Ada/ Cannon/ Plainfield is a large area surrounding the Grand Rapids to the north and west. Most of the community is filled with wooded spaces and farmlands, but cozy apartments are located in the northeastern and southern sections of town. For shopping and dining, residents head into Downtown Grand Rapids or stay in town for one of the plazas along Highway 37 and 131. Because the area is so verdant, outdoor recreation is abundant. Hunting, hiking, and fishing and boating along the Grand River are all popular activities.

Property Ratings at Stone Falls of Ada
The apartments have lots of natural light and a great layout, but the quality for the price is subpar. We stay because it’s quiet, has lots of windows and big rooms. The maintenance responsiveness is awful and snow removal is slow. They don’t even clean our driveway all the way(had to shovel a lot this winter). Overall good location and set up of apartments but don’t expect good customer service for your pretty penny here.

My wife and I enjoyed living here - until my wife, who is disabled, injured her knee, ending her career as a nurse. We had a second floor apartment and it became dangerous for her to go up and down alone while I was away at college. After she fell down once, we made the hard decision to have her move in with me. Despite giving 45d notice so they could easily re-rent the apt, they assessed a $3300 penalty for breaking our lease - no matter when or if they re-rent. Worse, when we asked for some time to find out what our rights were, they said no & sent it to collections the next business day - heartless, under these conditions. Be careful renting from any Village Green apt - if anything happens to you, they’ll make things even worse, even if your disabled...no compassion at all. We’re going to see if local media will do a story on this - people should be warned about the ruthlessness of Village Green before they sign a lease.

The property managers are not helpful and are unresponsive. There are ants all over the dog park, our garage and into our unit. We have had problems with dogs parking and our neighbors being extremely noisy and have contacted management and have gotten no response. They also are delaying the opening of the pool, even though we pay more to live in this complex because of the amenities. They said they need more time to get ready, but they’ve had ample time to prepare. Management is just lazy.

Pros and Cons of someone who lived here from July-December 2019. Pros: 1) Maintenance came when called for repairs. 2) Door to Door garbage pick-up. 3) Nice Pool Cons: 1) No Dishwasher for the 6 months I lived there. Was never told before renting. 2) Question Financial Stability. Because of the lack of a dishwasher and outside appearance of apartments and garages compared to other apartment communities in the area. Took six weeks to receive security deposit and that's upon asking for it. 3) Told it is the policy of the apartments to throw out personal property left behind upon moving. Even though they have your phone #, address, and email address. 4) Consistent problems with WIFI
I’ve lived here 2.5 years. The first 2 years were great! It lived up to luxury apartments and neighbors that came from diverse, professional backgrounds. The management was showing some concerns and Village Green replaced them. This has been very concerning. The atmosphere has changed to less sophisticated and one can feel marketing strategy all the time living here; signs out front commonly seen at apartments located around universities, social media, deals being adversed, etc. The communication with residents is too frequent and invasive, taking away from the intamcy and privacy of home life and creating a feel of college life. This is not surprising given that a strength of staff seems to be new, modern, trend driven ideas, but lacking in some foundational, seasoned skills and capturing the needs and tastes of a community that is predominantly graduate level professionals, families, or retirees. It has been especially concerning during the inclement weather of the late January vortex to see that they did not maintain shoveling in front of garages and walk ways. There vendor service and own maintenance crew did not shovel adequately during or at all following the snow fall. To put into perspective if I was correct in my disappointment, I viewed other apartment properties that cost less and they had far superior snow removal and safe walk ways. The staff here promised snow would be removed by a certain time and it was not. I had planned to renew my lease one more year and now dread that date. I no longer would recommend Stone Falls. There are a few other similar properties I’m aware of that I would suggest to professionals moving to the area who are in transition. This has been one of the biggest draws for Stone Falls. There are just so many frustrations, if you can find options with same accommodations, try those first.

The location is great, we really enjoy the complex-especially in the summer with the pool, and the apartment suits my wife and I well. However, what is extremely frustrating is the internet and cable they provide at Stone Falls. If you depend on the internet for your occupation, if you have a SmartTV, or if you want to stream tv or movies on your computer, this is not the place you want to live. Stone Falls includes a $75 cable/internet charge and the internet connection is annoyingly poor. It is to the point that my wife and I do not even try to steam movies on the weekend anymore because it is simply frustrating. The staff at the clubhouse is friendly and have mentioned that they been in the process of updating or replacing the infrastructure. However, they told us that it would be done in September...Then December...And now, we are hoping for a February date. Also, the only way we know about this information is because we go to the clubhouse to ask. Otherwise, nothing has been mentioned through email or through the newsletter. Nothing has been done to the $75 bill that we pay each month, either. Like I said, the apartment is nice, but if you need decent internet, I would look elsewhere.
I have lived here for 5 months now. I actually reserved my apartment sight unseen and could not be more pleased. Every picture you see on the site is legitimate. it is well maintained. staff are helpful . The apartment is relatively quiet. I love having a washing machine and a garage I can drive into that I don't have to share. Check it out - this place is great. I plan to stay a few more years here.
I have lived at Stone Falls since July 1, 2009. The property is impeccably managed, the pool and club house are a wonderful benefit. My "home" has 9 foot ceilings, a well equipped laundry room, a fireplace, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. I feel safe and secure.
We have enjoyed our year here at Stone Falls of Ada. For the most part things have been great with the apartments and the location is GREAT! The only minor issue was parking, some of that was due to the location of the unit we were in but also the fact that visitor spots were take up by full time residents who did not use their garages and or own driveways. But with that said, that just comes down to apartment living and courtesy for your neighbors.
BE WARNED..The noise is crazy in these units.. you will hear EVERYTHING.. don't be on the ground level or you will be miserable.. Also the "free" direct tv is a joke, internet is always slow and tv service is spotty at best. For the crazy amount of money these cost they should put some insulation between the floors to cut down on the racket.
