Property Ratings at Sterling Town Center
the apartment complex is dirty, dog poop everywhere, target and Walmart carts everywhere, is not safe to leave your things in your car, the A/C breaks all the time, noisy neighbors , pool is never open
I will admit this place was nice, until I moved into my unit. I had mold in the closet where the water heater was located, literally had to clean the apartment myself before the furniture could be moved in. Then January came around and it got worse. Trash all over the place, shopping carts everywhere (Target/ Walmart), random homeless people cutting across the parking lot just to sit at the side of the road. Random people who are not residents parking their cars taking up spots. You also have traffic coming from Old Wake Forest Rd just to take a short cut to Walmart and they come flying through the apartment complex, and just to go to Walmart. Next issue maintenance takes forever to fix issues and literally do nothing but ride around in a golf cart all day around the complex and talk. Took them literally 2.5 months just to replace a washer because they gave me three different washers and all three were broke or something wrong with them, and their excuse we try it before putting it in well if you try it before putting it in why is having to be replace again?? Then ask for paint to do touch up well they give you old paint that is literally four years old that doesn't even match the walls in the apartment complex. The management just ignores anything you tell them, but they don't mind increasing your rent and add stupid charges to your rent without telling you until it's too late. The only positive to this place is Maria helping me out getting me approved and moved in, and you are close to everything. Do yourself a favor and don't move here unless you like stuff not to get fix, management ignoring your concerns, and love to see random people cut across the parking lot at night, and a unit where the paint doesn't match. This place isn't worth the amount of rent they charge.
I have been a resident of Sterling Town Center for four years and I must say that I sorely disappointed in the way this property has changed. The maintenance department is the worse since I’ve been here. They constantly ride around the community but will not pick up trash that’s on the ground. When submitting request for things to be fixed it takes months to get the issues resolved. It’s excuse after excuse. I currently have an extensive mold issue and the first fix was to cut the section out and paint which didn’t address the source of the mold problem. I have shown pictures and videos to the office with no resolution. I now have had to resort to filing a complaint with the City of Raleigh. Every year the rent increases however the quality of the community has gone down and doesn’t reflect the price of the units.
I decided to move out before my lease ended because the issues became too much to bear. Let's first start with some background information. Getting the apartment was a breeze. I did everything online. Move-In Date: May 13, 2021, First floor apartment In addition to rent, every month I had to pay: locker fee, valet trash fee, rent fee, water, sewer, package locker fee, and pest control fee After completing the 44 pages long lease, I though I would be living in an apartment complex that was top tier when it came to providing a quiet and peaceful living experience that I would enjoy. I was gravely mistaken. Issues I had: There was animal hair everywhere from the previous tenant. Here are the amount of times they had to come into my apartment: 1. Maintenance issue: low water pressure in bathtub- May 13, 2021 (Left my door unlock, as well as, left shoe prints and debris in my bathtub) 2. Maintenance issue: air conditioning- May, 2021 3. Maintenance issue: humid in apartment- May 27, 2021 4. Maintenance issue: pest (springtails)- June 1, 2021 5. Routine Inspection (Annual Fire Safety Inspection): June 16, 2021 6. Maintenance issue: air conditioning- August 11, 2021 7. Installing new WiFi system - November 2, 2021 8. Installing new WiFi system- December 6, 2021 9. Maintenance issue: air conditioning- December 6, 2021 Pest Issues: Here is a list of the following insects I had in my unit: -springtails, -silverfish, -spiders, and -cockroaches Police Presence: Within the first months of living there the police were called because one of my neighbors was shouting and screaming outside of this/her/their apartment. This is not the only time the police have visited the area in which I live. There have been at least three other times. Noise: I would be awaken out of my sleep because my upstairs' neighborhood made loud noise throughout the night. One of my other neighbors would play loud music really late at night. Packages: Delivery people would leave my packages out in the open in the package locker room without processing it in the system, nor placing them in the locker. I decided to have my packages delivered to my boyfriend's house so I would not have to deal with missing packages. The front office rarely answers the phone. And grocery carts would be left in the throughout the complex.
I have been a resident here for almost a year. The staff is ALWAYS helpful and supportive, especially Maria!! I’m a single mom and I feel the area is safe and not to mention everything is so close by. Maintenance has always responded in a timely manner and I have NO COMPLAINTS! This is my experience for the past 10 months!

