Dahlonega is a small city in North Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. The area surrounding the city was the site of America’s first gold rush, an event that has shaped the community’s identity to this day, inspiring everything from tourist attractions to museums to community events. Gold Rush Days in the fall attracts hundreds of thousands of people from across the region, and the Bear on the Square weekend in April serves as one of the most popular community celebrations among locals.
