Property Ratings at Steeplechase Village
I’m a current resident and it’s been a wild rollercoaster when it comes to management. For one they don’t answer their phones, ever! They only respond to emails and that’s when they feel good and ready. Maintenance never comes and fix anything so if you plan on living here I hope you’re ready to be hands on and fix things yourself. There’s a bunch of hidden fees that they don’t tell you about either, make sure they don’t try to pull a fast one on you when it comes to that. The only reason why I give it 3 stars is because of the area. It’s very quiet and the neighbors are friendly

We moved to a renovated twin single and love the new color scheme and lvt floors. We love the changes overall in the community, wish crime would go down with car thefts in the area, but that's everywhere nowadays. Overall community is peaceful and has a lot of greenspaces. Mary & Monica in the office are awesome and very helpful.

We enjoy living here, have been here over 10 years, a lot of good changes happening with Management and Maintenance staff. Mary is great at managing this property, and Monica is very helpful with all of our issues we have had and maintenance comes out and fixes anything within 24 to 48 hours. We highly recommend.

To name Chad 1st off, he was the number one reason I stayed there as long as I did. The places are huge compared to what you pay at other places, Hamilton Schools are great, the people who have lived there are for years are wonderful. The issues I had here are A the lack of maintenance to start with. Our 1st place was out dated, and Maintenance lost our keys multiple times and would say that they couldnt get in to do repairs, or would say the problem was fixed when it was not. Or they would say nothing was wrong at all. It took 4 months to replace the dishwasher. In our 1st place, and the 2nd place we lived in there there were 6-11 layers of linoleum laid on top of one another, molding and mildewing and rotting away in the bathrooms. When we upgraded our 1st night we had roaches (which they did address, but should have been checked before we moved). In our 1st place our neighbors were dealing drugs there had been 2 incidents with guns, and then when we moved across the neighborhood a neighbor by our original residence let us know there was another shooting. These people were never evicted. A month after moving into our new place our door was broken into and stolen, and even though maintenance and the people at the office tried to get us better repairs the higher ups of the company refused to do anything but the bare minimum for us. This doesnt even cover a 1/4 of the issues. The reason I say 50/50 rating is because the office staff is great, what sucks is that on many things their hands are tied. In general most people that live there are awesome, kind, and considerate, but they let a few bad apples in and they stay as long as they pay rent which ruins it for others. The location is nice if you want to be out of the city some 10-15 minutes to Canal or Grove City either way, and schools are amazing. Places in Grove City, Canal Winchester and other out lying areas are just as much if not quit a bit more with some updates, but not nearly the space, or wonderful office staff, and surprisingly to me are having the same amount of issues with break ins, maybe not so much gun violence (though at steeple chase the gun violence was a direct issue with 1 neighbor, still concerns me that they have not evicted them). Over all I am happy and sad as well that I left Steeplechase. I would say if you are planning to move here take all of these things into serious consideration and talk to people who live there.
Within the last year and a half this place has been trouble they moved us due to our neighbors dealing drugs in front of our kids, 1 drive by shooting and a gun battle in the middle of the street. The house they moved us in to had roaches within 2 months of living in the new house our door was kicked in and had everything stolen and ransacked. The doors are not secure nor are the Windows mgmt. said there's nothing they can or will do to fix problems. Some of the good folks here call the back side of the neighborhood Uzi alley if that tells you anything. This place is not safe.
This place is in need of a serious update. The apartment was dirty before moving in. We were not permitted to view the apartment before moving in. Had we not really needed a place to go, this place we have been a no.
I would love to rate this place as Excellent, but I would have to go with Average and it has nothing to do with the office personnel or the property, here is why... Steeplechase Village are properties with so much potential. It is old military housing, and could use some cosmetic updating to look even more appealing, such as Update the windows so that the property looks newer and give the residence new kitchen cabinets, as the cabinet and drawers are extremely old, that is the only thing about the appearance. Other than that, I like it. The staff is amazing though, Brent, Chad, and the new guy Jesse...they are very helpful and want to ensure you are liking your home. Now here is the issue... Maintenance, however could be better. Work orders are submitted and some one comes out to complete the work, but there have been a couple times where they would close the work order and the work is left unfinished. I have had a leak in my bathroom, submitted three work orders. One for the leak and two so that my hot water line could be fixed. They shut the line off, so for almost over a month, I have not been able to use the hot water in my bathroom sink. Because of the leak, the sink is a mess...Other than that, the area seem s peaceful and the people are nice, the School district is AMAZING. If you are house handy...check them out.
first off, this place is huge. Very spacious . Landlord takes care of everything outside. Grass, trees, flowers ,bushes and streets in winter. You do have to deal with your own sidewalks in winter.water is included in rent along with trash. Now here is wher it gets kinda bad. They don't check apartments before you move in and I didn't get to see it till after I signed the lease. My home was very dirty the day of move in. The carpets were shampooed but all other floors were dirty. Tub and shower was dirty along with windows inside and out. Dead bugs and spider webs in every windo. Comes with appliances . Dishwashers are kinda old. Very drafty I. Winter. Old windows and doors but these places were built in the 40's so you inderstand why things are somewhat dated. I have lived here two years and haven't had much trouble. When you walk into the office it very pretty and they say most places look like the office. What they don't say is that you will have tan carpet unlike the wooden floors through out the office. You'll have mint green and dark green tile in your bathroom . All in all its not a bad place but it's not as great as they portray in the office.
I've lived here for 2 15 month leases almost. The management has lacked significantly. From losing my rent check and waiting until the rent was 8 days late to inform me they lost my check, to making it where I have late fees on my record when I had physical proof of my rental check being dropped off at the Dropbox within the timeframe. I always took video of it just in case something like this would happen. I have been needing my bathtub fixed since I moved in! After multiple complaints they have yet to properly fix it. It used to be quiet and laid back area. The change in management has made me thinking about signing another lease to absolutely not!
One thing they don't say about their townhouses is that they flood from outside drains, there is a pump but runs constantly even with no water to a point where it sounds like to pump is overworking and can be heard upstairs (no sleep). When I can actually get a hold of the office it takes them more days to get someone out here. Maintenance more times than not did not fix anything, they've been here maybe 5 times and fixed only 1 thing.
