Property Ratings at Steeplechase Apartment Homes
If I could this property a 0/5 stars I would but I can’t. I have been ignored and told my stuff would get fixed multiple times. I lock my dog in bedroom for maintenance and they never come. The maintenance men will never fix your stuff I’ve been waiting since June for a fix! Then the property manager will cop an attitude with you to act like she has dominance over you and belittle your problems and the assistant property manager ain’t any better. The apartments are not fully renovated they have AC from 1990 which will raise your electric so high and your concerns will be swept under the rug

I made the mistake of thinking the negative reviews were just one-offs, especially since I lived here years ago. But BELIEVE IT—the situation here is worse than ever. I’ve been living here for almost a year, and it’s been one of the worst experiences of my life. The RODENT INFESTATION is horrific. Mice are pooping everywhere—on the floors, in closets, the stove ,and even in my bed more than once. Pest control doesnt come regularly and management refuses to let maintenance assist pest control in sealing entry points. I am so traumatized by this that Ive been afraid to even stay alone in my own home. They crawl over you while you sleep ive had countless sleepless nights just from night terror. I should have never had to live like this. There was also a hole in my ceiling for six months, which management only fixed after they received a warning citation from Baltimore County Code Enforcement. They didn’t even show up for the citation regarding the rodent infestation and just paid the fine without addressing the issue. As if that weren’t enough, there’s mold in the bathroom that management claims are just “black spots.” They sprayed bleach as a temporary fix, but the mold keeps coming back. The A/C filters haven’t been changed since I moved in, and the air quality is terrible. I have asthma, and despite my repeated complaints about my health, management has done nothing. My dryer has been broken since move-in, the bathroom fan doesn’t work, and the ventilation is horrible. The dumpsters are constantly overflowing with trash and furniture, and garbage spills out into the parking lot, creating a disgusting, unsanitary environment for everyone. I’ve spoken with at least 3 other tenants who embarrassingly admitted to experiencing similar conditions but didn’t know the correct avenues to take. I feel like that’s why management has been getting away with it. Don’t be fooled by the affordable pricing. They’re quick to post notices if rent is late, but when it comes to serious issues like rodent infestations, mold, and air quality, they drag their feet and ignore tenant concerns. DO NOT MOVE HERE!! The living conditions are horrendous, and management is neglectful and unresponsive. Save yourself the trauma and look elsewhere! LOOK ON GOOGLE FOR PHOTOS

Just moved in - Cockroaches, broken dishwasher, broken dryer, broken flooring, broken drawer, broken ice maker - NO RESPONSES from management. Used the dryer and smelled as if it was going to start a fire and none of the clothes dried Emailed them constantly and no response back from management. Avoid at all cost.

I been here for almost 7yrs and I haven't had any major issues my apt is spacious my closets are big maintenance always comes on time they do a lot for tenants far as give backs and give aways the only thing is I wish they didn't charge for every lil thing such as trash and pool passes but overall I enjoy living here with a shopping center right across the street

