Oak Lane-East Oak Lane is a quaint suburb that sits approximately eight miles north of Downtown Philadelphia via State Route 611. The neighborhood’s residential streets are lined with historic, stately homes and mature trees. Residents of Oak Lane-East Oak Lane enjoy a relaxed lifestyle in the suburbs within the city limits of Philly. The majority of existing houses and churches in the area were constructed in the late 1800s when builders created magnificent Victorian architecture. Large yards, Victorian estates, and Philadelphia-style double homes characterize the neighborhood, although there are affordable apartments and condos within the neighborhood as well. Public transit is available in Oak Lane-East Oak Lane, and the streets are fairly pedestrian- and bike-friendly.

Property Ratings at Stevenson Terrace Apartments
I've been living here long enough to witness both the positive and negative aspects of this property. The best thing that ever happened to this property was the property manager, Sonya (who has since left). She was proactive, responsive, sent out notices, and had a great team working with her. However, Stevenson Terrace has had 4 different property managers since then, and the building's condition has deteriorated. There have been issues such as garbage piling up, roach infestations, garbage in the halls, lack of maintenance, parking violations, problems in the laundry room, leaks, weed smoke, and poor responsiveness from property management. The building and apartments have a lot of potential, but they need the right property manager, a dedicated maintenance team, and accountability for residents who break lease terms. If you are considering renting here, I wouldn't completely discourage you, but it's important to be aware that every apartment has its own set of issues. The building is quite large, so there may be residents who have mice and others who don't. I have enjoyed living in my apartment over the years, but I've noticed the property heading in the wrong direction. It seems like the property is prioritizing maintaining the grounds and elevators over other important issues. Money is being spent on installing new elevators and signage, but the building only has one maintenance person, which seems unreasonable. I would advise using your best judgment when deciding to rent here. Ask honest questions about the garbage pile-ups, maintenance issues, and tenants violating lease terms, as these are all factors that will affect your experience while living here.
Save your money, the apartment is “okay@ but it’s overpriced and invested with Mice. The second day moving in and someone broke into the main lobby and shattered the glass. There was a dead mouse outside my apartment door . Maintenance is subpar
If I could give this building zero stars I would. I have lived here for 3 years and it’s been getting worse and worse. It is ROACH INFESTED. I have been complaining about roaches since the beginning of October all the leasing office and the leasing office allowed this to get out of control. They are now all over the building. This Roach infestation is now the talk of the building and they are barley doing anything about it. When you get on the elevator it’s roaches in there with you that’s a problem. It was a dead mouse in the hallway soon as you walk in on the 3rd floor. NASTY. They steal packages. The hallways are stink. The walls are filthy. Save your money! Elevators we’re down for a whole weekend elders could not get around ! STAY AWAY LOOK ELSEWHERE.
I can't wait to move, honestly. I decided that this was the last year I am going to spend in this community. I've lived here since 2016 and the building is only getting worse. We used to have a security guard posted in the parking lot all night long. He was let go in 2018 for whatever reason and no additional security measures have been implemented. Residents are always smoking weed in the building, blasting loud music, banging on the walls/ceilings, and kids are running around the courtyards kicking balls into windows and stuff when they're playing. Attempting to work from home in this community is a nightmare, people have no consideration for their neighbors, and management doesn't seem to do anything about it (since 2016, I have been under the management of 3 different community managers, all of which are incredibly hands off when resolving issues). Packages are always getting stolen. People are always blocking off fire lanes and handicap parking spots with their cars because they won't get towed. The walls are dirty, the carpets are dirty, and there are NO amenities but the rent keeps on increasing, and I don't even know what for.
Wish I could give no stars. Don’t be fooled by all the apartment “upgrades” this place has gone down over the years. Car brake ins left and right. Management does nothing, police do nothing. My apartment was broken into and mostly everything was stolen except the pictures on the wall. Car broken into overnight too on a few occasion. Strongly advise you to look elsewhere to lease. It’s like management is apart of the “inside job” the way issues are handled and brushed under the rug!! This place is not safe and when you report things nothing happens!! It’s like your blamed and it’s your fault. It makes you feel terrible. Plus the mouse infestation is gross and definitely comes as a surprise. Definitely did not renew my lease here. I’ve heard similar issues from others as well!! For YOUR SAFETY AND FAMILY SAFETY... DO NOT sign a lease with this place!! Will be the worst mistake you’ve ever made. Management is crooked and Police do absolutely nothing either. STAY AWAY!!!
I would recommend this apartment complex. The Property Manager meets the needs of tenants. Maintenance is very prompt with answering emergencies. It is very close to transportation and food shopping centers. My neighbors on each side are very respectful. Any issues the Property Manager addresses it quickly. Clean place I have never seen one roach or anything out of the ordinary. Pest control comes in every couple of months. The building also just got new windows in every apartment that are sound proof. Every apartment complex has issues but I can say that Stevenson Terrace is a very low issue apartment......Dawn Phy Jefferson
