Potomac Yard/Potomac Greens occupies a one-and-a-half-mile stretch along the Potomac River in northeast Alexandria. With Four Mile Run serving as both the neighborhood and city's northern boundary, the less-than-one-mile expansion westward from the river creates a long, rectangular neighborhood with ample green space along the water.

The amenities are amazing and I love my apartment. True city living that I am still adjusting to. It’s my first time ever living in an apartment that is not on the top floor and I hardly hear my neighbors above me (or beside me).

Please note that American Water had an issue in the area that required an emergency repair after office hours. Unfortunately, there was no warning provided about this situation. We hope you received our emails with updates as they became available from the water company.

Terrible. I’ve only been living here for 3 weeks and there have been multiple issues. Let’s begin… First, I called and confirmed multiple times with the leasing office, prior to my move-in date, that I could bring my cashier’s check with me on the day that I move in, which includes my first month’s rent and security deposit. I informed the leasing office that I was aware that my lease begins on the 1st of the month and asked if I should mail my cashier’s check or if I can physically bring it with me when I move in on the 8th. I was told that they highly recommend that I bring my cashier’s check with me. I even called and confirmed a second time that this was ok, to which I was again told to bring my check with me. 3 days before I was scheduled to move in, I received a call from the leasing office stating that they did not receive the check, to which I responded that I was told to bring it with me when I move in on the 8th. I was then informed that I will incur late charges if it wasn’t expressed shipping and received within 2 days. I then had to rush to the bank and express ship my cashier’s check. Second, I informed the office multiple times that I will arrive at 10am and have movers scheduled to arrive at 10:30am, to which I was told by the leasing office that they will be ready for me. I arrive on time to the leasing office, but did not receive my keys until 10:50am. I was also told that there was a $50 charge on my account due to a miscalculation. In addition, I was told that my mailbox key was not available. I did not receive my mailbox key or an explanation of the charges on my account until a week later. Third, my dryer did not work when I moved into my unit (which took a week to fix) and on top of everything else, my a/c has been out for 2 weeks in 100 degree weather. As of now, it still has not been fixed. I’m not looking forward to the remainder of my time here and hopefully this gives people some background as to what they can expect living here.

Renters Beware: on the outside this complex seems lovely and in a wonderful area, but once you sign a lease good luck getting anyone in the apartment staff to help with any issues you might have. Both the office and maintenance staff are frighteningly rude, incompetent, and unresponsive to any issue you might have (even if it’s an emergency). Often you must email multiple times, call, and show up in the office before they will even speak to you. The units have subpar appliances and HVAC systems which lead to super high utility bills and constant maintenance issues. The community has dirty hallways, marijuana and smoke smell (even though the community is supposed to be Non Smoking), and constantly broken down elevators. You will be charged $100+ per month to park a vehicle, but the parking is not secured (even though they claim it is, the parking gate has been broken for a year). Many residents do not pay and simply park anyway since the community does not enforce its own parking rules. There are many other options in this area, look elsewhere before you get locked into an expensive lease and horrible mistake!

Station 650 is a great community. Amazing office team such as Mr. Daniel, the Leasing Specialist who provides you with prompt responses and knowledgeable recommendations. Trust me, he would find you your perfect apartment in no time! He is amazing at what he does and is caring. The maintenance team is extremely helpful and make you feel at home. Lastly, the neighbors have been pleasant and very polite. It feels great to meet someone in elevator and it doesn’t feel awkward. Be mindful of this property if you're considering renting here. Everything is not as nice as it seems. If you like noisy neighbors, loud children, and disruptive shared community spaces, this is the perfect place for you! Otherwise, be prepared to sacrifice peace of mind, sufficient to find parking that you pay monthly for, regularly deal with building malfunctions, including consistently broken elevators, faulty building fire alarm system, leaking parking garage, etc. Plenty of other properties in this area...do your due diligence to save yourself the headache that will await you moving in.

While I'm still new to the Station 650 community, my experience thus far has been an excellent one. Moving during a pandemic was a bit daunting, but Keren and Octavia did an amazing job of setting up a tour, helping me navigate the application and move-in processes, and making me feel welcome! From the updated design and fixtures in my unit to the gorgeous outdoor grilling space and spacious community room (with a small "cinema" for film-watching), the amenities are exactly what I was hoping for in my new home. I also appreciate the virtual community events like flower-arranging and margarita-making that they've organized for residents until we can safely gather in person again. I can't wait to show off my new living space to friends and family and explore my new neighborhood!

