The city of Williamsburg is like stepping back in time. Well, in the historic district anyway. Founded in 1632, many of the settlement’s original structures still stand today as museums – all of Duke of Gloucester Street is a living history museum.
Because of its long-standing historical significance, tourism has a huge presence in Williamsburg. Other attractions that make up this fully-progressive city include Virginia’s oldest winery as well as a botanical garden.
The College of William and Mary, the nation’s second-oldest school, resides in Williamsburg. Its campus is in walking distance of historic sites, award-winning restaurants, taverns, and boutiques.
Williamsburg residents enjoy a plethora of conveniences, including direct access to major roadways and public transit. For those who enjoy golf, the Golden Horseshoe Golf Course is minutes away from town.

Property Ratings at Steeplechase Apartments
A really great place to live especially if you're living with a partner or alone! The apartments are cozy and well kept, the staff are helpful and friendly, and the area is quiet and well located.
Steeplechase has such a friendly and helpful office and maintenance team! The apartment is a decent size and the closets are amazing! They have a nice, little gym, but it is really convenient for it to be so close. There’s also a track right by the apartment complex, which is great! It’s generally very quiet, which makes it great for college students, especially with school being online. Overall, a great apartment at an affordable price!
I moved here recently and am so happy! The staff is amazing; the property managers are so welcoming and kind. They made me feel at home right away, they check on me to see how things are going, and they take care of hiccups right away. I love the location of these apartments; it's very easy to navigate around Williamsburg and get to 64 for travel. The neighbors are great, and the pool and dog park really sold me! Highly recommend!

Property Manager at Steeplechase Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you so much for your kind review! We enjoy having you as a resident!
The previous two reviews were primarily based on location rather than the unit itself. As a renter of 18 yrs, certain aspects of an apartment become commonplace. I will simply list some things that I recommend you consider, as I personally overlooked these items before signing my lease. -The exterior of the buildings far exceeds that of the interior (the model apartment is all smoke and mirrors) -There is no ice maker -The hood above the stove was originally ducted to the outside, however the remodeled version does not (I hope you like the smell of bacon for days) -The floors are vinyl- not wood -There are no ceiling fixtures in the bedroom, and only one receptacle is controlled by the "light switch" -The A/C unit is in the laundry room without a proper air return box. There is just a hole in the wall with a grate, so back-pressure is non-existent (I have to dust every 3-4 days even after buying the most expensive 3M filters) -There is no "Community Wide Wifi" as advertised -Parking near my building is inadequate at best; although not all areas of the complex have this problem. There are 26 spots near two buildings that have 40 units total. Each adult is allowed a vehicle- simple math says this doesn't work -The grass has been cut, on average, every two weeks this year. It's mid-July, and no landscaping has been done with the exception of the complex entrance and in front of the Leasing Office Overall, the vast majority of "our money" is spent attracting new residents with a facade of luxury and very little of it is appropriated for the tenants once you take the bait
Staff are wonderful. Apartments are clean and renovated. Very PET friendly. Large Dog park and pool. Beautifully landscaped with lots of walking areas for people and pets. Located next to Kidsburg. Open fields, volleyball court
Nice place to live. Bring your pets. Good sized closets and decent-sized rooms. Both residents and staff are friendly and connected with the community. Rite Aid, Target, TJ Maxx, Martins, and more are right across the street, with premium restaurants within a short walk or shorter drive. Newtown attractions are just minutes away with Colonial Williamsburg/College of William & Mary just beyond. Location is a big plus, and the schools, especially Matoaka Elementary, are superior by all relevant measures. It's nice to live at Steeplechase.