We are proud to hear Maria has made your experience in our community exceptional! There is nothing better than learning your appreciation for our team.
I love the location of this complex! It is conveniently located to the major highways and roads. I love the new package locker system for packages. The fob system for the gym and pool is awesome so we have access. The staff is amazing and the maintenance request are answered fast!

Hey Lexi! Thanks so much for the wonderful feedback! We're glad to hear that you are enjoying our recent upgrades at Sterling TownCenter. Please let us know if you ever need assistance!
Do not move here. They recently changed management and they are being messy. They decided to bring this valet trash service to the community and didn’t give people an option. $20 extra when the trash dumpster is walking distance for everyone. We already pay $12 for trash service but now an extra $20 just to have people take it for us??? Who wants that? And the trash cans they gave us won’t even hold a medium sized bag of trash. Not only that, they put so many stipulations on having this service. The hours that they are picking up are hour that I’m not even at home. So what am I paying for??? This is unacceptable. And also, this is not sanitary at all. Who should be forced to sit trash outside by the door and then bring it back inside the apartment. That brings on pest issues. I have spoken with several residents about this and we all have the same concerns. The leasing office has new staff and the assistant manager is already showing terrible customer service. I literally had to hang up on her. I am waiting for Shelli to contact me. I went by the office to make an appointment with her and called the office and I haven’t heard back from her yet.

Hello there, thank you for sharing this concern with us! Our team would be more than happy to discuss your feedback regarding our recent switch to valet trash. We do appreciate your thoughts, but please know that our team here is truly working hard to provide our residents with top-notch amenities. We look forward to speaking with you soon, thank you!
I recently moved into this complex and I absolutely love it. The building is still fairly new and is in great condition. The complex is well maintained. The units are spacious and have nice appliances. The washer/dryers in the unit are energy efficient, which is great. The units appear to be well insulated, as I have not noticed any noise from other apartments. But the best part of the apartment is the balcony. The balcony is more private than any of the other apartments I looked at. Management is very friendly and helpful.

Really great place to live. Very efficient and the Maintanance Staff is awesome, especially Larry!!
I presently still live here and so far it has been a great experience. Relocated here from out of state and will say that it is a safe environment, walking distance to the mall, and shopping. The property is well maintained and whenever I had an issue inside my apartment management was quick to address the issue. The area is quiet and there is no noise issues. So I most certainly highly recommend this location as a great choice to live. You are also literally minutes 5-10 from 540,0
I've lived here a little over a month now and everyone that has come to visit from the dish network installer to my friends have commented on what a nice community it is. The neighbors are quiet, respectful and very nice. I leave for work early in the morning and the maintenance staff is already at work cleaning up any litter or working on stuff around the building. The staff in the office were very helpful in accommodating my move in needs and getting to know the area. I would highly recommend visiting Sterling Town Center if you are considering moving to the area!
I've lived here a little under a month and have loved it. The craftsmanship of the apartments isn't the best and there are some places in our apartment where you can tell that they really just tried to get the place together quickly, but nothing has hindered our daily life. The real charm is the staff. Everyone is so friendly and they know you by name. The amenities have been great to use so far and everything has been available when I've needed it. The walls and windows aren't the most sound proof so you do get some outside noise, but I work from home and it hasn't been a problem. The maintenance staff is always walking around and cleaning up, which is nice. The also have little stations to clean up after your pet, which my last apartment complex didn't have. We just moved to the Raleigh area and our proximity to everything has been extremely helpful and convenient. We've been really happy here and I could see us enjoying this place for a few years.
