Property Ratings at Steeplechase Apartments
I moved into Steeplechase on April 17th. Ever since we had the first hard rain, it has been raining through a window inside my apartment, flooding it constantly. Mold is growing on the walls and on the inside. Management has done absolutely nothing to fix the issues and keep closing out my maintenance requests, saying it’s been resolved. Fire waiting to happen as an electrical outlet is constantly getting poured on. Their 48 hour maintenance guarantee is an absolute joke. Your supposed to be entitled to a months free rent if they fail to complete the request. They aren’t offering to give me any money back for an inhabitable apartment. A separate issue they are aware from mulching too high has water seeping in another spot in my living room as well. Do not move here!
I had a very nice experience the management, Levi was very good at answering all my questions and showing me around the complex, super friendly and welcoming!
I’ve lived in Lexington my whole life and have lived in about every apartment building. This place is the BEST. They are always in office, answer the phone, and checkup on you after a request. Maintenance staff are always timely and care about your issue (Shoutout to Mike). I even lost my indoor cat and they helped me find him without blinking an eye. If you want a COMMUNITY to live in, this is the place.
Steeplecase has a new management company since the beginning of 2023 and new manager and office staff and it shows. The new manager Levi is fantastic. The pool is being renovated. The apartments are being renovated. The office staff is friendly and helpful and genuine. Needed to move from a second story to first floor and they made that happen in one day! The new apartment is nicer too; one of the updated ones. Things are changing here.
I have lived here since June of this year and have been absolutely loving it! Whenever I have any work requests the maintenance guys have been out within 24 hours to help me with a huge smile on their faces. The office staff makes me feel right at home with the friendly atmosphere that they have created. My dog and I absolutely LOVE the dog park that is right on site!! If I could give this rating higher than 5 stars I definitely would!

Thank you for your 5-star seal of approval! We are happy to hear that you are enjoying your time with us and that you have been met with exceptional service from our team. If there is anything we can do to improve your already 5-star experience, please do not hesitate to reach out. Your happiness is so important to us!
They have many different styles to choose from with walk-in closets, large windows, & skylights. Visually appealing layout & design feels like a home. There is plenty of parking, your guests can park wherever, there is also plenty of nearby street parking & nicer cars can isolate themselves from regular cars. The landscaping is beautiful with many trees, I’ve personally seen people out of my window walk by a berry tree & pick berries. The pool, gym, sauna, tennis courts & 24/7 mailing room are great. If the hot tub wasn’t still under maintenance for months, I would give this review 5 stars. They also have a nice little dog park that our pet loves! If the dog baggy stations are empty, just let the management know & they will restock them! Maintenance lives onsite & will respond within two days of submitting a request. The neighbors are kind, my old neighbor gave me all her groceries & pantry items she didn’t want to go to waste before she moved to Georgia. The location is great, there are parks, schools, restaurants & stores nearby. They also host monthly events that are fun for everyone. I have personally attended the community yard sale & made a couple of bucks. I also attended the pool party where I enjoyed the food truck & won some fun prizes!

Thank you for the great feedback! We are so glad you enjoy the many layouts and amenities that we offer, as well as our resident events. Congratulations on winning some fun prizes! Our staff is committed to providing the best possible living experience to our residents, and it is rewarding to know our efforts don't go unnoticed. Thanks, again!
First off, we never lived at Steeplechase Apartments. Yet, our experience with the application process and the leasing agent we worked with, Levi, were both HORRIBLE and made this whole move the absolute worst one I've ever experienced (and I've moved A LOT in the past due to work and graduate school). We applied for the apartment 1-2 months prior to moving and even put $100 deposit down to secure the unit. Both myself and my significant other spoke to Levi during this time and were assured that the $100 deposit would reserve/hold the unit. However, when I submitted some additional required paperwork, I was ONLY THEN informed by Levi that our application was denied until the paperwork was received and subsequently, they had given our unit away. I understand that they have policies and procedures and I would have been fine and understanding if this was told to us beforehand, BUT THIS WAS NEVER STATED; rather, he expressed the exact opposite. So, when I made it very clear to Levi that that was NOT what he told myself OR my significant other (who I doubled checked with just in case I misheard or misremembered something), his only response(s) were "I see" and that he didn't know when another unit would be available. Subsequently, this led to us scrambling to find another apartment at the last minute while remaining on their waiting list (which we were assured we were at the very top of but again, might have been a lie since this had been our experience thus far and every time I asked Levi for an update on availability, the dates seemed to get farther and farther out). And even though it's been a month or more at this point since the original application was submitted, I'm still getting emails from Levi saying "I just noticed this was missing..." In summary, if you're looking for an apartment that you can be reasonably certain will still be yours after you put a deposit down and is staffed by competent leasing agents, Steeplechase Apartments is not the choice for you.

