Property Ratings at State Street Village
Seems alright at first, then you notice all the METH, smell it cooking in the halls, seeing it dealt in the parking lot and hallways. BED BUGS in every building, constantly. Need heat? Well just open the oven and leave it running all night and day. Guess she sleeps in the kitchen? Landlord pockets as much rent from tenants as she can, then attempts to evict them. Liars and thieves, buyer be very aware!!

Run!!!! Is the best advice your gonna get! So if you found yourself at the prospect plaza apartments in Trinidad Colorado, you need to turn and run now. Every unit is infected with either bed bugs that are so bad they fall from the ceiling, or roaches running over you face in the night. In 6 months time, all 3 buildings have been overrun and poorly treated for bed bugs multiple times. Sure you can complain but management will just take action against you instead of treating the issue. The plumbing is always backing up from every possible drain. They advertise 24 hr management and maintenance, but they mean they have cameras they watch (you) their tenants on, especially when they go out of town for weeks at a time. So no manager onsite, and no maintenance. If the heat goes out, well you get to be cold or try to heat your home with your oven (their suggestion). One entire building had very little water pressure and hardly any hot water, because management didn't repair a tenants shower that constantly ran on full power draining all the hot water from the tank over and over. Took over 3 weeks to repair after management returned from one of her multi-week trips away. Managers boyfriend is supposed to be maintenance, but only unless there is work to be done (he's maintenance in spirit). Then, sorry she doesn't have a maintenance person right now. Recruits different tenants, with false promises of minimal rental credits, to step in as maintenance when it's something she must do, like replacing broken appliances, or repairing the heater. Neighboring tenants are allowed to bang on the floor, scream loudly, let their dogs bark non stop and fight all while management turns a blind eye.

All my family had slowly moved to Colorado Springs Colorado from Illinois and so eventually i too, made the move, only to find Colorado Springs was too expensive & fast paced for my liking, since i am used to the laid back country small town living, i moved to Trinidad which was more my speed, i stayed in a cheap hotel while i looked & looked for a perfect place to call home & settle down. One morning i was referred to The "Prospect Plaza Apartments" in Trinidad, where i meant Janet, who made me feel welcomed and was the most sweetest & kindest person i met my whole stay here, she was patient, loving & kind. She helped me get a perfect place and made me feel welcome & even introduced me to all the friendly neighborly tenants. I also liked the 14 hour video surveillance which gives a added sense of security especially for a new kid on the block. Highly recommended place for people wanting to settle down in beautiful friendly Trinidad. A , 5-stars. Janet was amazing, super friendly, very informative.
Prospect Plaza is one of the best deals in Colorado. A great price especially considering utilities are included. The management is helpful and reasonable. There are plenty of places to eat and shop within a mile and ofcourse beautiful mountain views from my window. Good luck finding better than this for such a good rate.
I am relocating to Trinidad, from North Carolina, and had been looking for a nice place to call home. Well....I found it at Prospect Plaza Apartments! The manager, Janet, was extremely accommodating, friendly, kind, and caring. The complex is very clean and well maintained. The residents O met, while there, were so friendly. I am more then pleased with my choice of Prospect Plaza to call home!
JANET THE MANAGER IS THE DECENT PERSON WHO IS IN CHARGE SHE IS HONEST AND HARD WORKING AND HAS TURNED THE PROPERTY AROUND FROM THE DARK TO THE LIGHT IN MANY WAYS THE OWNER IS BLESSED TO HAVE HER AS WELL AS THE TENANTS TRINIDAD COLORADO CAN TRUST HER HEART AND THE LIGHT SHE SHINES
We've been here 6 months and the problems mentioned by the other reviewer are unfounded by us. There was one incidence of neighbors in our unit with unruly children, and they were promptly evicted. The apartment manager and her husband are very hardworking, decent and helpful. It's the first time we've lived in an apartment and actually liked it. I only gave a 4-star review because we don't have a dishwasher and this is one of the amenities listed.
manager is a lier and a thief. heat never worked right.. drug and prostution problems. police were at the building more than i was. cockroaches and bed bugs. i will never live there again. renter beware !!
