Stretched along the Mississippi River, Saint Louis is the second most populous city in Missouri. Regarded as the Gateway to the West, Saint Louis was the starting point of Lewis and Clark’s infamous expedition. Saint Louis’ most iconic landmark, the Gateway Arch, is a memorial celebrating the nation’s westward expansion.
In addition to its rich history, Saint Louis offers residents access to exceptional amenities and culture. An apartment in Saint Louis affords you the opportunity to climb sculptures composed of reclaimed building materials at the one-of-a-kind City Museum, or watch the Cardinals play ball at Busch Stadium.
Hit the town and catch a performance at the Fabulous Fox, or indulge in some retail therapy at the massive Saint Louis Outlet Mall. There’s incredible architecture to admire in the Washington Avenue Historic District, or you could experience the flora and fauna on display at the Saint Louis Zoo and Missouri Botanical Garden.

Property Ratings at Steelyard
Don’t rent here! Property has terrible issues. To start the parking garage door has been broken for three weeks so it’s wide open. My car was parked in it and was broken into, money and stuff stolen, and car was attempted to be stolen. Now I’m without a car. several other cars have been broken into and stolen as well recently in that garage. There is not any security or people on-site after hours or on weekends which leaves the property vulnerable to unscrupulous people. Took management 2 years to fix the grills that were broken. Hot tub parts don’t work, tvs are broken, owners are cheap and removed any media music tvs entertainment from being able to be used in the pool yard. Tenants pay for these amenities! Pool was green all summer long disgusting. I’ve had multiple mouse infestations in my apartment. There was a mouse in the lobby and a tenants apartment a few months ago. There is no preventative pest management provided to this building. Rent prices are unfair across similar floor plans causing price discrepancies which is unfair. Rent prices have increased while things are severely broken and unusable (gym cables are broken, hot tub, back gate, pet park grass, property has now flooded multiple times, garbage piles up in hallways, shitty tenants let their dogs poop in hallways). Parents you don’t want your kids living here. It’s deceptively pretty online but not anywhere near worth the headache you’ll get by living here! Go elsewhere trust me.
We love the Steelyard apartment complex. It is so aesthetically pleasing with a wonderful outdoor space in the center. You can spend the day around the pool or hot tub and then either relax in your home or go out and enjoy the exterior city atmosphere. Ballpark Village and all the city entertainment options are close by. The Soulard Market is within walking distance for a wonderful Saturday morning spent perusing the local wares. Excellent management, location and upkeep make for a wonderful place to be!
First, the property is gorgeous. The gym is state of the art. I love being able to sip coffee in front of the fireplace. Property manager Neil and Assistant property manager Scott really have the best customer service and care about the residents.
Steelyard has wonderful during my time here! The apartment is spacious and the neighborhood couldn't be any better. The grounds are clean and the staff take really good care of me and my fur baby.. Would recommend
I have been living at Steelyard for almost 2 years. I have to say, it had a rough start with the previous management. The new team they have in place here has really turned things around. My neighbors are awesome. I’ve met so many new people here. The atmosphere is inviting and all of the staff go out of their way to be sure everyone’s needs are met. My favorite part about living here….. summers at the pool!
This place can at times look gorgeous, but having lived here for almost a year now it’s more bad to than good. 1st of all, management company has changed 3x so it’s a mess. When I 1st toured, there were beer taps in the lobby and I was told of all these great common amenities. When I moved in most of the promised amenities had been scrapped for 1 additional unit on each floor, not so bad except they still aren’t full, they AirBnB many units. They also removed the beer taps in the lobby, which never worked anyway. Outside is nice but there’s a clique of residents that think they they own the place. Don’t respect quiet hours, scream all night on the pool deck, glass in the pool, generally monopolize all of it. When they do return to their units they stand on their balconies playing music and yelling even later into the night, and become confrontational if asked to quiet down. They’re so loud that I could tell you most of their names just bc you hear them so clearly all the time. Another selling point was package lockers. maybe this isn’t the buildings fault, but The floor of the mail room is constantly covered in boxes and there have been multiple thefts while lockers are unused. In unit, appliances look shiny, but they are cheap. Maybe a month after movein, water began leaking through the ceiling in 3 of my rooms. maintenance request went largely unanswered, they did fix the leak but to this day my ceilings have gross black spots on them that were never repainted. The design of the units is very inefficient. The cabinets go all the way to the ceiling so unless you’re Wilt Chamberlain, over half of your cabinet space is going unused. The lightswitch placements make no sense. Dishwasher and laundry machines are so loud that you can’t have a phone conversation in the room while they’re on. These are minor complaints, but irritating, especially if you need to work at home. WiFi also very slow. Don’t even think about online gaming. Elevator breaks once a month and even at best you’re better off w/stairs bc it’s so slow. To take trash out, you have to go into the stinking, overflowing trash room littered with food. I’ve also had to park outside on numerous occasions because the garage door doesn’t work or someone else has parked in the reserved spot that I paid for. No enforcement at all. The sheer # of dogs means constant barking and an ungodly amount of dog poop all around the building. I could go on, but point is, this place isn’t worth it.
Had no parking and wanted us to park on the street in a bad area than walk back. We never got to check in but they kept $400. Girl at front desk even hung up on us.
Property is amazing and great location. Property management is incompetent sadly. First- I negotiated a room with the leasing agent, it turns out after i pay the 400 application fee, the room is no longer available. They switch me to a different room with a different floor plan. I paid for the garage parking- when I arrive from a long drive out of state to move in, I am told there is no available garage spots. They didn't revise my rent! I'm still paying for garage parking without getting it! They have gotten my rent wrong both times, trying to charge me more than what is due. They got my move in date wrong as well and had to send a new lease. As I said before, the property is beautiful and location is great. But make sure you get everything in writing and understand the management isn't your friend.
I didnt know anyone when I moved to the area and the apartment members and Especially the property manager, Robert, made this feel like home instantly. Definitely more of a community than an apartment complex and there’s not much more you can ask for! 10/10 would recommend.
Modern, beautiful property, excellent staff, great location. Apartment has everything I could need or want!
love it hear! My overall experience has been amazing all thanks to the property management team here! They are very professional and have superb service on meeting all my needs.
Toured the complex due to a possible business transfer. The luxury apartments are definitely fit for a king. Management is very professional and answered all my inquiries regarding leasing. Definitely at the top of my list.
The architecture is beautiful. The location is historic and diverse. The management is fantastic. My move in was such a good experience, my leasing agent was so helpful. She made sure I understood everything before I moved in and answered all my questions every step of the way. She is kind and patient and everyone else has been so nice too. I would recommend living at Steelyard to anyone!!