We're sorry you had that experience with us, but we did tell you as we tell all applicants, that we need pay stubs to verify income. Our statement of rental policy is on display in the leasing center, informing applicants that they must show proof of gross income of 3 times the rental rate. You never brought us pay stubs and when you finally did, it proved the income was not sufficient. We hope that your new home is everything you needed it to be. If not, please feel free to reapply at Steeplechase when your lease is up.
Property Manager at Steeplechase Apartments, Responded To This Review
Heather, we apologize for the confusion, our records indicate we were waiting for documentation on a prior eviction filing and verification of income from you and never received them. Steeplechase sent you an email six days ago to request an address so we can refund your $100 hold fee. We wish you all the best in your new place.
These apartments are beautiful and spacious. They have many different styles to choose from. The parking is fantastic! I've never had to park further than 15 second from my front door. The leasing agents are very up front about the prices and they are very reasonable. I have never had an issue with maintenance. They respond within two days of submitting the request and they do a wonderful job! They have a beautiful little dog park that our pet loves! The living spaces are huge and most bedrooms have walk in closets. I've lived in both a one bedroom and a two bedroom unit and I couldn't be happier with this property. The neighbors are kind and respectful, I've never had an issue with them. The location is fantastic! There are parks nearby and Hamburg is ten minutes away. There is also easy access to the interstate. They have lovely, convenient amenities and the leasing staff has been very understanding and safe during the pandemic. All in all, I love living here and will continue to do so for years to come.

Thank you for the fantastic 5-star review! Have a great day! - The Team at Steeplechase Apartments
The leasing agents LIE LIE LIE! They will do/say anything to get you to rent. First of all, the pictures above are of the model unit. When you go into the actual unit, it looked NOTHING like that! My agent told me that I would be getting an apartment that looked like the display. The one she ACTUALLY put me into was a completely different model in general. In addition, the cabinets and kitchen appliances were so outdated, the place reeked of cigarette smoke, and it barely had any available parking. After some negotiation, I was able to be moved to a different apartment with better features. I HIGHLY recommend you request to see your unit!!! None of them look the same, so even if you look at one but its not the one you are moving into, then I would suggest either finding a way to get pictures or going somewhere else. I moved without any animals, but my agent also told me that I would be able to get discounted pet rent when I decided to get a pet (since that was the move in special going on at the time). A couple months in when I asked about the pet rent special when I was ready to get a dog, they said they couldn't do anything for me. After moving in, I filed my work order for the fixes I needed done that came with the unit (just mild changes to the doors, locks, etc.) When I handed my paperwork to the agent, she told me she would put it in my file. A week passes, and still no maintenance! I go to the leasing office, and it turns out, they lost my paperwork before it even got to the maintenance people. DON'T TRUST YOUR LEASING AGENTS!!!! The pros of the property are that it's in a great location, maintenance (when they get the notice) show up promptly and do great work. The landscaping is beautiful and the grounds are always kept clean. There are also monthly events that go on that are fun for everyone. It really is a nice place to live, but management can be sloppy and irresponsible in making promises they won't follow through with.

While we appreciate all feedback we receive, we are very disheartened by yours and the characterization of our staff. We want to assure you, that our staff takes tremendous pride in their ability to provide our residents with transparent service and information. We would be more than willing to discuss each of your concerns in greater detail in our office or over the phone at (859) 263-8100. Thank you. - The Team at Steeplechase Apartments
The large windows, many trees, and modern, visually appealing layout and design make this a great place to live. Feels like a cute home and not “just an apartment for now”.
Property Manager at Steeplechase Apartments, Responded To This Review
We are pleased to see that you are more than satisfied with our landscape of our beautiful community. Be sure to reach out to our staff if you were to need anything going forward. Thanks again! - The Team at Steeplechase Apartments
they add thing sinto your rent and takes weeks to respond. you will be charged for water on top of your rent and they added a charge for "renting" the washer and dryer on your apartment. I had this added on to my rent WITH NO NOTICE. I only found out because I got a notice on my door saying my rent payment was short. when I asked about it, it took well over a week for them to respond, o ly to say I had to pay it anyway. I will NOT be renewing my lease and warning everyone to stay away
I have been living here for about a year now my lease is almost up. But I will be re-signing. The property managers here are very attentive to any needs that you may have. For instance, I had some trouble with my heat last winter and they took care of the issue very quickly. I also had a slight hiccup with rent and they were extremely understanding and not pushy AT ALL! The pool and gym are great, we also have a sauna here. They are about to open up a 24/7 mail room so if a package is too big to fit in your mailbox they will leave it there so that you can pickup at anytime and not have to go to the post office. This is great for someone like me who misses the mailman in the morning and does not get home until midnight after work! The neighbors are quiet and there is no kind of crime here or anything in the past year ive been here. They are very pet friendly as well! I really do enjoy living here.

