Situated at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, Charlottesville is a fiercely modern city with a reverence for the past. Two United States presidents called Charlottesville home, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe. Thomas Jefferson designed Monticello and the University of Virginia, both of which are now UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Adjacent to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello is James Monroe’s Ash Lawn-Highland, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Charlottesville also houses the largest collection of Aboriginal art outside of Australia, the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection at the University of Virginia. The Jefferson Theater, the Paramount Theater, and a number of music venues in the downtown area host regular performances in Charlottesville, adding to the rich arts and cultural scene.

Property Ratings at Stone Creek Village
I lived at Stone Creek Village for 2 years. It was very nice easy living. The apartments are great, grounds are well maintained, fast and effective maintenance and the office girls get things done and help out. The grounds are quiet and have a nice blend of professional and retired residents. If you are looking for an apartment in Charlottesville, I would look here first.
The sense of community and views are great, but you can find better in Charlottesville for the money. I had serious mold issues in my unit that caused health concerns. The property managers didn't take this issue as seriously as I would have hoped. Their initial reaction was to offer a second dehumidifier and not send someone to determine a solution for the problem. Their version of remediation was to shampoo carpets and wipe surfaces down with a Clorox wipe. The mold kept coming back, and I had to get rid of several of my possessions. I had to fight to get them to have the apartment inspected, and was displaced for a month only to return to my unit and notice this was still an issue. In spite of all this, I never got offered a discount in rent, and when lease expired, they deducted the cost of shampooing the carpets from my deposit. The water costs here are intense, I'm one person and I averaged 50/month, for comparison, in my new unit I average 25/month. The views are stunning, and proximity to Wegmans is great, but you can definitely do better in Charlottesville.

As a young professional, I've rented apartments for the last five years of my career. I've rented at several places touting themselves out as "high end". All I can say is, I would recommend anyone to Stone Creek. Firstly, these apartments are the best value in Charlottesville and one of its best kept secrets. The community is amazing, it's tucked away a stone's throw from Monticello and Carter's Mountain. It makes you feel like you are in a beautiful and secret enclave and yet you are only minutes away from downtown. The pool and amenities are top-rate. The staff at Stone Creek are the best part. They go above and beyond to ensure you love the place as much as they clearly do. Almost all of them live at the apartments (which really is saying something). The apartments themselves are beautiful and spacious and at once feel cozy and luxurious. The last endorsement and perhaps the best is the price point. You WILL not find a more affordable and competitive rate in Charlottesville for what this place has to offer. GO Stone Creek if you are looking in this area, you will not be disappointed. I would never rent anywhere else.
I moved my elderly parents to Charlottesville a year and a half ago. They didn't want to be in "senior community." I lucked into Stone Creek Village Apartments. They moved into a beautiful, first floor, two-bedroom apartment with a glorious view of the mountains. However, it is the staff that makes this place so great. Every maintenance request has been addressed immediately. The landscaping is impeccable and constantly maintained. The office staff is remarkably polite and helpful. Although my parents do not avail themselves of some of the amenities such as the infinity pool and exercise room, they are state-of the-art. The other tenants are primarily young professionals and families, giving the place a wholesome vibe. Additionally, Wegman's supermarket is only a mile and a half away. I feel fortunate to have found Stone Creek Village Apartments.
I often take reviews that are extremely good/bad with a grain of salt but I urge you to not in this case. This apartment complex is by far the best I have ever lived in. The apartments are clean, quiet, well equipped with crown molding, fireplaces, and built in entertainment centers, and offer nice amenities. The trash areas are clean and never overflowing. The dog park is new and actually has grass throughout as many often don't. The pool is gorgeous and while busy during the summer, never an issue to get a spot or too loud and rowdy. There are multiple playgrounds around the grounds that seem to be clean and well taken care of. The gym has good variety and often has people there but is rarely too busy. The newly remodeled lounge area downstairs has an awesome TV and pool table as well as an area for coffee and snacks. All this to say, the apartments are a steal for the price and don't come with any drawbacks in my opinion. What takes Stone Creek Village to the top for me is the office staff. They are so kind and have remembered my name since the first time I toured an apartment. They are quick to help with issues in the apartments, the grounds are immaculate, and they seem to bend over backwards to make everything the best it can be for you. I cannot recommend this apartment complex enough and can promise that a grad student looking for a quite place to study, a professional looking for a mid range apartment with great staff, or a family looking for a safe and clean place to live will be thrilled with Stone Creek Village.