I have lived at Station 650 for 13 months now, just renewed my lease for another year last month. My experience here has been great. What makes it stand out to me are the staff members working there, specifically Karen, Nelson, and Demarcus. I can't count how many times that Karen has gone out of her way to make me and my wife feel at home. As long as she is in the leasing office we know we are taken care of. Nelson, in maintenance, is like a caring dad to us. Doesn't matter what broke or how long after hours he has to stay to fix it, he has consistently put the needs of others above his own. Demarcus literally saved my wife one time - not even joking. All of my friends in the building can say the same that these team mates make the difference for Station 650.

The building is nice and the apartment layouts are decent. Nice balconies. Apartment common areas are stylish and well maintained. Great neighborhood, conveniently located. Parking is always available. Beware, the apartment units are not the best, as far as material and construction are concerned. Kitchen and bathroom cabinetry peeling, falling apart, (upon move-in,) etc. Also, be prepared to be disrupted constantly if your neighbors are noisy, have young children, etc., as the apartment wall insulation is thin to non-existent.

It hurts me to say that this building is not highly recommended as I truly enjoyed living here when I first moved in. The apartments are modern and even though the amenities are average, no pool or rooftop lounge like other locations in the area, they do have a dog wash station that comes in very handy. Through the years, there have been many management company turnovers. Each time it has gotten worse!! The current management, Greaystar, is rude and not capable of efficiently communicating important information during a move out or rent paying process. Even worse, they have charged us hundreds of dollars in fees even though we had written emails of them misguiding us with information. I could go into details, but simply put, they are undeserving of the wonderful tenants that I have called my neighbors through the years. I tried reaching out to the corporate office for help, and they are even worse. If you must live here, make sure to have a great lawyer that can help because they do not hold themselves responsible for their many mess ups and will expect you to pay for their lack of professionalism and accountability.

Station 650 is a great community to live in as a commuter to DC or Northern VA. The structure of the building is very good and sound is extremely limited. The amenities are limited but the ones included are very nice as is the overall appearance of the building and common spaces. The actual apartments are spacious and well laid out. By far the best kitchens out of any apartment in the area if that is a priority for you.

I really enjoy living at Station 650 - the apartments are very updated with beautiful finishes, and the amenities are very high quality. It's a pretty quiet community where residents are pretty courteous of their neighbors. The neighborhood is wonderful and really accessible to metro, restaurants, shopping, etc. and is super close to Old Town. It's a great place to live!

The old management company was horrible, but believe it or not, the customer service and rudeness from a property manager standpoint has not improved. The new property manager is hasty, and not interested in doing her job right. Do not be fooled by the incentives. If you're looking to rent here, you probably earn enough money where you can rent most places. Don't settle for incompetent service. If location is a factor for you, there are far too many options on this block vs. tolerating horrible customer service. Considering what you pay as far as price point, you're better served looking up the street - or better - buying your own home! Money pits (renting) bad customer service is a lose lose situation.

While the apartments' open layout and huge windows are a definite plus, recurring maintenance issues, such as constantly broken down elevators have made living here a daily hassle. Additionally, the new commercial gym on the first floor is causing the floors all the way up to the 5th floor to vibrate. Parking has become another issue since the gym has no allocated guest parking (don't expect to find parking outside, so you will be at the mercy of management if they increase parking fees.) Lastly, the communal package locker is a lot of fun, if you don't mind searching for your packages for hours).

Hello, it's upsetting to hear that you did not receive the top-notch service we strive to provide.
The new manager is killing what used to be a great place to live. He and his new staff need to get their priorities straight and learn some customer service skills. As a result of them the building upkeep has suffered. Elevators are broken or "reserved" and locked for moving from 4-6pm (right after work); this is awful because I have had foot problems and it takes me about 20 min to get up the non-air conditioned stairs. We have gone from a smoke free community to a smokers paradise due to rules not being upheld. Hallways and are dirty and not well maintained. The clubhouse and courtyard are very noisy with the new clientele that have been attracted. I don't grill but I have been told they are always dirty or broken as well. The exterior smells so bad due to dog leavings that it makes me gag when walking to my car. Walls are thin and there are train tracks about 100ft from the side of the building; so it is noisy but I have always been able to overlook it due to the building and community. Oh and the new package system. All packages are thrown in one room where the door doesn't work. I've already had 2 stolen and management has done nothing except question how I knew they were delivered. They don't care about anything that doesn't directly effect them. From my perspective, it is crazy to see how fast this little community has gone downhill; 6 months ago they would have gotten an easy 5 stars. Our old staff was on top of the issues and kept everything running well. I sincerely hope the new staff gets their act together and starts making positive changes.

From the day I moved in , the property staff have accommodated my move in very easily. The place has great amenities , a modern gym , great community room with many TVs and great location. I am definitely planning on renewing my lease