Thank you very much for your kind words about Steeplechase Apartments, Joshua! We are positively delighted that you have enjoyed your time here and will be signing on for another awesome year. We are just a phone call away if you ever need any assistance.
I love my one bedroom apartment here. I’m on the second floor and I love my vaulted ceilings, sunroom and fireplace! I have so much space including in the bathroom and large walk-in closet. It’s so quiet here and I never feel unsafe. I gave 4 stars only because I wish the cabinets and counter tops were updated but I’d probably be paying more for that which I’d rather not do!
I have been without heat for over a week and nothing is being done about it. Management comes across like they are so nice but soon as there is a problem with your apartment they take their sweet time fixing it. My heat has went out over four times and I haven' even been there for a year. Your heating bill is going to be sky high and the heat barely even blows out. The apartments look nice but looks can be deceiving so save yourself the trouble and keep looking for a better place to live because if you move here you are going to regret it.
Dont be fooled by the pictures. I dont live here, but just seeing one while apartment hunting i was quite disgusted. Carpet was dingy, smelled moldy, there is no patio so im not sure where they got a picture of a living room with a patio. When i asked i was told they didnt have any. Cabinets are hideous and extremely outdated with new counter tops and looks very tacky. The laundry room was no convenient to get to as it seemed to be basically shoved into a small space in the kitchen. Not impressed at ALL.
Can’t wait to leave! These apartments are ok if you need short term lease, otherwise find someplace else. On the plus side location is good and the new appliances are nice. Other than that these are very old apartments with which I’ve have had nothing but problems. Mold that they just cover up with basically spray paint. Paint job itself is terrible and is literally peeling off the woodwork. Also paint is splattered everywhere. The “new” kitchen cabinet doors repeatedly come lose or simply fall off (5 times in a year for me now). Bathroom leaks. Your electric bill will be through the roof this winter because of how much cold air blows through the windows. I tried putting plastic over them but so much air comes in it literally broke the tape seal away from the wall. They say they are “updating” these buildings but from what I’ve seen it will be cheaply done and won’t last. I’ve lived in a lot of apartments but this has by far been the worst! If I had the money to break my lease right now I would!
I absolutely love living here. The management is attentive and professional, the grounds are well kept, maintenance is fast. I never hear my neighbors, it is very quiet. The place is a bit old but it has been well cared for and I enjoy any of the character.
I've been a resident here for years and I am very picky. Having a bad experience at a restaurant is one thing but this is where you live-much different. Great location, pool, hot tub, gym, tennis courts to name a few amenities. Resident functions are held here and they are a lot of fun and great way to meet people. Maintenance is very thorough and does a great job. The staff is out of this world and will do whatever is necessary to make you feel at home-again I'm very picky. For the location, amenities, and staff this is definitely the most bang for your buck!! I've been here for years and it is my home. Looked at other places but I always stay here, safe neighborhood and very tranquil and location is the best in Lexington! Close to interstate, downtown, man-o-war, new circle-you can't beat that anywhere! Check it out, you will love it!
I've lived at steeplechase for a few months now and it's definitely an improvement from my last apartment! It's clean and quiet and my neighbors are friendly. Its a good price for the amenities they offer.
My husband and I love our apartment. We live in the farthest building in the corner if the building so it is very peaceful. I am thankful our apartment provides us with washers and dryers. The price of rent is reasonable. The only thing I could complain about is the outdated appliances and the parking.
These apartment are very nice. They are nice and have plenty of space. They also have great natural lighting. The people around here are sweet and have no problem saying hello to you. Very pet friendly and family orientation. When you have any issues with the apartment the front office is on it and takes care of it before you know it. Very sweet people. I love it here.
