Located on Lake Ontario and the Oswego River, Oswego is teeming with historic charm in northern central New York. A bevy of unique shops, bars, and restaurants contained in brick buildings populate tree-lined streets in Downtown Oswego. Amenities like the Fort Ontario State Historic Site and the Oswego Railroad Museum uncover Oswego’s rich heritage, which dates back to the early 18th century.
Regular events such as the annual Harborfest and weekly downtown Farmers’ Markets bring the community together in Oswego. Residents also gather at Oswego’s beautiful parks, including Breitbeck Park, Franklin Square, and Fort Ontario Park. The Oswego Speedway is a great venue to experience car races and SUNY Oswego contributes a number of cultural and sporting events to the local community as well.

Property Ratings at Stevedore Lofts
I love my apartment/loft. I enjoy having the industrial loft look. It is nice knowing that a beautiful building was saved and refurbished making me feel like I am helping the environment. The East side has a view of the river and you can access the river walk. The West side is the view of the city (this side does have a view of a funeral home across the street). I am on the west side however I have a fourth floor unit so I get to look over the city and see the great sunsets. You are in walking distance of downtown restaurants and night life. If you are a person who has a pet you can have them here if you are willing to pay a very substantial deposit. The management company is very responsive to your needs and communicates well. When projects or repairs are to be done they let all tenants know through email so that you can prepare. A great place to live.
The Stevedore Lofts Apartment complex is wonderful. Only minutes away from SUNY Oswego. Located in the middle of the city, on the Oswego River. The apartments are very spacious and clean. Each apartment has large factory windows fitted with large shades. The building was once a yarn factory and is now newly renovated for residential living. I live in a one bedroom apartment on the first floor, across from the tenant storage unit room with my girlfriend. The two of us are both college students at SUNY Oswego. The building is quiet and has a community room you can sign out for social events. The parking lot is always plowed during the winters, which is a plus in upstate New York. I often take a 5-10 minute walk along the river to the movie theater, or to the different restaurants in downtown Oswego from the apartment. There really is no better place to live in Oswego. A convenient local grocery store is across the street and the police station is a minute down the road. The building has a security entrance that makes living in the Stevedore Lofts feel very safe. If you're looking for a place to throw loud parties this is not the place for you. The majority of the people living here are engineers, professors, and doctors. But being a quiet and education focused college student makes living at the Stevedore Lofts is wonderful.
