out of places to keep things and don't get me started on the parking. You better be first in line for a parking pass or they will run out and tell you to find somewhere else to park (such as the stadium and walk). They start construction projects and give a time that they should be finished and then push the date further and further back. My apartment has had many problems and they are fix half way until the next time they break. I have complained about my washer and dryer multiple times since I have moved in and still nothing has been done. Unless you want to have to constantly struggle with parking, rude office workers, and utilities that only work half way, I would not recommend living here.
I've lived here for three years and I can honestly say my only complaint was parking. Otherwise I was here when things were not so great and they did get better with new people in the office. The first year I was not sure I was going to renew but I got a dog and they ended up putting in a dog park and it couldn't have come at a better time when I was having to train my dog to use the bathroom. I get a lot of packages and there have been several times I couldn't get to the office on time before they closed and they delivered it to my apartment. I am graduating this year but really glad I stuck around the first year because it has only gotten better.
I wanted to give my feedback because some of these reviews can be misleading. My son has lived at Knights Landing for the past 2 years. For student housing, the pricing and quality is affordable. But not only that, safety is a parents huge concern being off campus. I'm sure my son would say how close to the stadium they are, and the basketball court is nice. I like how they have actual police officers living on the property. The property is tucked inside other properties, so I feel it is a little more safe. As far as the office goes, I have never had a bad experience when I had information about the move in process and how it works. I actually had quite a few questions when we first moved my son to school. The staff has always been friendly and helpful with any issues. The mail room is separate and only accessed with individual keys. The pool looks very nice, and my son gets to enjoy amenities that I don't even have. And now it will be even better with the new remodeled facilities. Great place!
I LOVEEEEE living here! I came to town late for this past Spring semester and although they were full, I went through their releasing process and am living in one of their 1 bedroom options. The floor plan is updated, the hammock garden is my favorite place especially during the most current weather conditions, and the pool is opening soon. I am so excited to spend the summer and the next year here. Their three bedroom renovations are BEAUTIFUL and if I had roommates in mind I would have definitely signed for one. They do have roommate matching but I graduated recently and need the privacy to succeed in grad school. My dog Coraline loves the bark park here! The staff are very understanding and willing to explain anything and everything. They have even been so in tune with the property that they helped me out when Coraline got loose. I am so glad I found this gem and will be sad to leave once I am done with Grad school:)
I have been living in this apartment complex for almost 2 years now with my pup. The apartment complex itself offers a lot of amenities such as a dog park, tanning bed, and more. It has been very affordable for a college since it includes almost all of utilities. The office and maintenance staff have been super nice, understanding, and always are so helpful with anything. The only downside is the parking during the weekends and nights, but other than that I'm pleased to be living here!
This staff is extremely rude and uncooperative. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. They lost my daughter's mail on more than one occasion. They failed to record a transaction for payment for one month. They entered the apartment without acknowledgement from my daughter and forgot to lock up! Never again. I would strongly recommend anywhere else.
The property itself is out of date, yet a fair value for the price. After living at this property for a year, I would strongly urge any person to absolutely NOT choose this place of residence for one particular reason, the staff and management. After months of written work orders and concerns brought to the attention and staff, nothing was fixed. The management was dismissive and downright rude and highly unprofessional, calling us names and becoming passive aggressive. Living in this community is somewhat like a prisoner, at the hands of a deranged staff that simply wants you present only to pay rent and keep your concerns to yourself. I once again urge you to look past this property if you are looking for a welcoming and pleasant environment to live.
Very poor management. They seem nice and treat you well at the office, but they don't care at all about you. They'll charge you for everything can can, including even a parking fee even though the lot is never more than 2/3 full. We got flees in our apartment and they refused to help us get an exterminator until after our lease ended. We had to go out and find our own and pay for it. After that, they got their own exterminator and then charged us for it even though we had moved out by that point. Just a super crappy complex, do not live there. These are issues I have seen many other reviews mention on other websites, and the 3 star review on apartments.com also brings up this issue. The apartments and the complex itself aren't too bad, but the management makes it unbearable. They just do not care.
Knights Landing is a beautiful property with wonderful amenities that can elevate a lease from passable to pleasant. The property is extremely pet-friendly and Dogs will feel especially loved by this property. That along with In-unit laundry and property-provided internet can make this property a wonderful choice for student housing. However; if you have a problem, do not expect it to get fixed. Management is slow to respond and incredibly opaque, issues can take several days to be addressed as the property manager is rarely available to talk to tenants and when they do, they offer nothing but platitudes and empty reassurances to usher you out of the office as soon as they can. This includes such problems as Vermin Infestations, Noise Complaints, and Security Concerns. So as long as you say nothing and make do with whatever problems you have, Knights Landing is the Property for you.