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Wondering why this apartment complex has such poor reviews? They could care less about their property or the people who live in. If you like weeks without having things fixed, your car being broken into multiple times, loud music at all times of night, or animals constantly getting into the vents? This is the place for you. Over five years of residency and then I get hit with a termination fee. I ask for an exception and I get a “tough luck”. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!
This place is the worse, the property manager is rude. Maintenance never comes out and does anything, huge mice problem (they barely send exterminators), Walls so thin you can hear your next door neighbors conversation. Do not move here, when you "automatically renew" they dont tell you its for 2 YEARS !!! and if you break the lease now your stuck paying 5000 plus dollars. move somewhere else, this place sucks and do not care about you.
My name is Madison! I’ve lived at Steeplechase for almost a year. I truly enjoy it ?? It’s a breath of fresh air living here. Paying my rent is easy and the leasing office team and maintenance team always service me in a immediate time frame. Thank you steeple chase apartments for your great service and community! ??
Rhonda , Gerard, Cierra and Venessa and maintenance guys and everyone , THANK YOU!!! Steeplechase deserves an actual perfect review!!! They work so hard to make us feel like my home!!! I have lived there for about 4 years and I have always been treated so fairly and with humble and efficient staff members!!! For the past few months I was in the process of buying my first home and they have been so helpful and accommodating all my everlasting needs ( due to how the housing market is currently). By the way, lived around this neighborhood for the past 10 years and Steeplechase by far is the most underrated apartment!!! It deserves 5 ???? ?? ?? ??!!! Trust me !!! No ??, clean and maintenance available 24/7. Even though I bought a home and I should be really excited to moving to my new home , I feel really sad leaving this apartment and my naighbour’s!!! I will truly miss this apartment and recommend it to all my family and friends !!! And of course everyone who appreciates a quality living and apartment!!!
They tricked me into signing a higher lease. Told me there was a “typo” and that I needed to resign. Didn’t realize until the rent was due that the typo was an extra 300 dollars to the rent. Don’t live here.
The love: The apartments are spacious. Lots of closet space including a walk-in closet in the “master” bedroom. Updates are nice (although done poorly). Amenities outside the apartment are a plus (although I have not been able to use any due to CoVid). Resident contests and activities. The grounds are kept nicely. The hate: -I moved here in October... my ac was not working properly. I’ve asked on several occasions and sent work orders for them to fix it. It is now March and it is still not working. The thermostat will be set to 60 but the apt won’t be cooler than 73. I’ve never seen anything like it. -You will hear absolutely every noise. From your next door neighbors to outside. I live in the top floor and can hear my neighbor snoring at night. It’s that bad. -I’m taking a wild guess that new tubs were not a priority on the upgrade list because mine is old. The tub was not even refinished when I moved in. I asked them to do so after moving in and the maintenance ppl painted it with regular wall paint! Again, I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s still chipping. I just gave up on that one. -The upgrades are not professionally done so you will notice a bunch of eye sores.... ex.The plank flooring job they did is remedial. There are gaps everywhere. I have about 3 different paint styles on my walls and ceilings. They are some smooth spots, some bumpy and some kind of stucco looking. The carpet is black on the perimeter from dirt pushed to the edges by the carpet cleaner. -The hallways are less than desirable. They look very dingy. -Fees I’ve never heard of at any other apt complex ... $20 for a trash fee? $15 for a cleaning and sanitation fee? Due to CoVid they say... I’m not sure why they wouldn’t be cleaning and sanitizing the apt hallways prior to CoVid? Also, why would that be a responsibility of the tenants? I could go on but I think I’ve gone on long enough. Rent at your own discretion but I thought this may help give you some insight.
Maintenance and management are the absolute worst. I am a current resident and a nurse that lives in these apartments. Before Maryland’s stay at home order, I requested maintenance to come fix my washing machine that stopped working mid cycle. This was in March 2020. When the stay at home order went into effect, management sent out an email stating maintenance would only be completing emergency work orders. I expressed to management in several emails and phone calls that I am a frontline worker who needs their washing machine to clean their uniform. In April and May, I kept receiving the same emails asking for my patience because maintenance was still only servicing emergency work orders. At the same time in May, I received a note from management that someone would be entering my apartment to paint my balcony, which conveniently faces a main road. I was baffled and confused how it was okay for someone to enter my apt to paint my balcony, but yet it’s too unsafe to enter my apt to fix my washer. I reached out again to to express my frustration and got the same run around. I contacted management again in June after receiving multiple emails about the pool reopening and again, I was utterly confused. How the pool could be reopening, but still someone couldn’t come to fix my washer? I received a response at the beginning of June that a new work order was placed and maintenance would be out to fix my washer as soon as possible. It’s officially July, I was told that a month ago. I’ve had a broken washing machine for four months and not once has management showed empathy or compensation for this inconvenience. When my lease is up, I will be happy to notify the leasing office I will not be renewing my lease. By far the worst experience I’ve had with an apartment.
I recently helped my mom move into steeplechase apts. the apartment is very nice but the day we moved in my mom noticed the fridge light wasnt working and one of the bulbs in the bathroom was blinking. It was a Saturday and we called the office. Even though it was a Saturday the lady in the office called the on call maintenance guy and he came right away. it turned out the bulb in the fridge wasnt screwed all the way in and he replaced the light in the bathroom. Nick the on call maintenance guy also explained to us about the washer/ dryers and even the dishwasher. which he didnt have to do. To come out on a Saturday for a new resident and take the time to make sure we had everything we needed is just awesome. She has only called maintenance one time since and later that day they arrived to help her. Steeplechase maintenance and even the office has won my mom over and she has found a home a steeplechase apt. With guys like Nick to look after her when she has a problem just makes me feel better. I highly recommend Steeplechase Apts in cockeysville.
While considering a move and looking at places for over a month I found that Steeplechase is the best bang for my buck. Even though I'm not crazy about some of the recent changes, after living here 14 years I am still overall pretty darn happy and would recommend to anyone. Steeplechase has done some major improvements and always keep up on maintenance. Even the staff seem more dedicated.
Property Mgt live up to her reputation. Had no concern what ever for the special needs of my Autistic grandchild. Sent me a very cold Email when I tried to have my problem addressed. This is not the place if you and your loved one want to be treated like humans.
The apartment itself, is nice and spacious. The bedroom has two closets which I was extremely excited about. Maybe two weeks after I moved into the unit, there was a mouse doing acrobats on my shower curtain. Counting the days down for my lease to be up!
If you like mice then live here we caught 31 mice while living here for a year and a half and the renovations are done poorly
I love my apartment and I love the community. However, the apartment staff is completely rude and will treat you like an idiot. When I first moved in my apartment wasn't even ready. And they were able to switch me over to a new apartment after a major struggle. Ever since then I've nothing but bad experiences with the office staff. I will be leaving simply because of them.
They will leave a passive aggressive note on everyone's door telling them allowing dogs is a privilege that can taken away at any time but they don't give you a warning or tell you what's going on when they leave 6 shipping containers on the property blocking the only green space we have and 15 parking spaces. They don't care about their residents. Maintenece takes a century to fix problems in the apartment and the office staff are rude. Only plus is having a washer and drier in the unit. Can't wait to leave.
I love this location and the apartment has lots of space and all the amenities I was looking for
My husband and I have been looking a while for a place and either it was too far from the city too small or cost too much You see We have MBQ vouchers which is a housing program through HUD and a lot of places don't accept 1st year MBQ its complicated but Steeplechase does it is a Godsend It has everything even a pool and fitness room The staff worked with us when red tape reared its ugly headStill have yet to move but we're confident that it will be very soon
I moved in about 4 months ago and can't really complain. I haven't had much in the way of issues with my apartment except my air conditioning went out this past weekend. The maintenance guy came over and was helpful and got my air back up and running pretty quickly. Sometimes I hear my neighbors upstairs but nothing bad. So far I would recommend this place to anyone looking.
