Property Ratings at Station Commons
2020-2021 this place was beautiful. Mid 2020 this place really started to decline. I am not certain if they changed the cleaning crew but now the carpets are disgusting. The 3rd floor carpets smell and they are extremely stained. This place was so well kept two years ago so it’s very sad to see how they are letting the property go.
When I was looking for a new place I had 3 musts - close to work, washer and dryer in unit, and pet friendly. So few places were all three without being ridiculously expensive. When I went to look at the one bedroom, I fell in love and applied right away for fear it would be snatched up quickly. Other "luxury" buildings weren't nearly as quiet in the hallways or as nice. The fact that the amenities are all included was a bonus, plus the only utilities to pay are gas and electric (and cable). The only downside, as others have mentioned, is the train. However, after a few weeks I didn't even notice it anymore. The front desk staff are friendly and very helpful. Tom and Teo are both very quick to respond to any issues. The floors and all the common areas are cleaned daily, neighbors are quiet and courteous. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Station Commons. I recommend it to everyone who is looking. I love it here and will definitely renew my lease in May 2020.
Took a new job in the city. My stay here will temporary but I think the staff here are wonderful. If I knew I was going to stay in this area long term, I wouldn’t leave. I am an empty nester. Good amount of space, security and proximity for my needs and half the price of Jersey City. Front desk are so polite. Tom, the manager is quick in responding, I really haven’t needed anything. Im pretty low maintenance. Parking fee is reasonable and option for storage. FYI, you are next to a train station, noise is expected. Within a week, I didn’t notice it. The horrors of NJIT is not the apartment fault. No Eliz is a local stop. You have to pay attention to the schedule
At the first look, the building look like a nice new construction but it is full of bad designs and rush work. For example, in my apartment the kitchen air extractor takes all the smell to the master bathroom, the aire pipe is straight connected. The hangers on the bathrooms fall. Don't get me wrong, this is not a hate review, it is just that the massive amount of money for the rent it is not compensated appropriately. In the other hand, we have the poor and rude administration of Thom or Thomas, we were without heat for a week and no notification or whatsoever, although they were empty apartments with heat and it was winter the administration did not have the courtesy of lending a bathroom for a hot shower.
This building is gorgeous, inside and out. Tony Rodrigues is a genuinely nice guy and an absolute pleasure to deal with. The staff is very friendly, helpful and respectful. The kitchen is large, even in our 1 bedroom unit. If you're a rail commuter, the North Elizabeth train station is literally seconds away. Very happy to be here.
Beautiful building, inside and out in a very nice neighborhood. Friendly and helpful staff. Tony is great and always helpful. Large kitchen, even in the 1 bedroom units, washer and dryer, everything I wanted. Grocery store at the end of the block, if you have children, there's a school across the street. I love it here.
First Tony is great, super helpful and totally professional. The apartments are awesome and the amenities are amazing. Security is a great plus. A great spot for flight attendants.
Apartment is spacious, bedroom is sized just right, with walk-in closet (wifey loves it). We can do all our laundry in the apartment as it comes with washer & dryer. Kitchen big enough to cook a Thanksgiving diner in with stainless steel appliances. A bathroom that can be used by 2 people at the same time, what a thought. When considering our daily activities, going to work, picking up groceries, and going out with friends, this building has it. There's a cardio gym and a separate Cross-fit gym. I just canceled my gym membership. My favorite part is the Lounge where I can shot some pool, or even watch the game, nicely set up. My wife's favorite is the courtyard with beautiful landscaping, fire pits, and seating to just be able to sit back and relax. There is even a dog walking area at the rear of the building so I don't have to go far. She also loves the fact that there is a premium outlet mall minutes away. The 24 hour front desk staff is always paying attention to the cleanliness of the building. The train station is about 4 minute walk from my front door, literally, making my morning commute a breeze. Also great that the Airport is around the corner which helps with my frequent business trips. All in all, this is a great place to live.
This apartment is beautiful. The rooms are spacious with walk in closets. Washer and dryer in unit. Within walking distance (like it would take you two minutes if that) of a grocery store. Only downside is the walls are a little thin and the train, but we're on the fourth floor facing the train so it's a little noisy. Staff is awesome too. If you're a commuter though, make sure you know the North Elizabeth train schedule before making a decision.
Just pointing out a few of the negative factors. The property is located in a very depressed area located a couple of blocks away from government housing projects and in a crime area. A low bridge located on North Ave forces trucks to detour around the block and drive in front of the building which means fumes and noise all the time. The structure is about 25 feet from NJT train tracks with whistle blowing trains passing every few minutes, undoubtedly as time passes these sounds become a real nuisance. The fitness center for 2 people in a building that would be housing over 200 occupants is a bit ridiculous. The apartments leave a lot to be desired in the name of luxury for the rental price being asked for.
Property Manager at Station Commons, Responded To This Review
I'm sorry you are disappointed in what you may have seen, perhaps you were in the wrong building. However, I must point out and correct several of your Misleading & Incorrect statements on this review regarding the building, its location, condition and amenity spaces. The building is Not 25 feet from the Train, but closer to 100 feet, the building is Not located in a high crime area, there is No government housing close by and our fitness centers are new, high end and certainly can be used by 8-10 people simultaneously, Not the 2 people you claim. As for the building itself, the pictures in the gallery will speak for themselves. Have a Great Day ?