I moved to Stone Creek Village in May of 2015 after spending months researching apartments in the Charlottesville Virginia area. WOW, it met all my expectations and then some. It is minutes away from all and everything Charlottesville has to offer. Historic downtown, shopping, dining, UVA etc. The natural beauty surrounding the complex and landscape design within the complex is breathtaking. My one bedroom apartment has everything you could want, a magnificent view, great floor plan, great appliances and so much more. . The amenities are amazing and the complex has a feel of living in a European Resort. I have saved the best for last. The Infinity Management staff at Stone Creek are the BEST you will find anywhere. They are so friendly, always there if you need something. Feels like you have someone watching over and taking care of you at all times. This is the place to be. Sandy
The staff here is incredibly kind and helpful, any problems I had when I first moved in were resolved the day I notified the office. Big windows, lots of natural light; and large soaker tubs with tons of bathroom storage space. Built in entertainment center above fireplaces is a plus. Great view of Montecello and the mountains from the livingroom and patio. Amenities are worth the amenity fee as part of the deposit.
Lived here about a decade, and saw them allow public areas to decay and equipment become unusable for years before they fixed it; the hot tubs were usually broken(probably why the outdoor 1 just became a firepit.) The management continually devises new reasons to harass residents about pets and bikes and garbage, while alowing dumpsters to overflow and the covered garages to house their dicarded appliances. Upon moving, they charged us to replace carpeting and every single appliance, despite the fact the appliances were all past their 10 year warrantees(kept the appliance paperwork in hope of suing.)Maintenance tended to let themselves in -often while you're in the shower, and if they break or damage your belongings, they just lie. They charged 157$ to replace blinds which cost 30$. They fixed a kitchen sink with putty every 6 months or so for years rather than replace a faulty sink basin. They refused to remove wasps(many, many residents fought with them over that issue & could not use porches) The pool was so poorly maintained that many of us would get sick after swimming-or,they'd suddenly dump in too many chemicals some days and everyone would get burns & rashes from the chemicals. Lower playground has petroleum leaching up through the mulch.Snow removal is random & insufficient, despite danger to its numerous seniors. They charge what they like for water- our bill was 500$ one month and they refused to back down; a civil engineer who assessed water usage capacities calculated that every sink and faucet in the apartment would have had to have been left on full blast for a few months in order to use 500$ of water at the stated rate. They never divulge incidents of crime on the property, including at least one shooting somewhere near the upper units and the police calling in a SWAT team to take in a resident who ran when questioned about abusing partner and weapons violations.(13 residents had ca If maintenance hits your car or smashes a windshield/does damage with the debris kicked up by mowers and trimmers running next to your car, they refuse to pay damages. Theft of bikes and equipment kept in garages is of no interest to management. Managers seem charming (yet dim) but are there to invent and levy fines, deny/deter maintenance, and squeeze every dime out of residents. One elderly lady in our building was harassed by management over bogus neighbor "complaints" until she was forced out.Large corporate/government leasing presence at times.
I have a 3 bedroom ground floor. The rooms are nicely proportioned. The kitchen is big enough for 3 people to work at once and I have room for many of my small appliances including my Kitchenaid, toaster oven, and Kuerig. There is also a large pantry. The open floor plan is inviting, and lends itself to entertaining. Large windows, awesome views of the mountains, and roomy restrooms. The pool and clubhouse are AMAZING, with 2 saunas, a fitness room, a hot tub, an office, a play room for kids, and two locker rooms. There is a pond with a lovely walking path, and a large shaded picnic area with grills! All of the buildings have covered parking, there are multiple playgrounds, and even a putting green. On top of it I can get pretty much anywhere in Charlottesville in about 10-15 minutes. Even less to all of the wonderful way restaurants in Belmont and in the Downtown mall. It is an awesome location. I love my apartment, the office staff are wonderful, and the maintenance staff are the best. I would have given 5 stars, but I feel the apartments are a bit pricey, but then again so is everything in Albemarle County.
